Carolyn Keene is a writer pen name that was used by many different people- both men and women- over the years. The company that was the creator of the Nancy Drew series, the Stratemeyer Syndicate, hired a variety of writers. For Nancy Drew, the writers used the pseudonym Carolyn Keene to assure anonymity of the creator.

Edna and Harriet Stratemeyer inherited the company from their father Edward Stratemeyer. Edna contributed 10 plot outlines before passing the reins to her sister Harriet. It was Mildred Benson (aka: Mildred A. Wirt), who breathed such a feisty spirit into Nancy's character. Mildred wrote 23 of the original 30 Nancy Drew Mystery Stories®, including the first three. It was her characterization that helped make Nancy an instant hit. The Stratemeyer Syndicate's devotion to the series over the years under the reins of Harriet Stratemeyer Adams helped to keep the series alive and on store shelves for each succeeding generation of girls and boys. In 1959, Harriet, along with several writers, began a 25-year project to revise the earlier Carolyn Keene novels. The Nancy Drew books were condensed, racial stereotypes were removed, and the language was updated. In a few cases, outdated plots were completely rewritten.

Other writers of Nancy Drew volumes include Harriet herself, she wrote most of the series after Mildred quit writing for the Syndicate and in 1959 began a revision of the first 34 texts. The role of the writer of "Carolyn Keene" passed temporarily to Walter Karig who wrote three novels during the Great Depression. Also contributing to Nancy Drew's prolific existence were Leslie McFarlane, James Duncan Lawrence, Nancy Axelrod, Priscilla Doll, Charles Strong, Alma Sasse, Wilhelmina Rankin, George Waller Jr., and Margaret Scherf.

Nandini's Review::::The message I have learned from this book is that to hide one crime which happened by mistake and doing another crime just to hide the first mistake, makes us to pay even more. So its always better to accept/confess the mistake/wrong doing. This story in which Ian MacDonald the villain of the novel has asked his servant for performing burglaries. As he didn't wanted the Illegal Double Eagles Coins he had, should come in notice to anyone but at last he had to pay for both the burglaries/crimes.

It was a very nice novel I liked it.

Book: "NANCY DREW: THE BABYSITTER BURGLARIES"
Author: Carolyn Keene
Genre: Thriller
My rating: 2.5/5
🤓🤓
LET'S FIRST KNOW THE STORYLINE
The story is about 3 robberies that takes place in River Heights and the police find only one connection -Juanita Puentes who has babysat in all the three houses ( sounds simple right!?). Nancy is certain that Juanita is being set up for the crimes. She tries to prove her innocence by investigating.
🤓🤓
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Expect a book with a different storyline and different styles of an investigation by Nancy Drew. It has a decent amount of mystery elements. Unexpected robberies that are themselves unique.
🤓🤓
WHO CAN READ,?
Since the book is written in simple language and the style is easy, it can be easily picked up by a beginner reader
🤓🤓
HOW GOOD ARE THE CHARACTERS?
Character building is the most important aspect of a storyline. It helps the reader to imagine and picture the book. Unfortunately except Nancy and Juanita, no character is described properly.
🤓🤓
WHAT DID I LIKE
I like the writing style which was really very easy. The pace of the book was good. I was not bored for even a single page. The investigation style and the robberies we're not conventional.
🤓🤓
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
There were so many characters in the book that at one time I was confused between the characters. Either the character description should be so good that one could distinguish between characters or there should be fewer characters. Also, I was easily able to guess what would be the suspense at the end.
🤓🤓
MY FINAL VERDICT
Go for the book. Experience the investigation by Nancy Drew. It's a short read with about 149 pages

The book was such a mystery but I found it very interesting and I never wanted to let go of the book or stop reading, it was quite the journey. As I was reading the book so many thoughts came to me as to who might be the person they're looking for. The book was spectacular and I 100% recommend it.👍👌🙂

Fresh twist to have children play a role & mystery is clever, though I saw through it way before Nancy did, and there were the same formulaic handful of suspects.

My love of reading started when i was young, and it gives me immense pleasure to provide books to Spread the Word Nevada, an organization that passes them on to children in the community. They are a terrific organization supporting an important cause. If your local I encourage you to check them out. For those living further a field, look in your own community, their may already be a similar program in place. And if not, you can always help start one.

Myself, I go out on the weekends and
shop thrift store and bulk book lots to rescue books and donate them. Sometimes I'll find a book I remember reading when I was young and will read it again before passing it on.

I don't rate these books using my normal scale, instead I give most of them three stars. This isn't a Criticism of the book, simply my way of rating them as good for children.
