Vice is his first, middle, and last name... can this angel save him?
The Viscount of Vice likes two types of women, the ones that fall easily into his bed and the ones that leave just as quickly. So why can't he stop thinking about the sweet Miss Ada Chase? Her auburn hair and green eyes haunt his dreams, though they shouldn't. She's perfectly wrong for him...
The Viscount of Viceroy looks like he's Heaven sent, but underneath that perfect veneer lies a scoundrel. Ada is certain of it. And ladies like her should stay far away from rogues like him. So, why is she tempted by his perfect charm?
Miss Ada Chase was nothing like the women the Viscount of Viceroy gravitated to. She was intelligent but a little shy and sometimes less than graceful. She was also, an innocent who didn’t realize her ability to bring a man to his knees. His job is to protect her after that little incident in his gaming hell, but he is finding she has made him want something more in life, something he has avoided at every turn, one special woman.
Tammy Andresen’s VISCOUNT OF VICE is one more quick, but entertaining escape into the past that has a guaranteed happy ending after a delightfully merry chase that has both “sweet” and “heat.”
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen! This is my honest and voluntary review.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 This Viscount is a god among men . A man that women crave as he craves them. But can a sweet, unassuming but beautiful woman change his philandering ways.
I loved this book it pushed all the right buttons and gave me satisfaction in reading. It was sweet in its character of Ada , sexy with Blake , and perfect in the chemistry between the two together.
Now give me some Baron of Baderness , I know he’s next and his tussles with Grace in this book have given me a taste for more.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

My review :
Funny how I thought Vice would be the worst of them all, because of his appearance close to a fallen angel, he is labeled a rake, and he is one. But it is only to put balm on his wounds. Reject by a woman, he drowned his pain in meaningless flings, avoiding at all cost any entanglement. Why he first dismissed Ada, not enough beautiful, too reserved and dull. But quickly she catches his attention, she does not play coy games with him, she is true to herself. Ada is the overlooked girl, with no petulant energy, she is just the one everyone can rely on if in need of support or just love. But by believing she is unattractive, she renders this image, blending with her environment, eluding other’s gaze. Her awkwardness makes her clumsy. Until Blake known as Vice with his angelic face, she is so sure he will bypass her, she can be herself in his presence, having no expectation, she shows her true colors, the loving and kind woman she is.
A lovely addition to this fun series. It ends with a bit of a cliffhanger as we are left wondering about the last Miss Chase, Grace. 4.5 stars.
I was granted an advance copy by the author, and preordered my own. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.
After being turned down by a woman who said he wouldn't be a good enough husband, Blake Everbee, Viscount of Viceroy (aka Vice), only spends time with beautiful women who only want to have a good time and not have a serious relationship. Vice has been charged with keeping Ada safe until Lady Abernath is captured. He likes Ada. She brings out all his good qualities but he doesn't think she'd want him because of his past. Ada Chase is a sweet, loveable woman with a quiet strength. She's always been awkward around men but seems to be able to talk to Vice. She's a very different person around him. She even teased him that she was a ruiner of rakes. She slowly wins him over with her kindness. Can they overcome their pasts to have a future together? This is book 4 in Tammy Andresen's series Lords of Scandal. It is a stand alone story but you'll definitely want to read this whole series. This has been an awesome series that I've very much enjoyed. I hate to see it end with her next book. I was granted an advanced reader copy by the author. This is my honest review.
Anyone who reads the first few pages of this and does not find it absolutely hilarious, needs to find some joy in life. I loved it and coming at this time with all the negativity going on around us, it was a breath of fresh air - thank you Tammy Andresen!
Lord Blakely Everbee, The Viscount of Viceroy or Lord Vice, as he is known to his friends, is a well known rakes who chooses the most beautiful woman, beds them and moves on. He is as handsome as an angel with money and attitude but on the inside he is lonely and wants more from life.
Miss Ada Chase is a lovely lady who is shy and becomes clumsy & tongue tied when any man shows interest in her. Vice has picked Ada as the Chase he will guard to keep her safe from the threats to the Chase sisters & cousins from an evil woman exacting revenge. Ada is still very nervous around Vice & his suggestive teasing but she knows he has no interest in marriage or her. He; however, finds this shy wallflower to be very interesting, intriguing & the more he is around her, the more beautiful she becomes.
The interaction between Vice & Ada really is fun - she is so innocent & naive & he is such a tease & rake but she really puts him in his place and he finds himself acting like a young, shy lad. He finds she is stronger, kinder and so much more than he had ever given her credit. They are a wonderful couple & the secondary characters from previous books only add delight and entertainment to a lovely story.
