Family is everything.

That’s the motto Maggie Lee lives by. She’s proven that she’ll do anything (even become an assassin…albeit an inept one, as God likes to remind her) to take care of those she loves.

Even when they drive her crazy.

But as Maggie attempts to reunite a young boy with his mother, her own family is in danger of falling apart.

The human members are facing a heartbreaking loss, the animals are mutinying against one of their own, and a missing skull is causing trouble for everyone.

Maggie may be able to save an innocent’s life, but can she save her family?

I love all the animals, but the new addition of Matilda the pig is beautiful. This series makes me so happy. I couldn't wait to start reading this book as soon as it went live. Thank you J.B. Lynn. Please keep writing about Maggie and her animals and all the hijinks they get up to. The voices are so real and individual. You truly are a talent. I can't remember the last time I plunked down money for 22 books in a row. That's a testament to how good you are.

But... please DO NOT let Maggie take Patrick back. She deserves to come first in a mans life. When he chose the other woman over her, I was done with him. There is no redemption. Gino could be a good romantic option. Or someone new.

Poor Maggie! One step forward, two steps back. So much happening in this book. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll be left wanting more! Can’t get enough of this dysfunctional family.

I truly enjoy this series, BUT-

I look forward to these small snippets of books, and that is what they are . What else can be said of , book so short.
I do appreciate the writer and love her characters. Each book has been a delight but extremely irritating in that as soon as you settle in to a good read ( TA-DA)
Book over and you are left with a huge cliff hanger !

I loved this book as I do all the Maggie books. Maggie—the person who has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She must help her family, Mrs. Whitehat, the Delvecchios. In this book which I read in one sitting it was so good, Maggie is supposed to get Boy’s mother out of jail so that she can be with Boy. She has been wrongly jailed due to lying witnesses. Also, the Delvecchios want her to find the skull that her father Archie had. In addition her family needs her and Darlene is threatening to leave and take Katie. All in a day’s work for Maggie. I don’t know how things will eventually wind up with Angel as Maggie does not want to let him know about her real relationship with his uncle. Patrick shows up and Zeke is there although I don’t think he is totally honest ever with Maggie. Most importantly though, God, Piss, Benny, Mike, DeeDee are there to support Maggie. She also picks up a new pet. Armani really is prescient. All in all a wonderful book!

Another winner! This is a fast paced and very entertaining story. In this book, Maggie's family relationships are strained as things come to a head with one of her sisters and her niece, Katie. Add in the general strife among the animals and Maggie's various jobs vying for her attention, and you have all the elements for a great story.

One this I particularly enjoy in this series is how Maggie has grown and matured over the course of the series. However, while she has grown, the novel is just as entertaining and humorous as ever.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I love this series. Yes Maggie Lee gets into more tight spots than humanly possible, but she also rights more wrongs, loves her family, and loves her animals more than anyone knows. She constantly puts herself on the line for her family. This was the first time that I can ever remember her family standing up for her. I was shocked and then almost cheered for the family's standing up for Maggie instead of Darlene.

Once again we have Armani's "magic" and her scrabble tiles predicting the future. We have the pets and farm animals joining together to watch over Katie and help Maggie. Loretta and Leslie have called a truce and are behaving better than ever. Even Archie manages to show up without causing problems! So many satisfying behaviors. But on the Delveccio side of things, Angel is angry and thinks he can't trust Maggie any more. Meanwhile Tony Delveccio is pressuring Maggie to find a missing skull. Then there is Zeke and Ms. Whitehat and their agenda for Maggie. Of course Patrick has to make himself known as well. Poor Maggie! Never a moments peace!

There couldn't possibly be any more fast paced, high energy story written. I always read the books in the series in one sitting as fast as I can. And I always moan when they end! They are consistently the most fun/exciting/unpredictable book out there. I can't wait for the next in the series!!!

Is it just me or does every one of these books make you so stressed out you want to reach into the book and smack Maggie to make her just say “NO! I CAN’T HELP YOU!!” She’s very difficult and although I understand the need to be secretive, I think she’s got a good enough friend that she can confide in and help lessen her load some. Accept the help from others and stop taking on the world herself. It drives me insane…however, that is exactly the reason I speed through these books in anticipation of what will happen next. I stay up until wee hours of the morning reading just to make sure everything turns out ok for Maggie and her family.
These really are great reads and when I get to the end of this series, I’m going to check out another book by JB Lynn. I like her style of writing because it really keeps me interested - stressed, yes - but, interested nonetheless.
Ok, I’m going to get back into book 23 The Hitwoman and the Exorcism (I’m only on page 13).

This series has you from the first word. JB Lynn is clever, funny, and loves animals. Must be why she created Maggie as her alter ego. Maggie saves Matilda, saves Boy(d) and saves the family. Katie is still thriving and cheating at Go Fish. Everyone is pulling together to make the family compound succeed. Well, except for Zippy, who was their first and liked it just the way it was before the family took over. Mrs. White hat is even smiling before the story is ended. More to come...lots more I hope. This author is very witty and she makes everyone feel good. Another book in her new series will be out soon. Can’t wait!

