Rule #1: Hide the monster.

Whispers surround me. Every time I walk down the halls of the academy, I’m terrified they’ll discover who I really am. If they do, I’ll never make it back to Mount Olympus so I can finally seek revenge on the god who ruined me.

So, note to self:

No flashing my scales, no showing my hair and absolutely no letting my eyes hit direct sunlight.

It won’t be easy, especially with three devastatingly handsome shifters who seem intent on destroying me.

A gorgeous griffin, a smoking hot sea dragon and a mysterious giant.

Other girls see them as swoon-worthy jocks, but to me, they’re just ruthless monsters. Then again, so am I.

I’m Medusa the Gorgon, after all. Cursed by the gods to be the most terrifying woman alive.

It’ll be a challenge, but I’ve been through worse. I’ll survive, as long as I don’t break rule #2:

Don’t fall in love with my enemies.

Stone Cold is the first book in Kate Nova's Gods & Monsters series, a medium-burn reverse harem story. If you love fierce heroines, hot alpha men, why-choose romance, and fantasy with lots of twists and turns along the way, you'll love this story.

You know what, this was fun. Yea stuff dragged and some plot twists were obvious. Sure it was flat in some areas. But it's a bad ass medusa and probably one of the better, easier reads of the bully trope. (It actually made sense this time and didn't make me wanna punch people)

I had fun. I may be biased as a medusa fan but yea. XD it was fun for me.

I want to hate the guys so badly. I keep saying I’m not gonna read anymore bully academy but I got suckered by Greek mythology. Medusa and three disguised monsters .The bullying is harsh and for most of the book I did hate all three despite it being multiple POV. At the same time I liked the story and where things seem to be going. Not sure how I feel about the fmc. A lot of complications. Will be interesting to see what happens next.

Stone Cold squashed all of my warm excitement early on in the book so by the time I finished this, yeah I definitely was left stone cold.

I think my severe disappointment lies in the fact there was so much potential from some of the elements setting aside the basic academy nonsense that this genre can't escape. Big bad monsters in human skin that could be as wild and ferocious as your imagination with our FMC who is Medusa, like bro where was the energy this characters demanded? It was such a shame to see Medusa and her harem stuck in the shallowest convenient traits that they were boring.

The plot itself is so bare bones for the supernaturals involved like it's just a decorated namesake thing for all of the bullying to happen which feels like it comes out of nowhere. The bullying is also just unbalanced with not enough interactive scenes to show these characters have chemistry. Medusa keeps mentioning her attraction to these guys who frankly show no shit to see past their bullying before they do a 180 in the end. Yeah I didn't buy that bullshit but Medusa does and it's disappointing. I feel like in a bully RH, the point is to see the FMC giving it as good as she gets. Medusa doesn't do the tit for tat thing even once.

All of the pages lost in the bullying, the action connected with the plot comes a little too late. I'm just looking forward to finishing this book by that time with how little this story gives me any content to get invested with the disappearances or it's connection to the beast keeper's grand evil scheme.

ONE EXCEPTIONAL ADVENTURE!!!
Incredible! Kate shatters the mold, pulls the strings and cuts the cord with this mind blowing, prize winning delight that blasts this jewel wide open. Delivering well rounded scenario's so intense you feel the pulse racing, electrifying hum running rampant through your viens. Pushing on-ward, coping with the trials and tribulations struggling with all the drama, skepticism, intrigue, anxiety and suspense builds, blasting this baby into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, throwing it into a tailspin with staggering impacts. Mix in turmoil and distress and you have one intense rollercoaster ride. Mastering the ups and downs, weaving a cocoon so intricately and tight, draws you deeper into this tangled web until everything else ceases to exist. Strong and solid personalities balance out and play off one another delightfully. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive to give you a full understanding and realism that blend and flows smoothly. Remarkable job Kate, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us.

What a brilliant spin on not only the school bully RH genre but also the Gods and Goddesses genre too. In this book Medusa's (FMC) persona is completely turned on its head and you see a different side to her. Ostracized and shunned not only in life but now in her new human school she has to learn how to fit it. Which is hard for her to do when girls go missing and the fingers start pointing to her especially by Callan, Liam and Griffin. A trio of hot guys who are making it their mission to get her to leave the school. Lies, back stories, plenty of sexual tension as well as being fast-paced and action-packed. Good god it was a great read. I cannot wait until the next book!!

There are several versions of the story of Medusa. I really enjoyed this take in her own perspective. I found myself sympathizing with Medusa so much while reading. I always enjoy books where the "villain" is the main character because you don't often see the other side of situations when they are told from the hero's point of view. This version instantly had me intrigued and following along as I learned more about Medusa, her time at the human school, and the reason that people have begun to go missing with all signs pointing to her. I look forward to seeing how this story and Medusa’s relationship with Callan, Liam, and Griffin progress in the next book.

I found this book a really good read, and loved the authors retelling of a Medusa story, including the Greek Mythology into the writing. I just found this story to be so good and I didn't want to put it down. The character development was well written and I enjoyed reading about Medusa as she learnt to be part of a human school. I am excited for the next book and finding out more about the relationships she is building.

