This was a very informative book! I liked that it had some words in bold to help expand the readers vocabulary, and had a lot of various pictures as visual aids. The book had some Jokes that revolved around hedgehogs, i. e. How did the hedgehog play leapfrog?.....Very Carefully. It also provided some cool facts about hedgehogs like the amount of spines a hedgehog could have or the number of hoglets.

I also really liked that the at the end of the book it had a picture and word match up on what was learned through the book, as well as a small glossary with pictures that went over the vocabulary words.

I picked this up for my 2024 book buddy who told me she likes hedgehogs. This is an introductory book about hedgehogs -- their size, geography, homes, and contributions are explained with a variety of photos and vocabulary. One needn't know anything about the animals going into this book. This is the first of two books I'm giving because my buddy may not be reading at grade level.
