This is a story of a girl -- whom we are looking for. Not that we particularly know where to find her, nor how to begin the search, but not even whom to find. So, even when we find her, or think the one we have found is her, not only can we not determine whether she were the one we were looking for, we will also never quite fathom if the name we were responding to, that we based our entire quest on, be only voices in our heads. Where, there is the possibility that she is being written into being at the very same time as one is -- as you are -- reading. And, not just for us, the ones who read, but for the very one who is looking. For, as Tammy Ho Lai-Ming in Cotton Candy « one never knows what the next page reveals and withholds; and the reader is as baffled, and intrigued, as Jeremy Fernando's protagonist ».
