Deconstruction: An Annotated Reference

Rate this book
Those who are interested in deconstruction often don’t know where to turn to get a clear explanation on the wayward nuances and jumbled gobbledygook that seems ubiquitous in texts on deconstruction. The overwhelming number of texts praising deconstruction makes it seem as if academia stands solidly behind Jacques Derrida’s many books on the subject. Unsurprisingly, academics do support deconstruction. The reason for this has more to do with left wing political ideology than it does the merits of deconstruction. I have reviewed thirty two standard texts on deconstruction the purpose of which is to give you a sense of the assorted pros and cons underlying it. I added the word “Pro” or “Anti” following the name of each text. As a final note, I have learned that the “anti” books are written in a far more accessible way than all the “pros.”
