He's bad to the bone... and she looks oh so good.

The Baron of Baderness is too dark, too dangerous for any clear minded lady to consider. And Lady Grace has her choice of men. So why can't she stop thinking about the one man she shouldn't want?

Lady Grace isn't his type of woman at all. She's too beautiful and far too perfect to ever be with a man such as himself. All she knows is drawing rooms and pretty gowns, while he has fought his way from the dregs of society. He shouldn't want her, and yet, every time she passes by, he can't look away.

…And another rake bites the dust! Tammy Andresen’s BARON OF BAD finds the beautiful Lady Grace to be more than just a pretty face who loves to shop, but he knows, with his background, even his title doesn’t make him good enough for someone like her. Having to protect her, as one of the ladies who discovered his gaming hell, which put her in grave danger from the Countess of Abernath. When Grace is kidnapped, he will do all in his power to find her and bring her home safely. How could he know his heart would be lost to plucky young miss or that she would return the emotions?

This time out, Tammy Andresen keeps the tension on more of a medium high setting, but it lasts throughout this entire tale! Their often easy banter is fun, and the attraction is right there, on every page. With a guaranteed happy ending, it is the journey that makes this one another romantic hit!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Blurb :

My review :

When miss bratty clashes temper with mister brawny

So it is finally the last in this series, well there is one last coming, yet I read it in a bundle published a bit earlier.
Grace is the youngest of the Chase girls, the last remaining unattached and one with quite a temper. In the previous book, I thought her a bit spoiled, what she is too.
Benjamin known as Bad is a hero like I like them, he was not raised as a peer, worse he grew up a street urchin, had to fight every day of his life. So it was engrained in him he is no nobility, and in his mind he must worship the path of a lady like Grace.
When he is the living proof of his own resilience.
Their romance is one rather smooth with less adventures than the previous ones, it is more a matter of fits of temper and miscommunication.
It is up to them to go past their own misconceptions of the other and accept to see past their own flaws to be able to love freely the other.
4 stars for this sweet tale of two souls dealing with their own ill suited vision of themselves.

I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Delightful

I really enjoy this series; the stories are linked, but each can be read as a stand-alone. I love that even tho they’re historical romances, they’re quick, fun and steamy. With a hectic work and family schedule, finding the time to read a 6 hour romance can be challenging. These are perfect for those of us who want a quick read but don’t want to sacrifice story development and well-rounded characters with dimension.

Hero’s past as a manwhore is briefly mentioned a couple times (this is why the story loses a star). Heroine is innocent. No ow/om drama. No abuse or cheating of any kind. HEA but no real epilogue

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💋💋
I admit to having a soft spot for this bad boy since the start of the series.
Ben, Baron Of Baderness , is one of the Lords Of scandal.
He’s the rip roaring, save the lady halfway across the country type ,luckily for Lady Grace.

He’s loved her from the start , even when all she’s done is make his life a living hell, gone against his advice and got herself kidnapped.
But why does he feel like he doesn’t deserve her thanks or praise, and why does he feel inferior to all his friends?
Read this excellent book and find out.

If I could have written this book , I’d have done it exactly like this, Tammy must have read my mind it’s perfect.
Ben has been my secret crush for months and she’s done him proud.
Thankyou Tammy ❤️

These Lords and the gambling hell they own have made for the best series!

Benjamin Styles, Baron of Baderness AKA Bad had a sad life that began when he was very young. He grew up in the streets and only in the last few years did he become a baron. He was still amazed at the title but growing on the dark streets of London, his expertise for keeping the peace at the gaming hell he and his partner lords owned, came naturally. Although, he wasn't born to the title, he carried himself appropriate to a man of title even in a world of debauchery. Now, he was in charge of protecting one of the sisters/cousins in the Chase family as each of the lords had taken one of the ladies to protect when a dangerous and mad woman was out for revenge.

