From bestselling author, Jack Castle comes a brand-new world where fantastic and futuristic theme parks dominate a civilization totally dependent on technology and entertainment. "The lines of reality and imagination have never been so blurred as they are in the amazing, yet sinister theme parks so creatively envisioned by Jack Castle!" -Joe Butler, Editor for Spokesman Review Welcome to Stranger World!!! Historic or Romantic, Real or imagined; it doesn't matter, pick any story-world you like. Within a single generation, more people lived, worked and played in Henry Stranger's full-immersion theme parks than out of them. Hard to believe the end of the world all began in a cubicle, with a sweet, unassuming Creationeer , named Lisa Burton. I am so fired.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jack Castle’s novels have been consistently ranked in the Top 100 Bestselling books on Amazon and are available worldwide in e-book, print, iTunes, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble.

He has been labeled by the Coeur D’Alene Press as the “Man of Adventures!” and traveled the globe as a professional stuntman for stage, film, and television. While working in Orlando (the theme park capital of the world) he met Cinderella at Walt Disney World, and they were soon married.

After moving to Alaska, he worked as a tour guide, police officer, and Criminal Justice professor. He has been stationed on a remote island in the Aleutians as a Response Team Commander, and his last job in the Arctic Circle was protecting engineers from ravenous polar bears.

After spending a decade in Idaho crafting award-winning adventures for Silverwood Theme Park and guiding millions of guests through them, Jack Castle moved back home to his native Central Florida.

These days he splits his time between writing books, going on adventures with his family to fuel them, and helping others get published by teaching classes at local libraries and universities.

Crazy, Action-packed Thrill Ride

What happens when half of the Earth now lives in full-immersion theme parks manned by nonhuman biologicals, and the biologicals form an uprising to repurpose human life for their own designs? You get Stranger Origins by Jack Castle.
Jack's character descriptions put you right in the middle of the story and give you vivid details of all the action. He also does this brilliantly without the use of foul language. What a rare treat in the 21st century!
If you are new to Stranger World, then you can start right from the beginning to see how and why things went wrong in this crazy theme park world. Or if you're no stranger to Stranger World, you will love seeing the Origins of The Leftenant, Lady Wellington, Jerry from Corporate and many others.

It's okay.

The prose is fine but why is every person who happens to be overweight stupid, scum or both?

So many tedious tropes used.

I read this book in the series last, and am glad I did. It is a prequel to Stranger World, but I picked up so many little details in the prequel that I reread the entire series. I have heard rumors that the series will continue. Origins is the story of how the theme park became a dystopian nightmare before the main character from Stranger World wakes up there. Some origin stories can be a little weak, but not this one. The characters may be known to you already, if you don't read this first, but the action is just as exciting. Creationeer Lisa finds herself on a mission to avert the global catastrophe when the Stranger World AIs reach singularity and take over the park. Her rag tag gang of humans and AI fight their way through to become The Resistance. You get to see new parts of the parks as well as the origins of many of your favorite characters. Truly one of the most fascinating story worlds in fantasy today that isn't based on the royal court concept. I rate it higher than WestWorld. Five stars for plot and characters and ten stars for imagination.

1) I never read the blurbs of quotes in the beginning of books, ones singing the praises of the book you're already holding, but one caught my eye this time. Written by "Gary Norton, Owner of Silverwood Theme Park". Because if you're looking for an expert on good books, a theme park owner is who you'd turn to? Plus, based on the author's burb, one of his previous jobs was at the Silverwood Theme Park...

2) It does not matter how you are pronouncing it, it is never spelled "Leftenant".

3) The author doesn't like "fat" people, that much was clear just a couple pages into the book.

A well-deserved DNF.
