Expert bag designer, Mrs H, has created a collection of the latest bag making techniques and 8 full-size bag patterns, based on her popular weekend bag making retreats. This collection of bag making techniques will teach you how to sew better bags. Learn all the key techniques including: adding different types of pockets; inserting zips; making handles and fastenings; using the latest bag hardware and how to get a flawless finish.
In addition to these techniques Mrs H treats us to eight varied bag projects. Choose from a dainty clutch perfect for an event, through to a generously sized hold-all for a weekend away. All eight projects have full-size patterns pieces on the pull-out sheet so you can get sewing straight away and join her growing band of 'bagineers'!
Samantha takes the intimidations of bagmaking and turns them into manageable steps in all of her patterns. This book is no exception, as it outlines many techniques that have saved me much heartache and time with a seam ripper. The included patterns are beautifully consistent with her standalone lines of patterns and I can't wait to make all of them!
I had a coupon for this book so I only spent $2.00 for the book. I was amazed at how much I got from it. I've been sewing for 40years but I still found useful tips. My favorite was using basting tape for adding zippers. I guess I added so many zippers from clothes to bags I wasn't afraid and didn't look for new ideas.
Lovely projects, but the printable patterns aren't available. It gives a website, but just sells more books. Then redirects you to another website saying that templates are not hosted somewhere else. But I searched and searched and could not find it. But some projects are made without patterns and just measurements, so you could make those at least.
Took me a bit to figure it out, metric measurements with US conversion. Bag patterns were not my style and I would have been disappointed if I had purchased instead of reading w kindle unlimited.
This book is so well laid out and photos so precise that it has given me the confidence I need to venture into the amazing world of bag making. I especially appreciated the links to all the resources. Well done Samantha!