Lady Grace Chase is the youngest of four daughters - she is beautiful, outspoken, brave, smart and doesn't like being unable to go about shopping etc. because of the danger & her new protector does not like her and all they do is but heads. She thinks he is pushy, bossy & mean & he thinks she is a spoiled brat. She is kidnapped right in the middle of a busy London street after running away from the carriage she been in, arguing with bad because he called her "spoiled". Now she needed him!

The kidnapping, rescue, bantering, their secret desire for one another and the romance all lead to a HEA and what a fun adventure it is! I highly recommend this book - Grace & Bad are a perfect couple, we revisit her great family - sisters & cousins & the other lords plus an entertaining story to keep you turning pages.

I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.

Benjamin Styles, the Baron of Baderness is too dark, too dangerous for any clear minded lady to consider. Lady Grace isn’t his type of woman at all. She’s too beautiful and far too perfect to ever be with a man such as himself. However Bad has been assigned as her protector when the Countess of Abernath sets out to ruin the noblemen who own a gaming hell through the Chase women. When Grace is kidnapped by the Countess, Bad doesn’t hesitate in giving chase.
This is the fifth book in this lovely series & I thoroughly enjoyed it, it made me sigh & it made me smile. I loved Ben who grown up on the streets of London & became a fighter before inheriting his title, he’s a self made man who has turned a failing inheritance around but he feels out of place in society & is sure he's viewed as a lumbering upstart. I also loved Grace who often put her foot in the mouth with her unwieldy tongue, together they bicker but the chemistry simmers. I read this lovely book in an afternoon, as quite honestly it was too good to put down. I’ve had a soft spot for Ben throughout the series & his story was just so good. Strong characters, a well paced story made for an engrossing read
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Can a secret pass keep them apart? You will just have to read Baron of Bad by Tammy Andresen book 5 in the Lords of Scandal series and what a series. Truly one of my favorites. What I love most about reading one of Tammy’s is her details of the scene. She can write such a clear picture in my mind and you feel like you are actually going back in time which is truly an amazing talent. Her stories are easy to read and you can’t help but fall in love with the hero and this story is no exception. Though in a series this can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read all 5 books in this series to get the full story. Baron of Bad has a secret pass, not feeling worthy, good friends, a kidnapping, death, rescue, madness, great banter, protection, revenge, a lot of misunderstandings and love. I highly recommend you read this book or any of Tammy Andresen’s books, you won’t be disappointed.

Great

I found this a really good book. Grace is a great character. She is the youngest and very beautiful but Bad thinks that he is not good enough for her. Can she change his mind.

I started this one among the series and my bad, a lot of happenings probably on those books because the entire book 5 was like a long epilogue.. If you want to enjoy it you should read the whole series because I don't know when they started to have feelings with each other.

We have here a lot of sweet declaration of love, somewhat cringy and what I don't like about in this book was how the author described the H as bad, dark, dangerous without giving you reasons or back stories how can they possibly considered as bad or dangerous, what they did to be called such moniker. same as with the h. I just don't get it. It lacks of characterization and justification. Or maybe It was written on the previous books.

Having read all the books in the Lord of Scandal books, really enjoyed every one, then along comes one that is so wonderful to read you cannot get enough of the read, real page turner.

The sensual connection between Ben and Grace if hot, hot, hot, the suggestion is there from the beginning and that is what kept me going to the end. Will there won’t there.
This book really fires up the sensual content between this couple.

Such a fabulous book, number 5 in the series.

I get connected to every single character in books that develop into series, love them❤️

Sensual content

Highly recommend each book in the Lord of Scandal series.

Benjamin (Bad) & Grace. The 2nd half of the first 6 books are much better than the 1st ones. We ended book 4 with Grace kidnapped and Bad chasing after her to save her.

