Being in love with the king of Harlem comes with some obstacles, and Remi is about to find out just how many she may have to jump. After ending things with Reno, Remi is gunned down in cold blood by a mysterious person. Who shot Remi? And did they achieve their goal of killing her? Uzi just got his girl back, and now he might have to bury her. Is Remi strong enough to survive this, or will Tweeti end up burying the one person she loves the most?
After finding out that she’s carrying Jah’s baby, Tweeti is scared as ever. Scared to face reality that she’s about to become a mother, she does the unthinkable, but does she go through with it? Will Jah ever trust her again, or will this end things for them?
Jah wants nothing to do with his family, but when someone threatens to come for them, he has no choice but to stand by their side. Although Shad isn’t his biological father, he’s still a McKnight at heart. What happens when the person attacking the family, just may be family?Wynner is dealing with the fact that her husband won’t leave Olay alone. After telling him over and over again to leave her alone, he still hasn’t stopped. Did Qua cheat with Olay, or did Olay make it more than what it was?
Being in love with the king of Harlem is no easy job, especially when everyone wants your spot, but Uzi makes it look so effortlessly. When someone in the shadows is working overtime to take everything he has worked hard for, will he crack under pressure, or will he work double time to protect his family and kingdom?
Still more drama is coming out in this series, the McKnight brothers is on the rampage to find Reno. There is So, So many secrets in this family I’m sitting here with my mouth wide open (lol). Remi is getting better with her health. Reno is a monster & wants revenge on Uzi & Jah for past issues with his father. A lot of new secrets will be revealed.
i’m living for all of this drama in the mcknight family. and the way it ended ? I just know it’s going to get crazier. my favorite part of this story was Wynner finding her voice and prize.
I knew those Cali twins were going to bring nothing but chaos. The second they showed up, I knew peace was leaving Harlem.
Reno... somebody PLEASE put that man in a padded room. He's outside running around like a rabid dog with a gun, making everybody else's problems even worse. Every time he popped up, I was just waiting for another disaster.
Also, on a completely unrelated note... why would that lady name her son KNIGHT MCKNIGHT?? Ma'am. There were other options.
I was happy to see Wynner finally get her prize. After everything she'd been through, I loved that for her. Meanwhile, Qua is still trash. Three books in and my opinion has not changed one bit.
Jah's crash out? Honestly... understandable. But you're putting all your energy into the one person who's actually been in your corner. Redirect that anger, my guy.
And this family tree... somebody needs to draw me a diagram because everybody is connected to everybody. The sister is the fiancée, the fiancée's dad is Jah's dad... everybody is hunching everybody, everybody has secret kids, and apparently everyone is extremely fertile. I cannot keep up.
I was glad Lira finally found herself a good man... but of course he's another McKnight. Why am I not even surprised anymore?
This series continues to be entertaining, messy, and completely over the top. At this point, I'm tired of every last one of these people... but clearly not tired enough to stop reading. Guess I'll see what kind of foolishness everybody gets into in Book 4.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Please be aware that this digital copy is full of typos. I knew this going in and read it anyway because I needed to know how the rest of the story went.
Y’all the secrets just keep coming. Chapter 4 made shout so loud I’m surprised my neighbors didn’t complain! Book One makes the McKnight family seem like the perfect family and this book continues to share all the ways that they’re not.
There’s 2 attempted murders. One so serious the character is in the hospital for weeks. More family betrayal and no couple’s relationship is safe.
It was a page turner that I borrowed from Kindle Unlimited. On to Book 4 cause I’ve got to see what happens next!
The McKnight family has so many secrets I needed a flowchart. Every time something got revealed, another skeleton popped out the closet like “SURPRISE.” I’m just trying to keep up 😩😂
And that plot twist at the end?? Ms. Jah Ma’am…..WHAT?! 🤯
But let’s talk about the real glow-up: Wynner
She found her voice. And I am HERE. FOR. IT.
This version of Wynner? Confident. Speaking up. Not shrinking. Not spiraling. Not swallowing her feelings. That growth has made reading the series worth it for me.
The way this just ended has me hollering. Jahquel J really knows how to hit you with a cliffhanger right when you’re getting comfortable. F@$k Qua! Wynner does not deserve someone like him. Who’s going to believe a man over his wife. Oh but the kicker was, finding out their daddy is engaged to Jahquel sister? This is a full-blown soap opera wrapped in a book, and I’m here for it.
Let me go ahead and start book four because clearly things are only getting crazier from here.
This family has WAAAAAAYYYYYY too many secrets. The momma acting like she all distraught as if she hasn’t been lying to damn near everybody is crazy. Jah finding out what Tweeti was going to do hurt. Uzi staying by Remi side was so warming to the heart but he was a lil overbearing. Wynner finally gets a win sort of but Qua really ain’t helping with the skeletons he got. The fact that he didn’t talk to Wynner about what he thought shows how much of a weak lil boy he actually was to me. Reno is really crazy and I don’t think mental help will do any effect on his situation. Too far gone.
Wow even more came out in this novel! Qua done got himself in some mess dealing with Olay, she got to go. Daddy Shad is on one. That shocking ending was crazy! Lira finally got a man but his crazy twin tried to take him out and now everybody is out to get him for real. So much happened, can't wait to see what's next. Great series but this book needs so much editing, there are so many errors! I love Jahquel and respect her craft but there was a lot of mistakes that a good editor should have caught, hence the 4 stars instead of 5!
I swear the cliffhanger’s be taking me out. Shad was hella wrong for how he did Emory but his fiancée being Jah’s Biological father’s daughter took the cake. every time this family comes together another secret is revealed.
