Producing everything from gentle chuckles to roll-in-the-aisle laughter, these stories, jokes, and quips will entertain and uplift you, no matter what your circumstances might be!
I enjoyed this book, even in didn't have rolling in the aisle laughing most of the time. I did LOL a few times though.
This is a good book for travel as you can put it down after a short vignette and pick it up again whenever--especially if you are in a bit of a grey mood. These are drawn from numerous sources and published by Guideposts. Women of Faith seems to be a loosely knit organization intent on doing good. Not much preaching, mostly that of Norman Vincent Peale.
I took the book with me to read at lunch with friends the chapter about the conversation between Erma Bombeck and Martha Stewart!! I nearly fell off my chair the first time I read it, and they felt the same. The book was worth that chapter, but there were many good ones. I also especially liked the questions answered by elementary school and younger children. (do we remember Art Linkletter?) All in all a good book to have or to share.
I enjoyed this book! Only one chapter did I not understand, and it was probably because there was a book from my past that I have not read yet that would have made sense. Other than that, it was not overly funny, but more sentimental and thought-provocating. There are always lessons to be learned. It was easy to read, and I appreciated all the references to each chapter mentioned at the back of the book.
