Dismount tells the interwoven stories of five Marines of Operation Iraqi Freedom: Hicks, Ramirez, Valery, Wallace, and Watt. They left home and joined the Marine Corps seeking change. After the rigors of boot camp and the trauma of war, who will they be when they return home?

An outstanding collection of war stories brought home by a Marine who humanizes combat in an honest, authentic manner that simply can’t be faked. A must read for everyone—including combat vets—who struggle with all of the big questions raised by going to and returning from war.
It's been a good year for my war reading and this is probably one of my favorites. Incredible collection of short stories from a veteran writer. Worth the read.