Maggie is in a constant state of crazy. Her family seems to finally be settling in at her Grandfather's farm but all is not well for very long. There's a new animal in the family fold and skull to be found with a mysterious past and a sister leaving town. While Maggie solves one problem new ones crop up. A crazy whirlwind of animal and danger Maggie handles it all somehow. Each installment of this series keeps me riveted from beginning to end. The author manages to keep the story fresh and interesting. Always a wonderful evening read.

WONDERFUL AND UP TO PAR!

This book was way too short... or it was so good that I had to read it straight through to the end. Which, if the 2nd one is true, it’s not fair because the author leaves us poor readers with a multitude of not solved or mysterious issues. Completely unfair! It will take another 2-3 books just to resolve everything happening in this one. I cry foul and unsportsmanlike behavior! Let’s hope that the author is almost done with the next book in this series and has outlined the book after that!

The newest installment in the "hitwoman" series was entertaining, but the number of story lines that actually get wrapped up in a given book seem to be diminishing. Once again there are multiple story lines that are on-going. I think only one is actually wrapped up-- the rest continue on into the next book. I'll keep reading because the series is light-hearted, humorous, and I know what to expect (also the books are fairly inexpensive), but I wish that more of the storyline was wrapped up in an individual book...

My favorite so far.

I love this book. The characters are so funny. I love the cat Piss the best. And the new load of mystery solving animals are the best.

I am glad some of the cliffhangers got solved in this book. Now there is just one. It is setting itself-up to be a good one. I can’t wait to see where this goes next. This was one of the best books in the series because the animals had a bigger play helping Maggie.

Maggie Goes to Prison

In this installment of the series, Maggie is tasked with going to prison to find out why a witness testified against an innocent woman. But the witness is murdered, so a new plan has to be made. Along the way, she rescues a pig, is tasked with finding a stolen skull, and has to find a way to keep her sister from taking her niece away. Will she be successful? Read it, and find out
You'll be glad you did!

Still loving this series, addictive

Okay so last book I was really annoyed at some of the family’s treatment of our beloved Maggie and writers antics frustrating the heck outta me and I was a little harsh of this awesome writer but it’s because I’m so damned invested now..so now I would like to bow to the awesomeness of Ms Lynn, I apologise for questioning anything and being annoying myself.

My go to series for getting away from life, and just enjoying an uncomplicated read. This was a good one, as always, but I’m hoping this series isn’t about to go too far in the woo-woo direction. Yes, I realize talking animals and special Scrabble tiles were already a step in that direction, and I know it’s a profitable genre, but I would really just love it if every cozy mystery series wasn’t about ghosts, witches, elves, faeries, etc. Fingers crossed….

The best book yet!

This latest book about Maggie and her family and friends is the best book yet! The story about Boy’s mom is interesting, and takes some very unexpected turns. The other areas that are messing with her life are funny, and a new animal is added to the mix. All in all a very good addition to the series. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

I would definitely recommend this series.

The book (as with the whole series) is surprisingly lighthearted though there are lots of tense situations. I absolutely love all of the hilarious and loyal animals. I tend to read through the books too quickly and can't wait for the next one to come out😁 I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Janet Evanovich or Laura Black.

This couldn't be a better book, with its clumsy hitwoman, scary mobster twins, people talking to animals murder mystery

Sound like to much to take in? Well it's not. I love hilarity with a murder mystery and a little bit of romance. Read the whole series, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic Entertaining Read

J.B. Never fails to give her readers the best enjoyment possible with the characters she creates . The fact that she has found a way to use both human and animal interaction to creat ongoing story telling is great! I would give her five stars for her review if the darn app would let me!

Haha

I can say that I never get tired of all the crazy antics that Maggie seems to get into. I think that pig is the cutest, and I’m very curious about what’s really up with Darlene because she’s seems kind of resentful or something. Even after all these short books the week is so deep with this family and those that surround them

BBQ

It was supposed to be a simple trip to prison. One man’s plan for a BBQ and one pigs plan for survival changed all that. Matilda is some pig. Zippy is a B plus itch. Maggie didn’t solve anything in this book. She did save someone and help a kid and mom. This wasn’t as funny as book 21, but a lot of build-up and pieces being set.

hilarious

Maggie is in more trouble than she knows. There is her sister Darlene. The situation with the family being uprooted and figuring out where they belong. The red head detective and delveccio becoming issues because of the relationships she has with each of them. Overall I am loving the animals they are so funny

Best series ever

As always the characters are so fun. The book reads so fast because I feel like I’m right there in the midst of all the action. So glad Katie is back where she belongs! The animals are amazing and Maggie is always just so fabulous! Can’t wait for the next one.

Deedee God and Piss are still my favorites

I love how Maggie has created her animal family and that each has her/his own personality. Matilda is a stinker, which is funny. But even she is loyal to Maggie. And where's the skull???
