Sitting down to write my latest book I was overcome with a need to write about my friend's recent loss. Sitting, watching my beautiful baby girl play, the grief was inescapable. I didn't know Albie, but somehow he's been a massive part of my journey over the last year. Feeling crushed by the sense of loss that came with Albie being taken too soon whilst my little girl grows and becomes her own little person is difficult to come to terms with in so many ways. The world can be a cruel, bitter place. Writing helps you to find meaning in pain. Loss is perhaps the greatest pain of all. These words aren't my pain; they are the pain of those who have loved and lost little angels who got their wings too soon.
