An easy-to-read introduction to the French Revolution and its many, many repercussions. I started my research with bigger, more comprehensive volumes...but those offered too much detail. This short book provides enough complexity without being overwhelming.

I heard a story on NPR comparing what is going on in the Middle East right now to what happened with the French Revolution. Essentially, one revolution ousting the king had a domino effect through the rest of Europe. The speaker was addressing the question of whether or not democracy would stick in Egypt, Libya, Syria, etc. The point in contrasting it with the French Revolution being that it took a while, but in the end democracy prevailed. This book gave me a quick overview of the French Revolution and how it spread revolution throughout Europe.

Perhaps slightly biased in some areas concerning people involved, but otherwise a good resource for teenagers.