Seems that her kidnapper (Abernath) had syphilis and that's what made her crazy. She was in the late stages of the disease. Bad catches up to the carriage and is shot at by Crusher (the bruiser Abernath had helping her). He shot back and Crusher falls off the carriage so we have a runaway carriage. Bad catches it and stops the carriage. Abernath tells Grace that she's sick and accepts that she was scared when she was engaged to Daring and ruined their engagement herself. Since she knows she's getting close to dying she is happy that Malice & Cordelia adopted her son and the lords that owned the club had planned to sell the club and use the funds to set up a fund to provide for her son. While her son is titled, Earl of Abernath, his dad wasn't fiscally responsible and left the estate in bad shape. The lords wanted to help him.

Crusher didn't die in the fall and starts shooting at Bad (Grace is in the carriage with Abernath). Crusher is close to shooting Bad but Abernath shoots and kills him. She dies afterwards. They take her body to the nearby village and meet with the constable and are cleared. They stay the night (in one room) and while Grace tries to seduce him he rejects her.

She wakes up pissed off and they leave. They get caught in a rain storm and pull into another inn. They have 2 separate rooms (but they're connected). She again tries to seduce him but he again rejects her. Bad was orphaned at a young age and none of his family came to get him (his parents died) so he was left in an orphanage and then turned out by the keeper when she contacted his family and wanted them to pay her a "finders fee". It wasn't until he was older that he finds out that he's is next in line for the Barony. When he inherits he learns to read but he wasn't raised in society and felt like an outsider. He didn't feel he was good enough for Grace (kept calling himself a street urchin). He can't fully reject her but they don't fully consummate (he gets her off though).

The following morning she wakes and he tells her that her family is in the inn and they are looking for them. The dress and go down to head back to London but are intercepted by her family. The family feels they could hide the ruination by spreading some other story that would protect her reputation. Her dad talks to Bad and Bad tells him that if her reputation is ruined then he would marry her instantly. He wanted to marry her but he also wanted her to have choices and be sure that he was who she wanted. He felt she was overwhelmed by the kidnapping and rescue and he didn't want her to regret their marriage after the dust all settled.

Back in London, Grace throws caution to the wind and confronts Bad in front of the other gentlemen. She tells him that she loves him and sings his praises. They have a very public outpouring of feelings and his friends were hounding him because he was holding back despite not wanting to. He had bought a ring that day and had planned to propose to her.

Her mother is super excited because she gets to plan the grand wedding that she's been denied by her other daughter marrying in haste. After meeting at night and sleeping together, Bad tells Grace that Daring had a boat that would sail to Scotland and dock near Gretna Green. They could elope. They did. Malice and Cordelia are on tour introducing adopted Abernath to the extended family and are there for their wedding.

They eloped and 2 months later they are finally attending a wedding her mother got to put on for Emily and Effington. I really enjoyed the whole Abernath villain storyline that spanned the first 5 books and I feel like she was understood in the end and forgiven.

Baron of Bad: Regency Romance (Lords of Scandal #5) – Tammy Andresen

Tammy Andresen has gathered the most wonderful group of characters in this series. We have our Scandalous Lords and our strong willed ladies who continue to thwart the unhinged plans of their now common enemy.

This is the story of Benjamin Styles, Baron of Baderness and Lady Grace Chase, their wild chase through the English countryside and their realization that they just might be what the other needs!

Grace has been kidnapped and her biggest worry at the moment is will Bad be able to find her and rescue her. Grace has grown to believe she really isn’t the most sensible woman in England let alone her family. Her sisters and cousins are far more sensible than she is and she is sure she isn’t more intelligent than they are, but she knew when listening and keeping quiet was the right thing to do. So she did just that.

Bad was not born to have the title of Baron, so at the age of four after his parents had died and he was put in an orphanage, his extended family informed of his whereabouts, thinking that they were being swindled after being asked for money just left him in the orphanage. He raised himself, on the streets of London. Bad was nineteen when he learned he was the heir to the title Baron of Baderness. Bad knew he wasn’t really a gentleman (but he was) and he never had the education of a gentleman (but he was trying to learn everything he could), he didn’t have a lot of self confidence in his ability to be a good Baron, but he was trying.

