Liar has an agenda – to belittle, isolate, weaken, and control the villagers of Struggle. Amid the soul-ravaging effects of Liar’s influence, the villagers live in the shadows of isolation and shame. Without opposition, Liar wields his sword of destruction without mercy.
Until Prince arrives. Poor, orphaned, alone—the unlikely named villager sparks a rebellion, and in doing so, discovers his greatest weapon. Truth.
A woman lays dying from Liar’s wounds, but Prince is determined to save her. His brother is marked for certain death, and Prince must save him, too. Fear sends out tentacles of mistrust, but if Prince hopes to help the villagers, he must trust the King to help.
Join Prince in his quest to rally the villagers of Struggle to embrace truth and fight against Liar’s wicked army. The battle is only the beginning.
It’s Ted Dekker meets Brene Brown in this allegory of life and the death of truth.
Bernadette Botz has been a lover of words since she could hold a pencil. She has devoted the last trimester of her life to penning words that draw people closer to the Gospel, to own another, and to their own hearts. Married for over thirty years and having raised and home-educated five children, Bernadette writes from her home in Montana. She is a lover of mountains, prayer, poetry, and opera.
B.Botz has done a masterful job in her debut novel “Liar”. She has woven Biblical truths into a winsome story that is both stimulating and engaging. Those who have eyes to see what the Spirit is saying to the church will recognise a tale that begins in paradise, travels through the valley of the shadow of death, and culminates in a blood-bought victory. As you ruminate upon this treasure, deeper and deeper insights into eternal truths will be uncovered. As a Biblical counsellor, I highly recommend this book.
Creative. An allegory with a penetrating story line that lingers. So many quotes stick with you. It took just a little while to catch onto the storyline, but soon I was hooked and couldn't put it down. An important theme of trust, healing, and acceptance of God's gift of grace.
I’ve had this book since it came out and I am constantly recommending it to people. Liar is particularly potent for college students navigating their way through leaving parents and making their own way in the world. Reading each page brings me to a quote from my pastor, “countless men have died for their king, but only one king ever died for his people.” To learn more about who this king is, read on…
It took a little bit for me to "get it", then I was hooked, and now I can't stop thinking about it. (A year later.)
What a great way to etch a vision into my soul: how evil grabs us and doesn't let go! I wish ALL of us understood its truths. I wish MEN would read this and see what we ALL hide from one another, thinking it's the only way to survive.
This story will change how you see almost everything, I promise.
