My boss is new to power. But the power he has over me is unquestionable.
I can't believe it when a hot guy literally slams into me. He's rushing into my work for a job interview. But it's like fate is bringing us together. I don't even care that coffee and papers are flying around. I'm busy looking at his tall, broad shoulders and dark eyes. I help him get fixed up in time for the interview. And thanks to that, he becomes my new boss. Now I find myself continuing to want to help him. And please him in any way he might desire. If the higher-ups at work find out, we'll be toast. I'll be his good little pet and keep our secret.
But some things are coming to light that we can't stop.
Tommy
She's not just a secretary. She's all I've ever needed.
I've had a rough past. So I'm not used to having money or success. My new job thrusts me into that role. Now I want to use the power I have on Melissa. Since she makes my c*ck hard and my knees weak. It's good she accidentally helped me get this promotion. Because some people here are really out to get me. And she knows the corporate culture enough to help. Together, I feel we can stand up to anyone or anything.
But I'm a bit busy tying her down.
Good Pet is a standalone full-length office romance novel of over 125,000 words. It was previously published in a different form as Getting Down to Business by Erik Evans. Jamie Knight and Mr. Evans have collaborated on this edited, expanded version that is part of Jamie's His Pet world.
This book has some dark parts and comes with a trigger warning for abuse and sexual assault. It has no cliffhanger, a very happily ever after and plenty of steam.
The His Pet series contains standalone books connected by characters who re-appear in each others' books and the same office setting, so they can be read and understood on their own but are best when binge-read altogether and in any order. Enjoy!
Tommy and melissa are made for each other from the get go! They will take you along for the ride that is their journey to finding themselves. Tommy has and alpha ready to do what is takes to get his everything and Melissa to finally getting rid of an ex boyfriend that is not fulfilling his full potential and submitting to Tommy. This is a wonderful journey to completion for these two caharcetrs with their ups and downs. I honestly reviewed an arc.
Idk what it was about this book. The description i thought was completely off on how the characters we're actually portrayed. I don't wanna give away any spoilers or anything but just keep in mind when you read this book that the roles are reverse, is all im gonna say. So the beginning was kinda weird for me until i got use to it once Tommy and Melissa were officially a couple. Not bad weird at all because no matter what i couldnt put the book down and when i absolutely had too i couldn't wait to pick it back up. The plot was very good and brought awareness to something that i don't think a lot of us think about. Now lets talk sexy scenes between Melissa and Tommy. They were hot for sure but I couldn't tell if he was a virgin or not and that bothered me for some reason. He would say something that made you think he was but do another thing that made you think he wasn't. Oh and that bonus epilogue for signing up was freaking amazing and hot as hell. In just that small epilogue I feel like it described their dynamic and relationship perfectly! Overall a really great book
Did you ever watch a horror flick desperately wanting to shut it off but can't because you are hoping for a happy ending? Of all the "Pet" stories this is the worst! Tommy is not an alpha. He's a virgin with a dominant desire his first time in the bed room. It doesn't mesh with how he's portrayed through out the story. Sexual harassment of any sort is unacceptable! 60% of the story revolves around Tom's boss sexually harassing him. It was disgusting. I really tried to finish, but after 70% and the characters personalities were too inconsistent and Tommy and Melissa calling each other "my love" before they actually dated or knew each other outside of work and two shared lunches. Proofreading needs attention too. Why 2 🌟 stars? Even horror flicks entertain some.
Tommy has an interview he is rushing so he isn't late and runs into Melissa, she sees what a mess he looks so she helps to straighten him out and wishes him good luck. Tommy has finally got the job he wished for working under a powerful lawyer but he soon comes to realise that this job is not what he wanted after his boss makes sexual moves towards him. Melissa comes to his rescue and soon everything becomes clear. Highly recommend this book and others from thus series.