Starting off with Bad chasing the carriage carrying Grace and their two enemies through the English countryside, the eventual pistol fight, a night at an Inn with only one bed, a wound to be stitched, a seduction (you need to read the book to find out who was seducing who) this fifth story in the Scandalous Lords series was a most enjoyable read. The subtle humor brought by Grace to this story along with the caring way Bad has towards her gives this story the perfect set up for two hearts to recognize each other and give them the happy ending they both deserve.

This series/book has been a delight to read, it is one of those “warms you up giving you all the right feelings” that allow the reader to end the book with a bit of a sigh and a smile on their face.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an OK addition to the Lords of Scandal series, but it didn't have enough character development for me. I wanted more backstory on both Benjamin and Grace. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.

I was glad that the situation with the Countess of Abernath was finally resolved in this story, as I was getting tired of all the problems she caused. But I have to say that I really wanted a better explanation of why she was so bent on revenge, and why she was willing to hurt complete innocents to get it. I get that she was obviously a bit mad, but I would have liked to know what happened to make her that way. The story hinted that she was sexually abused by her father, but it was not confirmed. It was also noted that she had a serious illness, but not what it was (syphilis, perhaps?).

Benjamin was a bit hard to like at first, because he was really rude to Grace. It was later explained that he thought she would reject him, since he grew up on the streets -- so he was rude to hide that he was attracted to her. I was glad when she convinced him that she wasn't going to reject him, and wasn't concerned about his lack of social skills.

Grace was OK, but she really did behave like a spoiled brat at first. I get that she was frustrated with being forced to stay home for so long, and with Benjamin's rude comments, but still. I did like, though, when she later admitted her spoiled behavior caused problems.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Baron of Bad, Book 5 of the Lords of Scandal series, was about Lord Benjamin "Ben" Styles, the Baron of Baderness "Bad" and Lady Grace Chase, the youngest daughter of the Earl of Winthrop and youngest of her three sisters and two cousins.
Grace, her sisters, and cousins had discovered a secret of the six lords when they visited the gaming hell called Den of Sins that the men owned. In order to ensure that the ladies kept the mens' identities a secret from society, each one had chosen one of the ladies to watch over and protect in return, with Ben's choice being Grace. However, throughout the series, one or more of the ladies came under attack by a villain(ness) determined to out the men and ruin them. As a result, five of the six "couples" had fallen in love and gotten married, that is, all but Grace and Ben.
After Grace had been abducted by the villain(ness), Ben had been determined to rescue her. Once the danger was over and Grace was once again safe and in order to keep her from being ruined, Ben and Grace were to marry.
There was a tremendous amount of chemistry between the two main characters which was apparent by them constantly bickering with each other to keep them from revealing their true feelings.
(As a side note once again: There is no direct route from London to Gretna Green directly by ship. You would have had to stop in Newcastle Upon Tyne then traveled by carriage or horse.)
This story flowed faster than all the others so far in the series. It had less angst and drama, but it also explained in greater detail what the reason was for everything that had brought these men and women together in the first place.
I think, of all the books so far in the series, this was the best. Still not 5-star worthy and it won't get added to the Keeper for the Shelves collection, but it was a decent book.

