Heathen – (informal use) An unenlightened person; a person regarded as lacking culture or moral principles.Welcome to the Oath Keepers MC, where we say f*ck what you think. Unless you’re Blaze and a feisty principal, then all bets are off. With her nose stuck in the air, Doctor Amelia Stone thinks she has Blaze’s character pegged. He’s a heathen after all, not someone she’d ever think twice about. Unbeknownst to the overconfident principal, Blaze isn’t one of the weak beta males Amelia’s used to intimidating. This is one biker who won’t back down.

The saddest thing is that I waited to read this book and re-read the entire Oath Keepers series first. That only accentuated what a car crash dud this story is. Characters i once liked behaved horribly. Princess became a creepy bullying monster. Blaze recalling how he once hurt and raped women doesn't help to make him a hero. Then there is all the silly anti-feminist talk. In the midst of it is a heroine who does nothing wrong but who gets kidnapped, utterly humiliated and sexually assaulted and then blackmailed. The F/F scenes didn't work for me. I have to wonder how many readers who like intensely hetero mc romance enjoy that the only intimacy in the the first 80% of this book is between women. That aside i found it absolutely unbelievable that after all that this couple are in love. It wasn't a case of suspending belief for a happy ever after. It was just impossible to credit that any same woman would not only tolerate such treatment but also fall for the man responsible. I will be more wary of the next book by this author because this one was so bad I could barely believe she wrote it.
Blaze was part of the old cruel club before most of them joined the hybrid part of the Oathkeepers. He never thought twice about hurting women or anyone else period. Just remember he grew up in that club and seeing how other clubs can be he regrets the person he was and has made peace with himself. Now he protects women up until he is ordered to take the school principal and make sure she changes her attitude towards the club kids.
Principal Amelia is a man hater who thinks all men want to keep women down. She has her nose up in the air and thinks she is better than anyone else. As they keep telling her that she needs to take that stick out of her butt. Blaze tries to get her attention but she isn't having nothing to do with him. Not sure what all she is taking to suppress her cycle but it's messing with her head.
After kidnapping Amelia and having her tied up in his room at the club house he has his work cut out for him. Get her off all those meds and bring her around to the real world. Teach her that a real man will only stand in front of you is when he is protecting you otherwise he will walk beside you until you need him at your back to have your back.
Left a lot of unanswered questions. What made her this way? Does she have any family? Etc
This was hard for me because I love this series and Sapphire Knight has a way with tortured heros that many of her past characters are some of my favs. Heathen was just okay for me I love Blaze and his easy going personality. Blaze with Amelia is the perfect match however I couldn't feel their connection and I think the ending was too rushed. Felt like a slow burn turned into insta-love. Another thing is the whole "being hot for a female but wanting your man" is kind of getting a repetitive in this series. Can it be HOT absolutely but a little overdone in this series. I don't want to give away any spoilers but no possessive alpha biker is going to be okay with their property messing around. It was too contradictory to past storylines. I do love this series and although Heathen was not the best of the series for me I loved catching up with some of my past favorite characters and getting more details on the $#!÷ being stirred up with the MC ... until the next one.
DNF! The "darkness" of this book did not bother me, what bothered me was just how stupid it was! What in the world did Amelia do that she deserved to be drugged, kidnapped, stripped naked and tied to a bed and have her life threatened if she did not come around to their way of thinking? At the point where I stopped reading (the middle of Chapter 8), the reasons behind all of this (other than she didn't kiss the asses of the club kids and bow at the mere presence of the members when they were at the school) is still unknown to the reader and Amelia. But the stupidest thing I read and when I knew I couldn't read any further was when Princess asks Blaze if he had slept with Amelia yet and when he says no her response is, “I can’t believe you haven’t slept with her already. You sleep with everyone! Well, anyone who isn’t an ol’ lady anyway. Has she friend-zoned you or something?” Friend-zoned him? Seriously? This girl is naked, tied to his bed and being held against her will and her question is has she friend-zoned you! That did it for me, I was done! There was a time when I couldn't wait for the latest Oath Keepers MC book to come out, but the way this book was written seems to be becoming a trait with Ms. Knight. So I think instead of wasting my money on books I cannot finish I will simply no longer buy them. So sad.
Knight, Sapphire. Heathen: Oath Keepers MC . Kindle Edition.
it was ok. I enjoyed the other ones of the series more. the beginning started off good but not sure why you would kidnap h and have most of the book be about that. sad to say I also skim most of book because I was just bored. was looking forward because of the description but was totally disappointed in this story.
I went into this book not too excited about it but I think I had seen opinion already formed. That was my first mistake! then when I started it I found myself not to interested with the first few chapters and I put it down that was my second mistake. I then decided I wanted to see what Blaze had in store for principal Amelia. I deliberately am glad I didn't make that third mistake of putting it down! I devoured this book! it was quirky and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have to admit Blaze had some big boots to fill considering the PREVIOUS books in this series and you did not disappoint! His alphaness shown through and amid it all I came to an understanding and have a new respect for P! Amelia is tough in her own right and deserves to be worshipped right along with the other ol"ladys! Another great addition to the Oath Keepers MC! Can't wait for more to come!
