Rykaur is the Bracadyte that always helps the humans at the entrance. Well, he has eyes on a little human of his own, unfortunately he thinks that she is a prostitute and has been with some of the other men. Yeah, she totally isn’t, but she is being made to steal their money and other valuables for one of our America’s Most Wanted bad guys…no I can’t tell you which one, you have to read it. She has children to protect and he is holding it over her. Unfortunately, instead of telling Rykaur, who she really is and why she is with him in his home, she keeps it to herself, but they find out. There is a scene here that may be a trigger for some. They hold her and one of the guards whips her…not cool and pisses him off, but my sweet Zaureth heals her, so it works out. This is made much worse because she grew up in foster care by people that were awful to her and abused her all the time, so she has a fear of enclosed small spaces. This scene pulled out a lot of emotion from me and it broke my heart for Mary. Good news in this book, one of the bad guys goes down, made me dang happy. Oh and we get a little surprise when some more of the Bracadytes kind, the Arcadians, show up and Thrasher aka Melvin has to show them who’s the boss in the training room.
This was a safe read, she was a virgin, no om, a little ow drama, but they shut that down pretty damn quick. These two were also hot af, burning up my kindle hot, so a shit ton of baby batter. Great storyline. All the same great characters that we are all incredibly fond of, including my Zareuth….yeah he’s mine, just ask me. I absolutely love this series, one my favorites. I always want more and it’s never enough...book hangover for sure. BookCrackSeries