I really enjoyed this story! Mix some mythology with modern times, add in a few monsters and some revenge, and you have Stone Cold.

Medusa is free from her prison and ready to seek revenge on the god who caused her to be cursed thousands of years ago. However she doesn’t expect to find three hot shifters who are intent on thwarting her plans, by whatever means possible. Will she survive this year and be able to get her vengeance?

I can’t wait for book 2!

She’s Medusa! Why is she not retaliating? And aren’t the monsters supposed to be trying to be heroic? This all makes no sense and I just don’t like seeing Medusa this way.

Meh

I truly liked the concept- Greek monsters and college- okay that sounds interesting. Unfortunately that was where the appeal ended for me.
I could not get into the story really. The guys went from complete asshats to "worshipping" her. I know some bully books have that scenario, but they have more dialogue and interactions which make them see the girl as more than an adversary. In other books the "bullies" go from hating to making deals or bets or conversations to liking then loving. This book, not so much- it's like they had split personalities with the exception of Callan. Everything felt forced and just conveniently answered away, as they were warning her for her own good. When she asks why (why her)..."you know why". I'm like No... I really don't know. What is she to them? It's not like a metaphysical "mating" call. Just physical lusting. Callan was the only guy to have had any revealing conversations about Medusa's character and even that was all of 2 pages. I liked her (Medusa) though so there's a plus. Side note: I want to know how she is ugly- okay she has scales and snakes in hair, the cover is misleading. Somehow she blends in though even with makeup. I just want to know how she is ugly I guess. This is really a 2.5 but 3 just for concept.

Wonderful well written plot and story line.
Well written characters that I can't wait to read more about.
Fabulous world building in this which just enhances it that much more.
So looking forward to more in this series.

In the per story we find out Zeus had mad Orcus the keeper of the beasts for 2 millenniums so far. Orcus has said Zeus made a promise if his monsters in Sicidonia could behave themselves for 2 thousand years they could have their divinity and plus their place on mount Olympus. A paper was found saying as much but Zeus added one more test to prove they're worth. They would be sent down to earth as humans to survive in a human school and show how heroic they could be to have their place here. Lol the plot gets interesting. Can these monsters go from monsters in cages to heroic humans to get divinity on mount Olympus? Plus what really does Orcus has planned? And there is one girl added to the mixed that Orcus didn't want there Medusa.
Omg wow you have got to read this one mystery, intrigue, betrayal, action and so much more. It will keep you at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. Medusa is a strong heroine wrongly cursed. She jumped to my all time favorites can't wait to see there this series go . So far it's a 10 and I can wait for the next book!
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it

I wanted to give this a higher rating, and the story was executed well, but there was no warning that this was a Bully Rh and I am not a fan of those. I cannot possibly fathom how one can fall in love with their bullies. I also cannot fathom forgiving someone for destroying the last thing of your mother's you own.

Lastly, there is a bit of a plot hole when one of the men starts to think about why they are being mean to our FMC and realizes that it doesn't make sense to be mean to her. Then, out of nowhere all of them were actually trying to protect her? It made no sense.

Medusa, trying to be good....

Medusa was a human and was cursed by Athena for allowing Poseidon to burn down her temple. She has been forced to live in a sea cave with no clothing and very little food. Suddenly she is sent to a human school and must blend in for a year to make it to Olympus, but must never become the monster she could be and do anything bad whilst there. However, the odds are against her, as well as the other students. Will she survive and find out what evil is befalling the school.
Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

The Gods are not very nice!

This is Medusa's time to shine. The events leading up to Medusa being cursed is heart breaking. After a millennia of being caged in a cave she has an opportunity to be freed. Griffin, Liam and Callan are also monsters with the same opportunity. Except it is their job to get rid of Medusa. It was wonderful to see how she was able to work through her isolation and even make a few friends. The danger isn't over yet, though. I enjoyed this book and am starting the next one.

after thousands of years Medusa was gifted to go to The Academy where monsters are being tested to be able to live like a human. 3 sexy monsters have it in for her but can she survive the school before someone kills her?
they were released from the depths of hell in Mount Olympus to see if they "fit for society" but they had other plans and falling for Medusa was not in the plans.
this is book 1 of the new series Gods and Monsters by the author.

I found the storyline interesting. Medusa is trying to end her curse and has to put up with a lot of bullying to achieve that aim. The students most against her are fellow monsters with their own agendas.

She is attracted and repelled at the same time. to these bullies. I liked the twists that happen as the story progresses and secrets are revealed.

It will be interesting to see where the story goes next.

Great story!

I haven't read many stories that deal with mythology and I may have to start. This story heads you from the start and doesn't let go until you're done. It'll be interesting to see where this goes, it could go so many ways. I do hope we get more background on the guys in the next book.

Good read

This is a first time author for me. I did enjoy the book but there were several pages that I skipped over because it was slow going. Fantastic characters and a good plot. It was confusing because each character was lying to each other so I still really have no idea what is happening.
