incredible book. Great help in learning characters. Constantly refer to it. All three volumes sre useful for anyone learning Chinese. Should be reissued.

Explained in a simple, logical manner how chinese characters are constructed, I never knew how to write chinese characters but have managed to recognize a handful of characters.

Covers 176 hanzi characters, teaching the story behind the radical, showing the stroke order, the words usage, sentence structure and on occassion - even going over nuisances. A really good book.
