I like these theological focused commentaries, but it would be best read with an exegetical commentary. The Book of Daniel provides hope with the political situation seems hopeless (155). The author writes from a Christian perspective but often draws on Jewish scholars and shares how both the church and the synagogue have interpreted this book.

Solid little commentary from a moderately conservative perspective, though it holds to much of this book being written in the name of Daniel in response to the threat of Antiochus Epiphanes in the days of the Maccabean revolt. Provides a lot of good historical background in a concise manner.
