Maravillosamente ilustrado por Marta Altés es un pequeño compendio de las fábulas de Esopo (obviamente no iban a adaptar las 400 que hay), de las que ya conocía algunas: "La liebre y la tortuga", "El asno con piel de león", "El Ratón de campo y el ratón de ciudad", etc; y desconocía otras: "El perro y su reflejo", "El mono y la raposa", "El pavo real y la grulla", etc...
A mi sobrino de 5 años le han encantado, no solo por las coloridas ilustraciones, sino también por las rimas de sus textos a cargo de Elli Woollard.
Solo he echado a faltar que citaran la moraleja final, y aunque el aprendizaje se sobreentiende, a mi pichoncito se lo he tenido que explicar yo porque no venía en el texto explícitamente, sino sutilmente, pero es el único fallo que les he encontrado. Valoración final: 4'25 ⭐fabulosas de 5.

Een heerlijk boek met allerlei Fabels geschreven in de leuke stijl van Elli Woollard. Ja, die zie je ook door de vertaling heen, gelukkig. Ik heb genoten van de verhaaltjes en de gedichtjes en herkende ze bijna allemaal. Ja, ik heb er ook een tweetal nieuwe ontdekt, nou ja, misschien ken ik ze al, maar zijn ze iets verder in mijn geheugen weggezakt en herinner ik ze niet meer. Mijn favoriete twee blijven de jongen die wolf roept en het verhaal over de schildpad en de haas. Hihi, die domme haas. Hopelijk heeft hij wat geleerd van zijn acties.
De illustraties waren echt fantastisch, Marta Altés heeft het weer gedaan. Kleurrijk en schattig.
Echt een aanrader. Als je al een fan bent van de fabels, of fan wilt worden, of gewoon houdt van mooi geschreven boeken (met mooie tekeningen).

Heerlijke fabels om (voor) te lezen voor het slapengaan. Met ongelofelijk mooie illustraties. Enige reden dat ik het geen vijf sterren geef is dat (vermoed ik) de vertaling soms wat stugger en minder melodisch is dan ik had gehoopt. Maar eentje om zeker nog vaak terug boven te halen.

Schitterende illustraties. Maar voor mij haperde de rijmende vertaling metrisch te vaak.
