After a near-fatal adventure in another world—a world of dragons, no less—Samantha Moon is ready for her first real vacation in nearly a decade. With a little money in her pocket from the sale of a mansion left to her by her vampire sire, Sam sets her sights on a whirlwind European tour.
First stop: a castle in Ireland.
However, when a dark shadow races across her hotel suite, followed by something evil watching her son from a suit of armor, Samantha Moon is about to discover that her trip to the Emerald Isle is about to be anything but relaxing... it's about to get deadly. After all, something wicked this way comes—and it's here to settle an old score with the vampire detective and her family.
From #1 bestselling Kindle authors J.R. Rain and Matthew S. Cox comes Banshee Moon, first in the Samantha Moon's adventures through Europe, a collection of eight thrilling short tales to be published over the next few months.
J.R. Rain is the author of 110 novels and counting. He lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest, where he's hard at work on his next novel... and fighting off sparkly vampires.
Banshee Moon by JR Rain and Matthew Cox is a short story about Samantha Moon taking a well deserved vacation with family and Kingston. Thankfully my vaca don't end up like hers! A banshee follows her around Ireland. They soon find out why!
I debated on dnfing this a few times, but didn't think there was a point in dnfing with this book only being 43 pages. But what in the hell kind of mess did I just read?
The Moon family, Kingsley and Allison go on vacation in Ireland. First Samantha see a manager and then Anthony see red eye on a suit of armor. The manager lead Tammy into a forest while they must fight demands. Can they win? Great story.
A psychic vampire, a werewolf, a witch, the world's strongest telepath and a fire warrior go on a much needed European vacation, after a near-fatal incident in a world of Dragons. However, things take a bad turn at the first stop, a Castle (hotel) in Ireland. Samantha quickly comes face to face with a demon like ghost creature and a noisy but helpful banshee in the Castle.
The storyline was a bit predictable, but that's the thing to be expected with short novels like this one. Also, I feel as if Anthony (the son and fire warrior) really needs to sort out his farting issues. I'm not a fan of gastrointestinal problems or weirdo teenage boys discussing their love of farting via texting. Also, I'm a little creeped out that Sam's daughter, Tammy, who is almost 18 is dating an Elf who is over 100 years old (never mind they say he's considered to still be an adolescent in the Elf world).
I am awfully amazed at Sam's dimensional pocket where she stores her sword (the Devil Killer) that she can just magically whip out in emergencies. If I had a dimensional pocket I'd be storing my entire life in there, to be quite honest.
Authors J.R. Rain & Mathew S. Cox bring us the opening novella in the Samantha Moon Adventures. Samantha Moon is on vacation in Ireland with her family and some of her friends. While they're settling in at the hotel which is a castle a dark spirit comes into their rooms. Samantha goes looking for it but it isn't until they sit down to dinner that her son Anthony speaks up. What he tells them is that he saw two glowing red eyes from one of the six suits of armor. Samantha then teleports from where she was sitting to look at the armor but the sprite turns out to be a banshee, a tortured spirit that turns up when someone is about to die. Given what Samantha's family consists of there's only one target. This was a great short read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this adventure series. I highly recommend it to all monster fans,
Samantha has decided to take everyone on a great European vacation. The first stop on the vacation is Ireland. She can't wait to relax and spend time with everyone. While in the room of their hotel room, Samantha sees an entity, the feel evil. She doesn't know where it went. While going to dinner, her son sees red eyes. Then when there is an older woman the screams. Samantha knows the gang will have to take care of the problem or they will have more problems than what to do in Ireland. This was nice look at everyone in this book at once. I really enjoyed this short story featuring Sam and everyone. Looking forward to the next one.
I received an ARC copy of this book, this is my honest opinion
Sam, Kingsley, Allison, Tammy and Anthony start their vacation in Ireland, expecting it to be relaxing. However, it turns out to be quite the wild ride.
The hotel is a real castle.
A creepy shadow flits around Anthony's room, and Sam has to destroy the evil essence that comes out of a suit of armor.
Then they meet a banshee, who warns them of another battle with darkness about to take place.
I have always enjoyed the Samantha Moon adventures. However, the stories are now becoming banal. The thought of the Moon family (and friends) traveling around Europe intrigued me. But, the storyline has become tedious. i.e. Alison sensed danger, Tammy reads the minds of the otherworldly characters, a fight ensues causing Kingsley, Anthony, and Sam to kick demon butt to save the day. Now that they've spotted a leprechaun in the woods, guess what will happen in the next chapter of their Irish adventure?
Another will written fantasy world 🌎 adventure thriller short story book one Samantha Moon 🌙 Adventure by J. R. Rain. Samantha Moon 🌙 , Kingsley, family, and friends travel to Ireland to start a European vacation. The banshee leads them into a trap and they must fight for their lives. I would recommend this novella, series, and author too readers of fantasy, haunting, horror, and ghost 👻 stories. Enjoy the adventure of reading all kinds of novellas, 👍🔰, and books 📚. 2022 👒🏰😉😈
Samantha and clan are taking a much needed vacation and when they arrive at the castle she booked she sees a banshee and a Demi. Who are trying to get back at her for past activities getting rid of the demon in her by past. client. Nice to see Kingsley and Sam still together.
3 1/2 stars. Some people do not know how to take a vacation. Or maybe the evil ones don't know it is Samantha's time for a break with her family. Adventure in Ireland takes a whole new meaning when hell wants vengeance on the Moon family. Fun story.
So, the Sam Moon entourage goes on vacation. Sorta like the Griswolds, but with demons. These stories are great. They are entertaining and short. A lot of fun to read in a short amount of time.
Yes, it's about time Sam and her family and friends get some time off to take a well deserved vacation. Too bad it seems that wherever she goes trouble seems to follow. This, ( too short) story was great! Can't wait to read the next installment. Thanks to JR and Matt.
Very adventurous short story. Of course I loved every single page turn. This story has definitely become a favorite of mine.. Thanks J. R. Rain for sharing this world with fans like me.
We get to tag along on the vacation of a lifetime with the Moon Family plus Kingsley and Allison!! Can’t wait to see what crazy happens next!!! No such thing as a mundane vacation when you are Samantha Moon!!
Yeah this was short and sweet...pretty good, at least the mention of Sams family is back to 3 brothers and Mary Lou...all of the authors need to get on the same page about her family and upbringing...very confusing otherwise or just disconcerting but this was good
An entertaining and enjoyable read full of werewolf vampire and banshee type entertainment in an Irish type of setting with a few demons thrown in for good measure