The Baron of Bad is the fifth book in the Lords of Scandal series. This series is based on six noblemen who have opened the Den of Sin, a gaming hell but have tried to keep their identity secret. When their identity becomes revealed to the Chase cousins and siblings, the men decide they need to ensure the women don’t reveal their identity to anyone else. They vowed to keep them safe from Lady Abernath when she becomes a threat to the women. The books can be read as a stand-alone, but this book picks up from the previous book where Lady Grace is kidnapped and leads to the end of the danger to the Chase females.
The Baron of Baderness “Ben” agrees to watch over and keep Lady Grace safe. He follows the carriage when Grace is kidnapped from London. He knows her reputation will be ruined and is prepared to marry her, even though he feels like he isn’t worthy of her. Ben and Grace both have insecurities that they hide behind with their bickering. Can they overcome them and have their happy ever after?
This has been such a wonderful series. The Chase females were strong independent women who valued family. They challenged the men’s view of females and won them over. I really enjoyed reading each book and am sad to see the end. The last book in the series is the Earl of Sin, which was also part of the Lords, Ladies and Babies collection of novellas. It wraps up the series with their cousin Mary and the Earl of Sinclair.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Impetuous and impulsive, Lady Grace only has herself to blame when she is abducted by the enemy, Lady Abernath and her cohort, Crusher. More than anything she wishes that she had listened to Lord Baderness, known as Bad to his friends, even though he had said she was spoilt. If she ever got the chance she would kiss him, despite knowing that he has little time or patience with her. When Ben catches up to the ostentatious carriage, an old enmity between Crusher and himself rises once more, especially when Crusher makes disparaging remarks that infuriate Ben. The resolution to their problems comes quickly and not at all as Ben and Grace would have thought. Being thrown together, Ben knows that it is inevitable that he will need to marry Grace but with his past and history, he still wants to give her the choice despite his own feelings for her. This novel is a fairly quick read but does not lack in content or adventure. The attraction between the couple has been evident for a while but they both need to work through their own insecurities in order to acknowledge that they are worthy of the love being offered to them. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, but Bad and Grace's story touched me in a different way. This romance is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion, leaving me happy about the couple's outcome. I received a copy of this book a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I am not a writer and never could be. I could never do what these authors do. With that being said, I don’t write really great reviews. I don't rehash a story I just read when it already has a sufficient synopsis. If I like or love a book; I would just say “Love this book. You need to get it” or something like that. I am trying to be better.

Reading over 370 books last year, over 1400 in less than 5 years and hundreds and hundreds of different authors over those years, I have to keep a word doc to keep track of what books I read and the authors with notes about the books and authors as well as another word doc of new releases and their release dates. Seriously, it's the only way I can keep track of everything I've read.

With that being said, just the amount of books Tammy Andresen has if hard enough to keep up. I have read at least 40 of her books since 2017. Even though they are quick reads for me, I love pretty much all her books. I just like how she writes. She can grab your attention from the get-go. You can never go wrong by picking up any of her books but be prepared…you will love them so much you will buy every book she has.

Baron Of Bad is a fabulous historical romance by Tammy Andresen. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Unlike most of Ms. Andresen's books, this story didn't grab me on the first page. I think it took 3 or 4 pages before that magical something made me think, "Here we go!" Grace is kidnapped from the streets of London by the series evildoer, Lady Abernath and her minion. Bad, the Baron of Baderness, Grace's bodyguard, went racing after them. Bad and Grace's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from Tammy Andresen in the future. Baron Of Bad is book 5 in the Lords of Scandal Series but can be read as a standalone, but in the case of this book, it does help knowing the background from the previous books. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Book five in the Lords of Scandal series starts out with Grace being kidnapped by Lady Abernath and her latest lackey, Crusher, right off the street in front of everyone. Grace thinks all she has going for herself is being beautiful. She doesn't see what others see in her. She loves Ben, The Baron of Baderness, (AKA Bad) and wants to marry him and not have a season. She doesn't think he could love her.
Bad rushes after Grace and her kidnappers. He realizes after he saves Grace that they'll have to wed. He loves Grace but believes she should be allowed to chose for herself if she wants to marry him. He knows he's not worthy of her or belongs in her world. Neither one of them are good at expressing themselves so the other one knows what they're saying. They talk but don't listen.
Is their love worth fighting for? Find out in this awesome book by Tammy Andresen. This is another great read. I received an advanced reader copy of this book. This is my honest and true review.