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
4.5 Stars Blake Everbee, The Viscount of Viceroy or Vice to his friends has been charged with looking after Miss Ada Chase whilst he & his friends hunt down a countess intent of ruining them. This is the fourth book in the series & it could be read on its own but I’d recommend reading the series in order to fully appreciate it. I absolutely loved the opening pages, which were hilarious & almost had me rolling on the floor laughing – just what's needed at the moment. Once again strong characters & a well written story had me engrossed for an afternoon. The story flowed really well & I was drawn in from cover to cover, I loved it. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I found this a really good book. Ada is a great character she thinks she doesn't have many attributes that Vice wants but she is extremely loyal to her family and would do anything to protect them all.
It started out so strong… but between all the irrational emotional females, the story dropped for me. Ada’s insecurity and passiveness was a put off. And Emily’s immaturity and temper tantrums didn’t belong in the story. Just ok.
Blake (Vice/Viceroy) & Ada. I enjoyed this story more than some of the rest but I'm not sure why. Vice was tasked with protecting Ada. We start out the story with them at Exile's wedding to Diana. He's a rake and is known as a kind of playboy (dating/sleeping with beautiful women: an actress, a princess, etc.). Ada on the other hand is more wallflower like. He even says she's not beautiful enough to make "the list". But that seemed to change pretty quickly. So someone went from meh to the most beautiful person he'd ever seen. Unlikely but whatever.
Blake had been burned in the past having fallen in love and proposing just to be turned down. She was a snob and told him he wasn't good enough for her. For some reason, our playboy took it to heart and now thought he wasn't good enough for anyone as a husband.
Ada had been in love but he was an adventurer and left her behind to go on a extended trip. He told her not to wait for him but he pretty much expected her to. So she's feeling rejected and not up to par.
Most of the story is them lusting for each other but not feeling good enough for the other. Oh and Ada (after being given the advice from one of her sisters) playing hard to get.
Ada's adventurer shows back up and tells her that he knew when he got on the ship that he had made a mistake and turned around to come back (it took him 6 mo). He is very self-absorbed and wants to marry her and have her tag along his adventurers. But she's moved on and tells him no. He doesn't take it well and escorts/drags her to another room to try and convince her to accept him. He tries stealing her first kiss and ends up ripping her dress. Vice shows up and hits him in the face a couple of times before escorting/throwing him out of the ball. He returns to Ada and she asks him to be her first kiss.
Grace (her cousin or maybe sister IDK) has been wanting to go ribbon shopping most of the book. Finally Grace, Ada and their protectors Bad & Vice (chaperoned by Jack from the prequel) are heading out ribbon shopping. Grace and Bad get into an argument where he calls her selfish (seems he didn't want to go out ribbon shopping). Bad stomps off to a tavern to get his drink on. Grace storms off but is kidnapped by Cristina Abernath (our villain in all the books to date) and Crusher (some random bruiser she managed to get help her). Jack was shot in the melee. After ensuring he's taken care of Ada, Vice and Bad take off after Grace. Their carriage is slow so Bad takes a horse and chases after the faster carriage/Grace. Ada and Vice follow. They ride and ride and Ada & Vice come to a town. Bad has left them a message that he's on Crusher's tail and he'll get Grace back. They should wait at the town's inn. They were too far behind to catch up.
Realizing that they were alone and Ada was most likely compromised, Vice tells her that he loves her and wants to marry her. She returns his affection and they end up consummating the wedding a little early (they weren't satisfied with the on clothes grinding leading to her O). In the middle of the night (430-5) they get a note from Bad. "Vice, It's done. Bad" A man of many words. They hook up again and end up sleeping until after the sun is up then return back to London where they get married. We're left with the Grace Bad cliffhanger but that's book 5.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was an OK addition to the Lords of Scandal series, but it didn't have enough character development for me. I wanted more backstory on both Blake and Ada. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.
I'm starting to tire of all the problems that the Countess of Abernath has caused. I want to know why she is so bent on revenge, and is willing to hurt complete innocents to get it. I get that she is likely a bit mad, but I want to know why -- and I want that situation to be resolved. It is time for the author to find a new villain.
Blake was really hard to like at first, because his attitude toward women was absolutely awful. He wanted to use them for his pleasure, but didn't care about them at all. On top of that, he believed that he deserved only extremely beautiful and accomplished women, even though he had no plans to actually be in a relationship with them. His arrogance really turned me off. It was later explained that he eschewed relationships because he was sure that he would be rejected for his past, since he had been once before -- but I still thought his behavior was terrible. He did get better once he got to know Ada, because she was a good influence on him, but it was a while before I liked him much.
Ada was sweet and gentle, but didn't understand her own worth. She kept finding herself lacking when compared to her bolder or more accomplished relatives. I was glad when Blake and her relatives helped her understand just how much she did have to offer. I did wonder why she was attracted to Blake at first, though, because he was not nice to her.
