This book is a must for anyone wanting to master professional looking bags, that do not cost that much to make.
l have made quite a few of the authors bags and one of my all time faves is the Squiffy Sling.
This book takes you through from Introduction,Tools and Materials,Fabrics, Techniques, Core skills, to show you how to achieve what you want from a bag.
You learn how to insert pockets on the outside and inside, what type you want easily.
You learn tricks for inserting zips, hardware and bling to handles and straps.
Each section has photo's to guide you through to the finished item.
You also learn how to make darts and gussets to make your bag shaped and wider to hold an abundance of stuff inside.
the author also talks you through resizing and gives you photo's for you to follow.
Then onto the project. you can make 8 Bags with pictures, diagrams instructions, top tips, How to line your bag and also how to finish it off.
An added bonus is the pattern pieces at the back of the book, to either cut out or to trace with pattern paper. You also get a section about the author and why she makes superb bags for everyone to master. l would recommend this book, if you want to have a go at making your own bag, even if you are either a newbie of a sewer of bags. It is a refresher course for some and a bible for others to use. l know l am glad to be able to use it.

Samantha takes the intimidations of bagmaking and turns them into manageable steps in all of her patterns. This book is no exception, as it outlines many techniques that have saved me much heartache and time with a seam ripper. The included patterns are beautifully consistent with her standalone lines of patterns and I can't wait to make all of them!

I didn't expect it
I had a coupon for this book so I only spent $2.00 for the book. I was amazed at how much I got from it. I've been sewing for 40years but I still found useful tips. My favorite was using basting tape for adding zippers. I guess I added so many zippers from clothes to bags I wasn't afraid and didn't look for new ideas.

Good but...
Lovely projects, but the printable patterns aren't available. It gives a website, but just sells more books. Then redirects you to another website saying that templates are not hosted somewhere else. But I searched and searched and could not find it. But some projects are made without patterns and just measurements, so you could make those at least.

EU not US verbabe
Took me a bit to figure it out, metric measurements with US conversion. Bag patterns were not my style and I would have been disappointed if I had purchased instead of reading w kindle unlimited.

Not super interested in the patterns, but the techniques will be invaluable. There's a whole section on adding different kinds of pockets! This is the book to reach for when you want to get a bit advanced and make changes to a pattern.
