5 Star Rise of the Fire Witch
The red Supermoon eclipse tells of danger and has Roman, Commander of the Stone Sentries on edge as he patrols Boston from the rooftops. She has spent her entire life trying to be normal, but Larissa senses things before they happen, but it doesn’t help her the night she meets Roman and soon their harmless flings turns into something much more dangerous.
This gargoyle romance is a wonderfully compelling and emotional story that draws readers in and refuses to let go. The characters are strong, vibrant and really grab readers’ attention right from the start and the chemistry between Roman and Larissa oozes loads of electrical current from every page. The forbidden relationship between this hero and heroine is full of steamy passion and is full of emotional ups and downs that encompasses the whole range of feelings that someone could possibly go through which gives the reader great insight into their psyches which make it easy for the readers to connect.
The plot is fast paced, engaging and continuously builds adrenaline pumping, nail biting suspense that keeps readers glued to the words. With every turn of the page the readers are drawn deeper into the battle between the Stone Sentries and the demons, building excitement as Larissa and her friend becomes caught in the middle and for Larissa becomes a shocking discovery of a whole other world that involves secrets from her past. Lots of twists and turns that readers stay in a high state of anticipation throughout this story which is one amazingly action-packed and passionate read that they can’t put down.

Rise of the Fire Witch is a bind up collection containing the first three books in the Stone Sentries Boston series by Lisa Carlisle. I'm going to review each of these stories separately below but this was a fun paranormal romance series that you should definitely check out if you're curious about gargoyles!
Tempted by the Gargoyle:
Tempted by the Gargoyle is our introduction to this world and both of the main characters Larissa and Roman. Larissa is a police officer who has been suffering with PTSD ever since the Boston Marathon bombing, she loves her job but feels guilt over the people she couldn't save that day, especially her best friend Janie, a fellow officer who was badly injured in the explosion. Larissa has always been sensitive and long ago learnt to trust her gut instincts but while her ability may warn her trouble is coming it doesn't always give her enough information to stop it from happening.
Roman is the Commander of the Stone Sentries in Boston, they are a group of gargoyle shifters who do their best to watch over the city and protect the innocent humans living there. The eclipse of the red supermoon has them on high alert, they sense danger is coming but are still trying to tract down the source. Roman senses something about Larissa and he's not sure if she's involved with what's about to go down or an innocent bystander so he decides to follow her.
This was a really fun introduction to this series, I really liked both of the main characters and what we've seen of this world is really interesting so far. I've not read many books with gargoyle main characters so that was a bonus and I found Roman's abilities really intriguing. I hope we'll find out a lot more about him and the rest of the Stone Sentries as the series continues. I thought they had great chemistry from the minute they met and I was totally on board with Larissa's idea to take a walk on the wild side and have a one night stand, the night they spent together was hot and I could easily see them wanting to spend more time together.
If I have one complaint it was that some things felt a little rushed. I get that this is a relatively short instalment but since there are three books about these two characters I would have liked their romance to have been drawn out a little longer, things are quite serious between them already and that didn't feel realistic with them knowing each other less than 24 hours. I also felt like Larissa accepted what she learned about herself and her heritage a bit too easily and I definitely struggled to believe the way she was able to gain control of abilities she didn't even know she had pretty much instantly. In spite of those issues I do have high hopes for this series and I'm definitely looking forward to spending more time with Larissa and Roman in the next two stories.
Enticed by the Gargoyle:
Enticed by the Gargoyle picks up Larissa's story as she tries to explain a demon attack to her bosses, it goes down about as well as you can expect and she quickly finds herself placed on leave until further notice. It's not like she doesn't have plenty of other things to deal with though, she's just found out that she comes from a long line of witches but has no training on how to use her abilities, and she's still got to try and figure out a way to save her best friend Janie from the incubus induced coma she's currently in.
Roman and the rest of the gargoyles are also on high alert as they're still sensing demon activity in the city even though the portal has been closed. He is determined to keep his mate safe but when Larissa starts pushing him away he's forced to watch over her from a distance.
This is another action packed instalment of the Stone Sentries Boston series, there is plenty of danger from demons and we also get to learn more about Larissa's family background and see her start to embrace her abilities.
The one thing I didn't like so much was the way Larissa and Roman's relationship seemed to take a step backwards. They lost the chemistry from the first book and spent most of this one bickering which was disappointing since you'd really expect them to be in that honeymoon period. I was really annoyed by Larissa, she says some incredibly hurtful things to Roman when she was under the influence of dark magic that left him questioning everything about their relationship. That was completely out of her control but when she starts to come back to herself and realise what she'd done her first move should have been to immediately call Roman and apologise. Instead she just ignores it leaving him heartbroken for longer than necessary.
I do want to see them work things out though so I'm hoping the next story will be the best one yet.
Captivated by the Gargoyle:
There's only one demon left on this side of the portal and it's clear that Janie is it's main target. Larissa doesn't know why it is so determined to take her friend but when the worst happens she is determined to do whatever it takes to save Janie's life. Luckily Roman and the other Stone Sentries are willing to help but this is one battle that won't be easy to win.
Captivated by the Gargoyle is the final instalment in Larissa and Roman's trilogy and it was just as action packed as you'd expect. The stakes are higher than ever here when Janie is abducted by the demon king and trying to save her could end up costing Larissa and her friends everything.
I've really enjoyed seeing Larissa come into her powers, she's still learning exactly what she's capable of but she's come a long way and is getting stronger all the time. I was also pleased with the way the romance has developed between Larissa and Roman, they've both made mistakes along the way, and Larissa in particular had a lot of growing up to do but by the end of the book it felt like they were in a great place relationship wise. It was fun seeing the beginnings of a romance start to blossom between Janie and Arto, Roman's second in command. I think they are really cute together and I'd love to read a book about them both!

