Regrets? Everyone has them. But what if you can do something about it? What if you could change the past?

Keith Young is struggling. A family tragedy, difficulties at work, a crumbling marriage. Every day as he drives home from his office, he passes a giant tree, and more and more he fantasizes about veering off the road, unbuckling his seat belt and accelerating...ending it all. Finally, after a particularly difficult day, Keith decides he has had enough. Today will be the day.

Then, even as he bears down on the tree, a figure appears. Keith jams on the brakes, barely avoiding both the man and the tree. And he quickly learns this is no ordinary a person of overwhelming beauty and calmness, he identifies himself as Keith Young's Guide, sent to help get him through this challenging time. He comes with stories of his own world, as well as support and enthusiasm for life, but also a unique opportunity.

The Guide can bring Keith Young back to ten points in his life, ten decisions that he made that he has regretted. He can then bring Keith back to that time, to make a different decision, a different choice. To try to get things right.

Keith Young then travels back in his life, from mistakes he made in early childhood all the way to the present, trying to repair what he perceives to be the regrets of his life.

Written by Howard Gardos, the author of "The Extraordinarily Lucky Day in the Unlucky Life of David Pryce", The Guide is a fantasy, a family drama, a story of regret, hope and redemption, and it will stay with its readers long past the final page.

I’ve enjoyed this author’s previous work but was interested in the apparent lighter content of this book. Although some darkness is present, I found the subject matter and presentation to be enjoyable and easy to follow, without the unnecessary fillers often found in this type of genre. The ordinary and believable characters brought the thought-provoking theme to life. Was pulled in from the beginning and very interested in the outcome. Definitely recommend!
