Okay!...

A woman decides to take a walk through a cemetery. Of course, not a good idea.

A father looks for his missing teenage daughter at a weird, late night carnival. His past comes back to haunt him.

While a young widow grieve for her dead husband, she dreams that he visits her every night.

I liked the first story best. It is very scary, but the last story has a very interesting ending.

The only thing scary about these stories is the cover. These stories are not at all scary or what I would consider horror stories. A couple were interesting, but just not scary.

There are only three stories in this collection, but they are satisfying. All convey an odd sense of claustrophobia- even though none of them is physically cramped. It’s a feeling of… being smothered by the unseen. Being stalked by the unknown.

The first starts with a woman taking a late afternoon walk through a deserted cemetery and the woods behind it. Even though it’s in the middle of a developed area, it seems to go on a very, very long way- and something is following her.

In the second, in the middle of the night, a father searches for his teenaged daughter in an eerie carnival that has mysteriously popped up next to his house, only to find his past catching up to him.

The third finds a grieving widow facing real horrors in her house; horrors that her friend thinks are grief induced. They aren’t.

A quick read, but worthwhile. Four stars.

I liked the stories but some parts were so fake and others were very realistic, which I understand is the point of the stories. I think they could have used a little more spice, especially in the carnival story instead of just jumping into a problem with the daughter and dad. Maybe could have told what happened to mom first then led up? Overall good read and I love that I can take 30 minutes to read in between school reading.

The hits just keep on coming. I absolutely love these collections. They can be easily read in one sitting and are top-notch works. In this volume you get a horrific stroll through an old cemetery that doesn't end well, a father searches in vain for his son at a carnival of the damned and a demon claims the widow of a man it killed earlier.
The authors at Scare Street are among the best in the field, imo. It is difficult to continually come up with new and unique ways to scare people and these writers do it time and time again. Don't read these stories late at night.

I have to say Scare Street has done it again. A combination of short stories that are clean, no swearvwords, frank sex or bloody gore. The storylines of each are a different plot with believable and interesting characters. As the other titles state they are short so you can read through them in a night or save and do a story a night to stretch it out before bed. Not sure I'd want to read horror before bed as it would creep me out. What are the sounds you hear? Did you look under your bed? In your closet? Did you lock your doors? I enjoyed these short stories.

these Short Horror Stories books! They are always awesome and they don't take too long to read. Sometimes after reading a few longer books it's nice to take a little break from that and read something shorter and these stories hit the spot! Ron Ripley and the other Scare Street team never disappoint! Story 1 and 2 are freaky and the 3rd story is super freaky so if ur in the mood for a quick scare you've got to check these out!

Awesome stories

I'm so glad these stories are not as gruesome as the picture on the cover. They still have that since of fear, though.

These were different from the later ones. I felt some of these were stilted, but still a good story to give you a shiver!