Roman and Larissa
Its official I have now read all three stories and let me tell you I did this in one day. The first book will give you the backstory of how they meet which personally was dangerous but it worked for them.
The second book will fill you in on the situation between Roman and Larissa along with the danger to the city and Janie. Let me tell you as humans don't believe everything they see until it is ripping you from limb to limb before your mind tries to convince you that it is playing tricks.
Book three is the wrap up and it was a dozy.
Knowing that Roman and Larissa are working together and working towards maybe a relationship in this book still gave the story some oomph.
Yes, you can read book 3 by itself but in order for you to get the full enjoyment I do suggest that you read book 1 into so as to get the backstory. These two will go through some things that the average relationship would never survive. The author kept the story moving and the characters interesting and had a well-thought-out so what more could you ask for in a book.

Rise of the Fire Witch by Lisa Carlisle contains the first three novels in the Stone Sentries of Boston Series. Tempted by the Gargoyle, Enticed by the Gargoyle, and Captivated by the Gargoyle. I LOVED these stories. If I could shout it in a review I would. There is action, love, and a connection that brings it all together. For me, that is what keeps me reading a story is feeling that connection to the characters, Ms. Carlisle really is amazing at connecting me to the story and making me want more.
I loved how in the first book Tempted by the Gargoyle Stone Sentries One: you get introduced to the world we are in. But there is no bogging us down either. I like how Ms. Carlisle brings that perfect balance of storytelling and moving the story along. It is hard to do in these kinds of stories and Ms. Carlisle does it perfectly for me.
Larissa is the heroine in Tempted by the Gargoyle. I love she is strong, independent, but has a softness to her. She has a lot to move past to find love, but once she does, she finds the most unexpected love and she finds out how strong she really is.
Roman is a gargoyle shifter. He is the commander of the Stone Sentries. He might be tough, but he has such a huge heart. I loved getting to know him. I also loved how Larissa brings out the best in him. They balance each out.
Each story in this series just makes me want more. I loved these stories and cannot wait to read more. I liked that I had three of the books in one place. It allows me to binge read and I love doing that. I highly recommend this series to lovers of urban fantasy, you have gotta get to know the gargoyles and the women who love them.

It all starts in Boston on the evening of the eclipse of red supermoon. Larissa Riley is a cop. She has not slept well since the Boston Marathon Bomb from a few years ago. Her relationships fall apart and work is her only focus. He best friend Janie talks her into a ladies night on the town. Larissa has a bad feeling but goes anyway.
There is an old folk tale that says you may find your soul-mate on such a strange night as this. Larissa meets a man. Roman is the commander of the Stone Sentries (gargoyles) that patrol the skies of Boston, keeping it safe.
Larissa is attracted to Roman and decides she needs a little fun, she ditches Janie and takes Roman back to her hotel room. Boston is under a supernatural threat and is being attacked. Who or what is responsible? Where is her best friend Janie? Is Roman involved?
Larissa has always known things before they happened. She has magic! Can she learn to use it?
You get three complete books in this series. They are action packed and filled with twists and turns and plenty of romance. The characters seem very real and I could not put them down. It is forbidden for a gargoyle and a human to have a relationship. Grab this series and learn about Larissa and her magic. Where is Janie? Has she been kidnapped? Demons? A Portal?
When it is cold outside grab this series, get a nice beverage and immerse yourself in Boston and the Stone Sentries.