This is the fifth book in the His Pet Series but can be read as a standalone. If you read the other books you will recognise many of the interconnected characters. This is an office romance where the man is desired by two women, his boss and his assistant. Lots of drama, plenty of steam and no shortage of explosive chemistry. Entertaining and fun to read. The characters are well developed and likable. A good read that has a HEA and no cliffhanger.
In this time of sexual harassment coming to the fore it is an interesting take that this covers men been harassed by women. This is actually Tommy and Melissa's story they are meant to be together They met the day he came in for a job interview but his boss has her eye on him and is trying to stop the romance between him and Melissa Can they have a future together You will have to read to see
I've never read a book dealing with reverse sexual harassment before, it was very unexpected. Well written it makes you realize that not only women need protection.
Tommy and Melissa have great chemistry but since they work together and one is in a more senior position.... This is a incredibly hot hot story with some twists and turns, great characters and a story that will keep you reading to the last page.
Office Torture This story has sexual harassment at it's finest. Read on to see who is tortured and who will prevail. I received an advanced copy for my honest review.
Romance genre: office romance Part of a series: Yes (His Pet) Length: 359 pages
Plot: This was actually an interesting story with a twist that I had never read before. Melissa is a PA ("just a secretary") at the company, and Tommy is a paralegal of sorts. Tommy is on his way to an interview for a promotion, and Melissa sees him and helps him with his appearance (he's very frumpy and ill-kempt with an oversized suit). He gets the promotion. In the background of this plotline, Melissa is dealing with an increasingly distant and mean long-distance boyfriend. Meanwhile, Tommy goes to collect his things from his previous office, and his coworkers treat him horribly. They say terrible things and even assault him by pushing him down. Melissa sees this, records it, and goes to HR, with the result of all the people involved being fired. Now, all Tommy has to deal with is his predatory boss, Ms. Vanacore. Vanacore wants Tommy, sexually, and she is very aggressive. Eventually, Melissa and Tommy begin a relationship (after she ditches the boyfriend) and she helps him get evidence against Vanacore.
Character development: We've met Melissa before, in Office Pet. Melissa was Kane's PA. In that story, which takes place before Good Pet, although I can't tell how long before, Melissa seems a little harder. Also, she's the one who ends up locking and unlocking Reese's chastity belt so she can pee and wash herself, so that was something that stuck in my mind. It didn't really mesh with who she is in this book. Tommy was the really interesting character. I've never seen a book where the male employee is sexually harassed and assaulted by his female boss. Vanacore was a predator, and Tommy reacted how a lot of victims do: he froze. Most people know "fight or flight" but there is a third reaction - freeze. That's exactly what Tommy did on more than one occasion. He felt like he couldn't react, as though his body simply wouldn't let him. There's even a scene where she makes him take his pants down and she punishes him with her cane. I was a little disappointed that that scene never came up again, but I understand him not wanting to tell anyone. To add to that, Tommy's dad verbally abuses him. Tommy use to be fat (his words) and he still feels like he is. That did confuse me a little, because Melissa notices his round, chubby face, and notes how adorable it is, but goes out of her way to tell him he isn't fat. It sounds like maybe he used to be overweight and is now just solid (although not necessarily muscular). Regardless, he definitely hits the right spot for Melissa. In return, she took care of him, helping him get clothes that fit him to start, so that he could look good and feel better about himself, and it did work. I did find their dynamic to be confusing. At times, Tommy was dominant, and at times he seemed quite submissive. Melissa was the same way. They both went straight for the sexual relationship with a lot of very specific dirty talk that I wouldn't have expected.
Grammar/formatting: some misused/incorrect/misspelled words. This author generally needs an editor.
Would I read more from this author/in this series: Undecided Next book in the series:Beloved Pet
This was actually a 3.5 for me, mostly because I liked the different take on office sexual harassment.

While the story line was very good, the editing needed more work! Many times double words were missed, punctuation was weird and sentence structure made for some confusing moments. Please check your editing personnel are more conscientious in their work.