I did like that Ada seemed to develop more self-confidence when she was around Blake, and that she showed him his past didn't matter. They seemed to bring out the best in each other.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Viscount of Vice, Book 4 of the Lords of Scandal series, was about Lord Blakely 'Blake", "Vice" Everbee, the Viscount of Viceroy, and Miss Ada Chase. Blake and Ada met when Ada and five of her female relations went to the gaming hell called Den of Sins that Blake and five of his friends secretly owned. In order to protect their secret from Society, each of the six men vowed to individually watch and protect one of the six women. With four of the six sisters and cousins having married four of the owners of the gaming hell, only Ada, Grace, Vice, and Bad remained unattached. Vice was deeply attracted to Ada, but he had been emotionally scarred from the early age of 13 when his parents both died of a lung infection and, then years later, when the woman he thought he loved rejected his marriage proposal. He was wary of any emotional attachment, but he could not deny his feelings for Ada. Ada had also been emotionally scarred, first by her family whom she believed all considered her a bumbling fool, then by a man she thought she had loved and who chose his career over her. Ada was a very shy and self-conscious young lady, so unsure of herself around men. The chemistry between Ada and Blake was quite strong from the moment they met, but with each of them afraid of being hurt, it took them a long time to admit to themselves how they felt. But then fate stepped in and gave them both a shove in the right direction. The drama and angst swelled throughout the book, as did the fear of what the villain would do and when it would happen because they all knew something was brewing. They just didn't expect things to spin out of control so fast. So far, this was one of the better books in the series, but still only earned a 4-star rating...but still it did not gain a place with the other Keeper for the Shelves books.
WOW! This has been such an amazing series! Just when I think it can’t get better, the next book comes out and the author amazes me again! I have fallen in love with all the characters and I don’t think I could pick a favorite. This is the fourth book in the series and the Chase females are still causing chaos and taming rogues! Ada Chase was supposed to be the quiet and shy Chase, but she certainly finds her spunk with Viscount of Viceroy “Vice” by her side. I loved the advice Ada’s mom gave her when Ada compared herself to her sisters and cousins, “They might take a man and shake some sense into him, but you will slowly lead him down the correct path. He won’t even realize it’s happening until it’s too late.” This sentiment was true for Ada, she caught Vice’s attention and won him over slowly with her kindness, quiet strength, and love for her family. Vice thought he had too much of a past to ever have a woman like Ada want to marry him. He had been burned years before when the woman he proposed to told him he wouldn’t make a good husband. But his protectiveness and feelings for Ada bring out his best and the more time they spend together, the more he starts to believe in himself. I’m going to be sad when the next book comes out because it will mean an end to this wonderful series, but I can’t wait for it either!
A challenge. That is what Ada was to Viceroy. No make that Vice, seducer of women, oh not just any women.. "the most beautiful, talented, gifted or accomplished women in England and wider Europe for that matter. He'd carried on with a Russian princess who was rich beyond imagination and one of the most famous actresses in London. All in all, his list of women he'd shared a bed with was an accomplishment in and of itself. One he was proud of." Wowza, Vice sure thought a lot of himself! He was responsible for keeping close to Ada, one of the Chase women who had invaded he and his friends gambling hell and now they were in danger from a crazed ex of one of the Lords. Oh I loved Vice because I could not wait to see him taken down a peg or two when he began to fall in love with Ada, and I just knew he would But he also has had a deep hurt that makes him the way he is... Ada does not have a lot of confidence. She feels clumsy and not at all beautiful like her sisters and cousins. But Vice thinks she looks almost angelic and the more time they spend together, she has a positive effect on him. Can these two actually begin to fall in love? Nothing better than a rake and the woman who tames him!! Love it. Now on the Badernass, and oh, how Bad can he be??
From the opening chapter of this novel, which had me in stitches, I found myself enchanted by the main characters. Vice is his name and vice is his calling, but underneath it all is a man with pain and unresolved conflict. With Lady Abernath still on the loose, Miss Ada Chase is the most vulnerable of the Chase women and Vice takes his responsibility to keep her safe seriously. Ada's timidity keeps tripping her up and to make matters worse, others seem to trip up around her too and Vice is no exception. Knowing that Vice has no interest in marriage and that he has even less interest in her, frees Ada up from her usual nervous response towards men, leaving him intrigued and surprised at his growing attraction to the wallflower of the group. The story is well written, sweet and romantic with hilarious interludes. Characters and references to previous episodes in the series appear in this one too, however, the story is a standalone and does come to a happy close even though the Chase ladies are still left with unanswered questions. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Throughly enjoying book 4 of the Lords of Scandal, well done Tammy Andresen this series gets better and better.