Tempted By the Gargoyle-Larissa a witch who doesn't know know anything about her life after her mother dies when she is very young meets and falls for Roman a gargoyle commander who has been protecting the city since the bombing. She and her bestie Janie went out to dance the night away on the night of the red moon. Only Larissa went T-home with Roman. Enticed By the Gargoyle- Janie went home with a surprise no one expected until it was to late now Janie is in the hospital. They try to revive her but things do not go the way they hope and while Larissa is learning from her grandmother how to help her friend she doesn't know evil is close by. Roman has been on guard the gargoyles are aware there is a Demon still in the city and he wants what belongs to him but they are limited on the protection they can have at the hospital since humans don't want to believe what they see just like the night of the red moon. The commander and some hand picked soldiers and Larissa go to rescue Janie when she is taken to another realm. Awesome story line. Characters are all interesting.

REVIEW
Tempted by the Gargoyle-
I have become a huge fan of Gargoyle shifters and this author is why...
Larissa is human... a cop... and she has PTSD to some extent regarding the bombing in Boston. One night her best friend talks her into going out to a club. She intends to have fun but the cop in her never shuts off or down.
Roman what a sexy man he is... At first he thinks Larissa is some kind of paranormal being... he is very drawn to her and for the life of him he can't figure out why...
The night of the full moon will be one of excitement, suspense, heartache, and a whole lot of learning.
Enticed by the Gargoyle-
Larissa thought all would be good with her best friend Janie getting out of the hospital but this story takes us on another wild ride with Larissa and Roman right in the middle, beginning, and end of the action. The story picks up where the first one left us.
I am so enjoying these stories...
Captivated by the Gargoyle
It's all on deck for a portal trip... To save Janie and forever keep Larissa safe Roman commander of the Gargoyles makes the decision they will venture into the demon realm. Mistake? Perhaps but they must try to save Janie she is his mate's best friend but also his lieutenants' mate. This story is filled with action and follows right from book two.

Rise of the Fire Witch, an Audiobook by Lisa Carlisle contains the entire three book series!
First is Tempted by the Gargoyle. Roman is a Gargoyle…Commander of the group of protective sentries. He sees Larissa…and senses something around her….she could be a threat. I COULD NOT stop listening to this story!!!! Sooooo glad this Audiobook contains the full series…so, I could just keep listening!!
Next is, Enticed by the Gargoyle. Larissa is a cop and now her friend has been injured….no one seems to be able to help her…and the demons want her back!!! Meanwhile, Larissa is experiencing strange things..
Finally, there is Captivated by the Gargoyle. Everything comes to a mind-blowing conclusion in this deeply moving, engrossing series!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
This story was narrated by Kieran Flitton and Bridget Bordeaux. Wow!!! What a duo!!! These two are SPOT ON with their interpretations of the characters in this series. I appreciate that the SAME narrators were retained throughout!!! Helps immensely with continuity!!! They are excellent!!!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Part 1 Tempted by the Gargoyle: Crazy night. After 2 a.m. The Demons came out to play. Utter chaos plus the Gargoyles all taking to the air. One side defend the other destroying.
Part ll Enticed by the Gargoyle: So much is going on. Larissa's grandmother trying to teach her to work with her magic. Roman trying to see about Demons, are they here or just smells left over? So much in this part of their story. Really good one also.
Part lll Captivated by the Gargoyle: Larissa is a force to recon with. A strong witch, a good cop, and a very strong drive to protect and defend. So much happened in this third part. A scary detour finding Janie and getting her back. All three parts are so awesome. I enjoyed it very much. Now I want to find out what happens with Arto and Janie.

This is a wonderful collection that gives you all three books in this gargoyle shifter romance series. I fell so hard for Roman and Larissa and I became fully invested emotionally in this couple. I felt that they shared such amazing chemistry and I truly believed they were a perfect match. One of the things that I especially liked about this series was that this couple had so many things in common but also some very big differences. For me that added a lot of depth and realism to their romance. The storyline is filled with drama, danger, intense emotions, action, suspense, surprising twists and a bit of heat. As the story unfolds, their relationship evolves and their feelings deepen, these two must deal with the fallout from life-altering secrets and try to balance duty and desire, all while they work to protect humanity. An enticing and exciting series that should not be missed. Of my own accord I am posting a sincere review.

Rise of the Fire Witch, the Boston Stone Sentries boxset was totally worth the listen. It's a wonderfully written and highly entertaining paranormal romance shapeshifter romance with Gargoyle, Demons, witches, and fated mates, action, adventure, and plot twists. Loved the premise of the series; the storylines were dramatic and quite engaging, capturing my attention from the start to the very end. The characters are absolutely delightful; the mates had a powerful connection and sizzling chemistry.
Kieran Flitton and Bridget Bordeaux did an exceptional job with the narration, portraying the characters' personalities, emotions, and connections very nicely, bringing them to life. All in all, Rise of the Fire Witch was a fabulous listen; I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the conclusion. I'm definitely recommending this audiobook.

