Let me start by saying this book wasn't horrible but it did have two major factors that made me reduce stars. 1st it's one of those books where the main character is being chased by bad guys but no one wants to give her any information in order to keep her safe. For real she doen't start to get answers till around chapter 10. She doesn't get the full scope of what's going on till maybe 2 chapters before the ending. Because of this is my #2. It feels like the whole book is running from place to place between pieces of backstory. Except the back story still doesn't explain why the bad guy wants her.it does get bonus points for an interesting concept and I have a hunch book 2 will be much more interesting I just don't think I'm interested enough to read it. 😔

Very interesting and original story

I like this book and enjoyed reading it. There were many telling parts but generally a fantastic storyline that will get you reading till the end. You will keep wondering about Lucy's life and what would happen to her. The unusual two people Embry and Gabriel who kept visiting her would also make you go deeper and deeper into the story. Then comes the Big Bad who was after her, this will make you wonder all through put the novel searching for how she would survive. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone interested in a good and original storyline with deep background into the past.

This book had an interesting premise. At the start, I got a bit of a Vampire Diaries vibe with Lucy's doppelgänger situation, and the two never-aging men who loved her and swore to protect her, and I was expecting it to go that way. I was expecting either a love-triangle, or a slow-burn romance, neither eventuated (maybe it's coming in the second book?).

So, what did we get?
- Secrets
- A scene at prom, which I thought was going to relate to the over arching story line
- A best friend,
- A male best friend, who was paired with said female best friend
- Then a whole lot of running and hiding and being discovered.

Interesting

Lucy has lost so much. Her parents are dead. Her grandmother is gone. The housekeepers and their son Sam must raise her. Gabriel and Embry come to visit when she's little and become her guards. It seems they have a vested interest in her safety. Someone wants her dead and have gone after all of the women in her ancestry line.

Sam is now married with a daughter of his own. He knows what's at stack with Lucy. He knows that Gabriel and Embry are very old and their job is to protect Lucy and keep her away from Donavan. Can they do it?? Who will be the next one to lose their life??

It's an interesting story. Read on my friends

I can definitely tell who love the old nineties tv shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Highlander just by reading this book. This book was kind of an interest melding of the two. A girl and her protectors are hiding from the Big Bad, who is just one of the many, many people who can come back to life if they did. The premise is very interesting if just a little detail orientated. I usually fly through books with these plots because, I myself loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer and my dad loved Highlander, but so much detail was put into this novel that it took me quite a while.

I really did enjoy this book. It has a complicated plot, well written characters, and so much action that is well worth the read.

The story was amazing and I really enjoyed reading it. The ending however was a little bit of a cliffhanger.

I love the cover so I had to give the book a read.
It was an interesting concept. I did feel for Lucy since no one was really willing to explain why she needed to run for her life.
I did like Embry and Sam, I loved their characters. Gabriel I was warming up to.
I much enjoyed the scenes from the Past to build up Lucy's ancestors and the story.
Overall, an interesting read and I would consider reading the series in the future.

The idea behind this book is a good one but it felt like it went too slowly and maybe dragged a little. This story follows Lucy, the heir to the prophecy along with Embry and Gabriel, immortal beings that are meant to protect Lucy and any of her descendants. I don’t think I will attempt book 2.

Prophecy was definitely a worthwhile read. It did have some parts that moved slowly, but it always held my curiosity of what was coming next to keep me reading more. I read a mixture of genres, but this book seemed to have a different spin than most that I have read of its kind. I'm really looking forward to reading on and seeing what happens next. Dying to know if Annabelle CAN or WILL come back. Will Lucy end up with one of her protectors? Is she a blend of Annabelle? And WHO is the big bad? Some answers that kept you reading were answered but just as many questions arose with the end of the book to make me want to keep going. My only complaint (aside from the slower moving sections) is that there wasn't a preorder link at the back of the book, as I would have definitely clicked to keep going.

This book has some very interesting concepts overall. It felt like the author gave a lot more description than necessary for the first 5 chapters and this gave it a slow start (there was a lot of detail that I felt like could be left out without you missing out on the story, almost like they got caught up in trying to convey the scene that you pictured with half of the description used). By the end of the book I felt like the author had found a decent amount of detail to story ratio. The author is also trying to give you a pretty complicated story, while keeping a lot of it a mystery. It is kind of like they gave you all these puzzle pieces and things start clicking and making sense as the book goes on.

That being said, if this story came out around 2005 I feel like I would have understood all of the references to movies and music. The book does not give you a year that this current story is taking place in, but the main character has just turned 18 and makes references to things that were popular in the 90’s and early 2000’s. These references are not common, but I feel like they age the book instead of making it more timeless.

I do appreciate the creativity behind the story and I plan on reading the trilogy (guess putting the first one up for free to read paid off for the author from this readers point of view).

The book does have suspense to it and it builds throughout and makes you want to jump into the next book immediately as by the end as you finally have the big picture as to what is going on.

The vocabulary wasn’t anything strong throughout it, so if you read books with a love for how the author can string words together this book will not fit that fancy.

There is some blood/violence mentioned within the book, but it does not go into deep detail on it, which I personally find preferable.

Great read!

Thanks for an amazing, exciting, entertaining, can’t put it down book without all the unnecessary cursing and sex. Something I can allow my 10yr old to read and highly recommend to others. Bravo.

Really good!

Unique plot, good writing. Clean. Characters are well rounded. Only thing not fleshed out enough is the villain and his motivations. Can't wait to read the sequels.

I loved it! It kept me wanting to continue reading and trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I do not want to give away any spoil alerts, but the supernatural power gives me hope for things that may happen in the future. I don't know when book two will come out, but when it does, I will definitely order it!! Great writing, lovable characters, and interesting story line! Keep writing, Amanda Lynn Petrin, and I will keep reading!

I enjoyed this story as it has a lot of secrets and surprises. You need to keep on your toes as you read and remember what the author reveals. It's a modern fantasy with a little science fiction thrown in. The characters are interesting and act in unexpected ways. But you have to be prepared to read the other books to know the rest of the story.

Urban Fantasy with a lot of mysterious characters

This fantasy surprised me. I don't like giving away anything, so I'll just say it had a lot of twists I didn't see coming. It was a fund read, and I very much loved the characters. I can't wait to read the next book.
