Chasing Dreams is a standalone second chance romance written by author Angela Gray. It tells the story of Jolie, whose father is the president of the Angels of Fury MC. Hunter is also a member of the MC, and his uncle is the vice president of the club. The two meet at the clubhouse when they literally bump into each other. Jolie has been through a lot and has many triggers that cause her to have panic attacks, but he’s the first man that hasn’t triggered her. Hunter has a lot of feelings for Jolie, but there is quite an age difference between the two.

When I first picked up Chasing Dreams, I thought it was going to be more of a biker romance. I would say that the first part of the book was within the biker world, but then it veers off. I was slightly confused by this as I wasn’t expecting it. Overall I liked it, but I was hoping for a little more of the MC world.

Jolie has dreams but to have them means losing Hunter for 10 years as she becomes famous. Interesting story from a new author I took a chance on.

Review

Chasing Dreams is a romantic drama by Angela Gray. It’s a love story about two people who have been apart from each other to pursue their dreams, and later on, met each other again after 10 years. I enjoyed this book and felt every bit of emotion that the main characters have been harboring for years. The author surely has a gift in instilling the right emotions. I also like that the narrative was straightforward, and the dialogues and text messages between Jolie and Hunter were entertaining.

The story was good, but there could’ve been more to make this a great book: (1) Hunter’s job could’ve been more established. I have no idea what he does, except that he’s a successful businessman, (2) I’m confused about whether Jolie’s an only child or if she really has a brother who was only mentioned once in the story, (3) It could’ve added a thrill to the story if the stalker came back to haunt Jolie again, and (4) I rarely mention this in my reviews because I know that even the most phenomenal literary works have errors in them, but I have to say that this book has poor editing that is impacting the reading experience.

Overall, I’m giving this 3 out of 5 stars. This novel has so much potential and it pains me to give this rating, but I certainly did not waste my time reading it because I enjoyed every minute of it. Hence, I recommend this to young adults. I think it’s something that readers ages 18 - 25 or anyone who’s young at heart would love.

One of the best books I've read. I couldn't put it down and turned it around and read again. I totally fell in love with Hunter and Jolie. The chemistry between the two was hard to ignore. Glad I read this. Glad I gave it a try.