OMG! “RISE OF THE FIRE WITCH” is a ‘Witch and Shifter Fated Mates’ Trilogy from the Stone Sentries world that’s steamy, romantic, and an action-packed must read! I loved reading these previously as single releases, but was frustrated having to wait in between :o but now these three, 1- Tempted by the Gargoyle, 2- Enticed by the Gargoyle and 3- Captivated by the Gargoyle are all together with no waiting! ... Always unique plots, great descriptions, relatable characters and surprise twists that will keep readers turning pages like crazy! Even tho I always volunteer to read this author’s books, it is without any outside influences & I honestly do recommend this & any of Ms. Carlisle’s stories to adult 18+ fans of PNR fiction :)

I thought this was the first three books in a series but it is a trilogy and it follows the same couple.
Pleasant enough read, I just wanted more.
Book 1 was good. Lots happening and good characters.
Book 2 seemed to fizzle relationship wise. The heroine seemed childish which was strange as she was a police officer.
The demon realm part was interesting if a bit over dramatized.
Book 3 just didn’t pull everything together. Once again I just felt the relationship was all about the heroine. The hero was just there for sex.
Not enough about her witchy side and powers.
Did like Janie the friend and hated what she went through but she bounced back extremely well.
May read about her and Arto.
Read through Kindle Unlimited.

This is the entire series - books 1-3 of Carlisle's Boston Stone Sentries series. This series focuses on Larissa and Roman. We take exciting and dangerous adventures in each read and see these characters grow individually - especially Larissa as well as together. Lots of action and lots of steam. Definitely love that this series can be read / listened to all together as these need to be enjoyed in order to get the most from it. Dual narration is wonderful. I always love a dual narration as I think is usually helps being both main characters to life. Overall a great paranormal romance series between witches and gargoyles.

Very entertaining
In these three books you have the Main character of Larissa a human and a cop, and her best friend Janie who has gone though all things in life together with Larissa to include the bombing in Boston, that has scared them both in one way or another. The book starts on a night of the blood moon and once again the two will be going through things together again. Only this time those things include the supernatural type, including gargoyles and demons.
Then come the commander of the Gargoyles named Roman.
These stories are very entertaining to read. To much action and adventure throughout.
High praises to the author who I totally recommend to read her stories.

This was an exciting set of stories that really hit the door running and never looked back. Roman, a hot gargoyle, follows Larissa, a cop he's attracted to but decides to hide that under the guise of her being a suspicious character ;) She finds out there is so much more to the world than she ever thought...and gets an explanation to her mysterious talent. What follows is a great story full of action, suspense, drama, danger and a steamy romance. I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop deeper throughout the set. And I loved that these three books were bundled together for some serious binge reading fun!

Rise of the Fire Witch: A Witch and Shifter Fated Mates Trilogy is part of the Stone Sentries series. Larissa and Roman's story is well written in this trilogy that includes Tempted by the Gargoyle, Enticed by the Gargoyle, and Captivated by the Gargoyle. The characters are well developed with hot chemistry between them. The storyline is full of action, suspense, intrigue, danger, drama, and hot and steamy romance. It was nice to see their relationship grow and evolve in more depth with each story.

I do love getting to read all of the books in a trilogy one after another and stopping when I want to, not when I have to wait for the next book. In this collection we get a forbidden romance between cop and a shifter. Larissa and Roman had great chemistry and had me cheering for them from the start. Their love story is filled with action, danger, suspense, secrets, romance, drama and unexpected twists that held my attention from the first page of the first book until the last page of the final book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this trilogy.

Wow
Where to start with this one? Firstly this is brilliant value. The amount of fast paced story that you get in insane, and 3 books for one credit? Why are you still reading review just buy it already. Brilliant characters that captured my attention from the very first few minutes until the very last seconds. I still miss them they were that well written. This book starts out strong and finishes just as strongly

Gargoyles, gargoyles, and more gargoyles, this has three books in one and I really enjoyed them. Each one is about a different gargoyle and couple some I enjoyed more than others but overall it was great! I really liked this take on gargoyles and how the magic worked. The relationships developed really nicely and I kept wanting more of this world and these stories. They interconnect really well and we get to see characters that I loved a lot which was really nice.

Roman and Larissa’s story was great from start to finish. They were so similar in how protective they were and he was able to help her with her newly discovered magic. There was plenty of action and romance and the supporting characters were interesting also. I will definitely be checking in on Arto and Janie.

Absolutely Loved Rise of The Fire Witch. A new Twist on a Gargoyle Love story. Three stories in one book. Very Exciting, full of Mystery and Turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I am very excited about this story and hoping for more. Cannot wait to see who might be next.

The start of the Stone Sentries trilogy and the story of how Larissa and Roman met. A fast paced action packed steamy paranormal romance that makes me angst for more of the intriguing back story between our heroes and their archenemies, the relentless demons. Loved it!
