A very enjoyable, light hearted sci-fi adventure. Mild mannered Britisher Colin Douglass is awakened from suspended animation by relic hunter Tyresa. How things have changed! And how they haven’t! I liked this book a lot.

I didn't get very far into this book at all. The two main protagonists were had personalities I found repellent each in their own way. One too whiny to tolerate seeming to have far to low an IQ to have possibly kept their job for as long as they supposedly had. The other to selfish and self absorbed to tolerate and also not seeming to have the IQ to have the doctorate the story claims. And aside from IQ both are complete fools who wouldn't know common sense if you sat them down and gave them a comprehensive lecture on it.
I was given these impressions so forcefully within the first two hours I just couldn't stomach it anymore. The overall feel the book gave me was sort of similar to hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy but without the characters having a fraction of the charm of HGttG...

My basic reaction was that the author is trying too hard to be Douglas Adams. I regarded the "funny" description with a mix of curiosity and scepticism, as that's a subjective judgement, but I can use a good laugh.
I didn't get it (the laughs), although I could tell where the attempts to provide it were. It's not a bad book, but it's not great, and certainly not "funny", at least to me. I do have a darker, more ironic (in the true sense of the word) sense of humour, so you may find it more amusing. I'll still give the next one a try, as the basic story is interesting and the writing is competent.

Immensely enjoyable, with nods to hitchhikers galaxy, Futurama and sci fi in general. At times Brilliantly funny, a great start to a new series.

Read the book. It’s side splitting funny they said. Read the book. You’ll laugh all nite they said. Well, they said wrong. To me it wasn’t even remotely funny. Not even a chuckle. Nope. Maybe you have to be a Brit to get the humor but I sure missed it. What the hell is a dogsbody anyway?

It was a bad day for Colin Doouglas. Firstly, he was sacked from his job, replaced in his insurance job by a computer, then he discovered someone had broken into his car. Head aching and sight spotted by little white aliens, he ends the day going to his doctor's appointment to learn that he has an incurable disease and only a few more weeks to live. And yes, this is a comedy. Colin opts for a new form of cryogenics. And there we leave him - for a very long time. Until after the Earth has been lost and a new planet promoted as the birthplace of humanity...
This book is a delight. Perhaps not quite the non stop hilarity promised, but nevertheless funny, and how refreshing for the humour not to be totally dependent on schoolboy jokes and toilet guffaws. This is a good, basic thriller, too, not overly original but simply and well presented so it retains the excitement of the chase. A great intergalactic adventure story for all ages. Narration is expertly performed by Steve West who's English accented voice was the perfect foil for Colin. Not only did Mr.West individually voice all of the protagonists, his reading was perfectly paced, with good intonation and with a close adherence to the emotions of the text. His delivery really enhanced the reading experience.
My thanks to the rights holder of Interstellar Caveman, who, at my request via Aethon, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. Perhaps not a contender for a prize in high literature, this book is sure to bring a smile and lightness of heart to any reader, especially fans of science fiction. Highly recommended for an enjoyable read.

This isn't a Isekai novel, but really it might as well be. The way it starts. It's really similar to Denis E Taylor's Bobiverse. Starting out with a cryogenic pod. But from there everything goes ascue. I immediately fell for Colin the MC. Empathizing with the predicament he finds himself in... then waking up where no 20th century guy has gone before. With a whole new reality awaiting him.
Karl Beecher writes with a light touch and it shows up in the book. So go grab the book and be entertained as Steve West doles out a superb performance.
And a couple of quotes...
"Shoot first, ask questions, then shoot some more."
"And we can't even find a man who sticks out like a Bic on a wedding cake."
"He suddenly became aware of his eye brows, which had lifted so high up his forehead they were close to adding a couple of centimeters to his height."

If you like funny as in Python type British humour then you will adore this book. There is no need to write a synopsis but what I will say is this is brilliantly written with just enough intrigue to keep you turning pages.
I mean " He's not the messiah, he's just a very poorly boy" would be an excellent line to have in a funny novel, don't ya think? Anyway if you have a sense of humour (or if American a sense of humor) and like a good read with interesting characters, places and a dash of thought provoking themes then stop read this drivel and click buy already.

Dry wit romp through the stars
It wasnt what I was expecting but I still enjoyed it. I especially liked how Colin the Caveman came to be a couple thousand years in the future on a starship! I cant wait to find out what actually happened to Earth and if he ever gets a cure. Not nearly as funny as I like but I did enjoy the dry british wit. Im definitely going to read the next book in this series.

Been there done that story line
While there is little to criticize about the writing the title led this reader to expect more humour than what was encountered.The plot ,though well used,has been encountered too many times by this reader to have much impact.Hopefully younger readers will enjoy this well written story.

4.25 quite funny at times, fun overall
Most important note: read the endnotes as you go along at the end, they will made me at least smile and occasionally snort! This is a really rather British story in space, and that should be enough to make you want to read its silliness. Mr. Beecher you better save him!

So what if, if you have read "We Are Bob", than this is not it... although ppl are still Nazis and and as always white preachers are the problem... anyway its a light read... main character is whiny weak white guy but thank god there is a strong-smart woman... the weak man part was a little annoying but "stronK-woman" was charming so overall experience was 4/5... good space story...

I think it's probably just me, but I felt the bumbling, emotionally and intellectually inflexible, English dude space-shenanigans had been thoroughly covered by HGttG. The dialogue consisting endless variations of "What is even happening?!?" got tiresome quickly.

Worth your time reading
I don't know if I would call this book funny, but it was a good story worth reading. I think a lot of the "humor" in this book was intended for an English audience. I liked the book and enjoyed reading it, but I did not find it funny.

Not bad, not great. There is a second book in this series at this time. This one spends a lot of time setting that second book up. I'm not sure right now if I will read the second one, if I do I'm not in a rush for it.

Short, fun read. It looks to be a good start. Reminds me of Hitchhikers Guide of course. Similarly, I will probably continue on to the next couple in the series.
I recommend the audiobook. It is well produced and performed.

If you're looking for "side-splitting intergalactic adventure that will keep you laughing into the night" this isn't the book. No humor at all. Started out pretty interesting but plunged deep into the boring. Don't recommend. Narrator was good.

Started off great, was fun and entertaining.
Half way through, it became a thinly veiled attack on non Christian religions. Really weird, a let down, made me feel quite uncomfortable.