I was so excited to finally find out about Bad and Grace. They have been in the previous stories and knew they would be fabulous and needless to say, it met all of my expectations!
Grace was kidnapped by the villainous Abernathy, who was seeking revenge. Finally we see what happens to that that viper and find out what drives her!
Of course Bad comes to the rescue and saves her and they live happy ever after. Wait! No it does not wrap up that nice and neat! As they are thrown together and begin to travel back, Grace tries to seduce Bad. He thinks he is not good enough for her with his past and that she would regret being stuck with him.
It seems as every turn they are at cross purposes and each taking what the other says wrong. My heart just ached for these two and I wanted to shout at them both! Yes, I know, but Tammy always brings her characters to life and I quickly become invested in the story!
I was holding my breath until the end to see what would happen. I can only sigh and hope another book comes out soon by this wonderful author!!

Benjamin (Bad) and Grace seem to have very little in common. He is a former street urchin and bare-knuckle brawler, who happened to inherit a barony from relatives who abandoned him when he was orphaned at 4 years old. She is the young, most beautiful daughter in a family of smart women. Her attention is focused on pretty hair ribbons and stylish gowns.

As it turns out, they have very important things in common. Among those things in common are a powerful physical attraction to one another, and serious self-esteem issues. This book contains a strong resolution to a storyline from the previous books in the series. I thought this story and the characters were very engaging, and it is probably my favorite so far out of this good series.

This book started out with a bang, a kidnapping, a carriage chase and a shooting, all in the first pages! Lady Grace is kidnapped by Abernathy, and while she is supposed to be under the watchful eye of The Baron of Baderness, Ben. When the chase ends, the love story begins. Ben never thought he was good enough for someone like Lady Grace, but she will batter down his walls and it’s a sweet story and I’ve read the other books in this series, and is a good addition. It was fun to see the characters return from the previous books, since they are all co-owners of a gaming hell.

This may be my favorite of the series so far, with a not-so-perfect hero, who is transformed into the man he always should have been with the help of a strong heroine in Lady Grace.

I was taken aback by the beginning, where it seems to start at chapter 3 instead of being the beginning of the book. So I had the feeling thourgout the book to have missed an essential part of it, because I'm one of those readers that want all the informations to be had, and not be hinted that there is something that happened before that should be known but won't be talked about because it is in the previous books of the series... Therefore, this book will likely be enjoyed more after reading the previous book in the series.
Except for that, the book was okay, but nothing trascendant. I have read and likely will read similar book, that kind of scratch my need for an historical romance, but does not quench my thurst for a great story.

This story genuinely filled my heart with gladness. I enjoyed the main characters Grace and Ben (Bad). Grace seemed to live frivolously never dealing with anything more serious than buying a new ribbon. Ben had a very sad and rough upbringing making him feel unworthy of love. But when these two got together their passion and attraction exploded and revealed itself in arguments and misunderstandings. But when danger came to Grace, Ben was right there for her. A wonderful charming story of how two people learn from their interactions that they love each other. I do recommend this. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

“We all felt that way at some point. Try to understand, you’re both new to each other and it can be difficult to admit how you feel because you’re not sure if the other will reject you. You’ll hold back and so will he.” Diana reached for her hand. “But he cares for you as much as you do him. It’s in his every movement, the way he touches you, the expression on his face.” She squeezed Grace’s fingers lightly. “Stop worrying. And if you really want to hear him say how he feels, tell him first.” - this statement surmises the story perfectly

I just finished book 5 this morning and am ready for book 6. It is enjoyable to have familiar characters appear in new books. We already know the personalities of these people and it makes the new book interesting. Ben and Grace's story continues the saga of the Chase girls and the rakes they marry. After a harrowing adventure that ends with the death of the villain, Ben and Grace must decide if their attraction is permanent or just build on fear and the desire for safety. The only thing that bothered me was the wedding of Emily and Jack in the epilogue. Didn't they elope?

The fifth book in The Lords of Scandal series. This one centres on Bad and Grace. To be honest, not a lot happens for the most part. There’s the usual ‘am I good enough’ scenarios from both of them with the gentleman having an obligatory past to contend with. I like the fact that characters from earlier books pop up quite often but again, a lot of the descriptive terms are very similar from before (‘nibbling her lip’ being one). But I still enjoy them and shall continue with the series as each book is quite short.