These men!! I love them so hard!! Every book in the Oath Keepers MC is amazing, wonderful characters and intense story lines. I love the way Sapphire is defending the alpha male! Nothing is more empowering than an alpha. This book tells a skewed story of life, our outlook and how we can truly change our perspective on all of these things.....in other words, she is giving us real life. Amelia is truly a piece of work and it is great to see her evolve from what some deem normal to truly enlightened by love and life. In other words, she grows up!! Heathen is intense and feels really deeply for all things, ( it is possible for an alpha male). The evolution of these characters is a truly entertaining read and thoroughly enjoyable. This is an absolute must read!!!
I received an ARC of Heathen and I absolutely loved it. As to not give anything away I will say this I've loved the Oath Keepers MC from the very first book and with the Nomad series it just keeps getting better. Heathen wow what can I say about this book and not give anything away the sex scenes holy cow hot hot hot and Blaze well he's a total alpha and I loved every minute of it. Family, loyalty, brotherhood, ol ladies with a backbone this book has it all. Don't believe me read this book and series you won't regret it. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Sapphire gave us a hot read in Heathen. It was a different type of story and that's why I liked it so much. Amelia and Blaze have a very different relationship from the very beginning. Keep an open mind while reading this book. It will teach you some good lessons. I have to say I agree with Blaze and what he and some of the old ladies teach Amelia. It's a one of a kind love story.
I LOVE the Oath Keepers series, (and everything else Sapphire has written), and constantly re-read her work; then I read Heathen. I may have enjoyed this book more if I wasn't constantly taken out of the story by views on gun rights or boarder control. I hated the feeling of being preached at, (I don't think it was the authors aim), but that is how it felt to me.
I have absolutely loved everything this author has put out , got really excited every time a book was released and own pretty much every book she's written so I'm gutted I feel this way, excellent writer, but I really thought this was vastly below in standard and subject matter . Why you would kidnap and drug someone because they dared to stand on their principals is beyond me , just farfetched she's a school principle for God's sake not a cartel of mafia member. The main female character went from standing up for herself to doormat , and how can you fall in love with a man who has historically raped, beaten and tortured women. All of the characters in this book who I loved in previous ones who had honour and principles came of as nasty predators even the women. Women breaking down women then blackmailing them. I skimmed most of this book because I thought it was ridiculous and farfetched. I have no problems with dark subject matter ,so it's not that I didn't know what I was reading that's not my issue , it's just the ridiculousness of the story . I hate leaving bad reviews especially for an author I really like but I just didn't like this one. Sorry.
I wasn't sure if this one would work out, it was extreme to some degree the way Blaze was tasked to get control of Amelia. For some reason we don't find out she has a serious hate on men, to the point of taking not just the pill but goodness knows how many hormone suppressants. Way over the top and it's made her unfeeling and hard. I get the club trying to protect the kids in her school from being targeted just because of the MC, I even get her being taken to try and reason with. Princess is known to be the ice queen but she went over the top in this. Fortunately it all works out. I did love that Blaze had his work cut out for him and in many ways it was probably what he needed, someone strong enough to stand up to him and not fall at his feet, maybe this could have been handled just a little better though, some bits weren't needed really as she was already coming round by then. Intense, worrying but gripping read, there are sparks and chemistry. Some action, but we didn't see the club in a good light in this one but I still felt it was worth the 5 stars because I didn't hate it or stop reading, I still love the characters and I guess in some ways the title says it all.
I've read reviews on this book and some didn't !one it but I did. Yes Blaze is very Alpha but so are all the men in this series. The h in this story did have a stick up her butt and I'm happy TBE it finally worked loose but I just wished that Blaze her had more stormy scenes a little earlier on than at around 90% in the book. Overall I liked the story.
I wasn't a fan of this book at all, storyline was very blah and I hated the main characters. I bought it and kept it on my to read list, had it been sooner I might have asked for my money back
What a totally awesome book and series!!! I just absolutely loved it from beginning to end! I can't wait to read the next book! A definite must read!! Happy Reading!!! :)
Everything this lady writes is good! She has a gift that she shares with the world through her books. I don't ever give hints on books...read the book and make your own opinion. Just know that I love all of her books and the "people" in her books.
I really enjoyed reading this story. Sapphire Knight will not let you down when you are seeking a steamy, angsty, escape. Slip into.this book and follow the changing relationship between Blaze and Amelia.
An invigorating, exhilarating, suspenseful, and thrilling journey to go on with Amelia and Blaze. I was absolutely excited that the Oath Keeper MC were back, and boy, did they come back with a bang! Sapphire Knight is an amazing storyteller, she certainly knows how to capture your attention, grip your heart, keep you on your toes, and leave you breathless. I enjoyed this book immensely.
