A wicked fae. A vampiric prince. A grim, impossible bargain. The Drowned Lord holds Valentine’s soul in his rotten hands. For a hundred years, she’s been forced to do the wicked faerie lord’s bidding. In a desperate effort to escape his grasp, Valentine decides to end the contract with her own death—but a vampire named Percival Atheling inconveniently saves her life and steals her heart.
Sane human beings don’t meddle with dark faeries… but Percy is both far from human and far too clever. When Percy decides to wager his soul for Valentine's, she has only a year and a day to ensure that he wins—and the Drowned Lord has never once lost a bet.
The fourth novel in the Faerie Lords series offers up a bloodier, more sinister modern faerie tale romance. Take a walk on the dark side with Crown of Salt, a book reviewers call “the faerie tale to end all faerie tales.”
Isabella August writes steamy modern faerie tales. She lives in Montreal, Quebec with her fantastic, prose-inspiring husband and her two cats. She is fond of smart, trashy books, and is unaccountably obsessed with pineapples.

ONE INCREDIBLE TREAT!!! Smokin'! Isabella totally nailed this bad boy 100% on point with all the swirling emotions running rampant kept me riveted and frozen to my seat. I couldn't put this bad boy down had I wanted to. All the drama, uncertainty, intrigue and suspense increases while tension spirals. One engaging storyline and gripping plot propels this baby roaring to life brilliantly. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances that make for one thrilling experience. Witnessing the trials and tribulations the characters struggled through blazed this baby together without a single crease. The chemistry is intense, sizzling and explosive. The characters are authentic and realistic with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Awesome job Isabella, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
What a great series! Valentine is owned by the Drowned Lord. She is hoping this time on shore will be her last, she is hoping to finally die. Percy comes across her and can't leave her to die, so he takes her home. When she wakes she is shocked, and angry. She soon realizes that Percy is not human either, but vampire royalty. There is an attraction between them, but she fights it at every turn, not wanting to bring the wrath of her Lord on him. Percy will not give up on her and soon she lets him into her heart. Now Percy has made a deal with the Drowned Lord and has one year to fulfill it or lose her forever. Great story line and I love how the other Lords are brought in and all the twists and turns their story takes.
This story proves that love wins out over evil, even evil a hundred years old. Percy is a vampire who has not let his evil appetite conquer him. He happens to be handy in the little seaport town of Hull to which Valentine has chosen to return to die. After many years of suffering at the hands of the Drown Fairie Lord doing his evil chores, she is ready to give up the ghost. But Percy saves her and leaves himself in debt to her so she'll come back to collect favors. He even heals her voice which used to star in the local church choir. But when he challenges the Drown Lord for her body and soul, the high adventure with much suffering begins. A good read for those interested in Fairie Lords, Warlocks, and Vampires!
This was incredible. The story was so well written. You get sucked in with the emotions that this brings out. Valentine was a great character. She just wanted to be loved and was betrayed by the one person who was supposed to love her til death do they part. Then in comes Percy. He turns her world upside down and vows to help her break her "bond"; so that she will be free. The trouble that they go through and the other unsavory characters they have to deal with make this book one that you can not put down until you finish it.

Valentine has felt nothing for years. Percy is different then the others of his kind. Neither can deny the pull. Will Valentine and Percy find a way out of what her captor wants? Will Valentine allow herself to feel?
LOVED getting Valentine's story. I honestly think Percy was the perfect match for her in how he was light compared to her dark. I loved how despite what was happening, Valentine was determined to do anything possible to protect Percy. Good read and cannot wait for the next one in this series!

A great story about love and sacrifice. Warlock Valentine (FMC) has been in forced service to the faerie king The Drowned Lord for over 100 years. Injured, bleeding and hoping for death to release her from her tortured life she goes back to her hometown of Hull to die. Things dont go according to plan though when Vampire Percy finds her and patches her up. Which starts of a tentative friendship that leads to one of love. Such great characters. I love Valentines quick wit and loyalty. Also i love Percy's quirkiness and gentle nature even for a Vampire. Just a lovely read and i really liked it
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. The short story of eroticism of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

I'm loving this series of stand alones! Each book follows a new couple I've read from the beginning! Well written story's! Great characters!! Amazing job!
The twists in this tale just adds spice to an already exciting and adventurous tale that will shock you. I highly recommend this tale and eagerly await the next book in this series.
Solidly written, this is a nice book to pass an afternoon with. Although clearly based on the titular fairy tale, there is enough originality to interest.