Really loved Blake, Viscount Viceroy 'Vice' and Ada Chase's story. Vice is assigned the task of watching shy, unassuming Ada who like her sisters and cousins are being threatened by Lady Abernath. Vice believes he can never be worthy of someone like Ada, a lady who is kind, loving and beautiful in her own way she brings out the best in him and is slowly with her charm, looks and caring nanner is breaking down the carefully constructed walls around his heart. Ada feels so much more alive when she is with Vice he makes her feel beautiful and vivacious in a way she has never seen herself before, she has always compared herself to Grace, Emily, Minnie and Diana and found herself wanting do how can a man like Vice ever truly care for her, can she be enough for him. Both Blake and Ada worry that they are not worthy of each other can they overcome their fears to open their hearts to each other to become their better selves.
I am not a writer and never could be. I could never do what these authors do. With that being said, I don’t write great reviews. If I like or love a book; I would just say “Love this book. You need to get it” or something along those lines. I am trying to be better.
Reading over 370 books last year, over 1400 in less than 5 years and hundreds and hundreds of different authors over those years, there is only a handful that I truthfully can say are on the top of my list of authors that I love all the books they put out. Tammy Andresen is one of those authors. Since 2017, I have read almost 40 of her books. I really loved this Lords of Scandal Series. I like the characters and the concept of each story. She never disappoints. You can never go wrong by picking up any of her these books but be prepared…you will want to download every one of them like I did.
Viscount of Vice a really feel good book, crosses all the T’s and Dot’s unfortunately for Blake Everbee, Viscount of Viceroy aka Vice, had never come across a woman like Ada Chase.
This quick read is fun has all we want, every story in this series will leave a smile of your face and maybe a little let down that it’s finished.
Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
Highly recommended, not only this book but all in the series.
How the mighty will fall.. and then there were two. Vice and Bad are the only two left from the original bargain. As Vice and Bad settle in to protect Ada and Grace love blossoms again. Vice is all about perfection in his women, which Ada is not..or is she!! Ada is such a so much more than Vice has ever known and can't help but to love her. A very well written exciting and yet again, dangerous adventure.
This series started off pretty good, but I feel like it would have been better as a shorter series - a trilogy, perhaps. This storyline with this many couples, all coincidentally falling in love and marrying quickly in the span of a few weeks, doesn't really work in my opinion. Keeping up with who is with who, and which girls are sisters and which are cousins, keeps getting more confusing.
I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
Viscount of Vice is a sweet and sexy read in it we find a rakish viscount who’s had he heart broken once before. The break was so brutal that he vowed to never again ask for a lady’s hand in marriage. That all changes when he’s forced to guard a quiet miss. As it turns out, she’s shy, afraid and clumsy with every man but him. What they bring out in each other is a real treat to watch.
Book four in the Lords of Scandal series. And this (quite short) story is about Vice & Ada. Not my favourite one, I have to say. I thought Vice changed his feelings towards Ada quite quickly and the villain is now starting to get a little tiresome (is abducting females all they can do?) But it’s a fun read, if a little repetitive compared to the other books, and passed the time. I shall of course, continue the series.
Sweet? There was potential here for real depth given the insecurities of the couple. However it took a while for me to feel invested in the story. Once I was hooked the love scene felt out of character for Ada. Too risky, not in keeping with who she was intrinsically. It was fast paced and entertaining, just a bit lighter than I feel it should have been.
This is the forth book in a series that just keeps getting better. The plot is full of surprises and there are some wonderfully emotional passages. The characters are beautifully portrayed. This book will suit anybody who loves steamy historical romances that have plenty of twists and turns.
She put her hands on her hips. “Oh please. Diana or Minnie, they are the types who might—” “Ada Lynn,” her mother said as she stood from the bed. “They might take a man and shake some sense into him, but you will slowly lead him down the correct path. He won’t even realize it’s happening until it’s too late.” - great description by Ada Lynn's mother
Viscount Of Vice is another fantastic historical romance by Tammy Andresen. Ms. Andresen has once again provided readers with a well-written book. I think this might be my favorite of this series so far. The characters are awesome. Blake, called the Viscount of Vice, is tasked with protecting Ada. She doesn't make it easy. Blake and Ada's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Viscount of Vice and look forward to reading more from Tammy Andresen soon. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Viscount Of Vice is book 4 of the Lords of Scandal Series and can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This series is getting better and better. I really love these characters. That's what these people are characters, not many close friends could get into so much mischief. The ladies are just as naughty. Love this series.
Tammy Andersen has written another great story in the Lords of Scandal series. The further you get in the series the more you feel a part of it. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.
The fourth book in this series, continues the story of the Chase Ladies. All the gentleman are rogues and rakes but each is assigned a lady to protect! But who is protecting who? Enjoyable read!
