Birdie has been alone most of her life. Even before her mother took off for Chicago, Birdie’s been in the one in charge of her household. She has her own small apartment and a decent job doing the books for her one friend, ol’ Mr. Higgins. She doesn’t need anything else—particularly not a man who steals her phone and then her tampons just because she can’t locate her grocery store loyalty card.
After his parents were killed in a freak car accident, Nick moves his grandmother to a small town in southern Illinois where he plans to grieve and plot a course of revenge. He doesn’t have any intentions of falling for the girl at the grocery store. He didn’t mean to steal her groceries but now that he has them, he’ll have to figure out a way to return them even if it means using her phone number he memorized inside the grocery store. Once he laid eyes on Birdie, he realized he can’t live without her love—and her loyalty.
Well folks, Ella Goode has done it again. I completely loved everything about this book. The characters, the banter, the insta-love, the humor, the fact that it was dual virgin, just everything. The hero, Nick was perfect and the heroine, Birdie was funny as hell. Gran and Mr. Higgins was a great add on to the story as well and loved how feisty they were. -dual virgins -dual POV -no OM OW drama -no cheating or abuse -love how the H loves the h -epilogue 3 years out This one will definitely be going into my re-read pile. Most of Ms. Goodes stories usually do anyway. Don't hesitate on this one. You won't be sorry, I promise.
I received an ARC for my honest review and opinion and there ya have it. I'm only sorry this book had to end. I will definitely be purchasing it one when it releases.
The banter, the back and fourth with our leads Nick & Birdie is comedy gold.
That first meeting in the grocery store? Dying... I could picture it. But her response had me on the floor. She’s not your normal leading lady and I loved her.
Throw in her boss Higgins and his Gran and you have a classic solid romance read. This authors a one click for me and she never fails to deliver.
The chemistry, heat and the sexy times are scorching hot.
I put this down a week ago because it annoyed me that he wouldn't tell her his name right away. He's one of those heroes who's enjoying being with a woman who doesn't know that's he's uber-rich and important.
Ahora solo espera poder protegerla...
This was a pretty good story. Birdie and Nick don’t start off on the right foot. He annoys her but she can’t seem to stay away from him. Nick fears for his life and that of his grandmothers. He knows Birdie is the one for him but he doesn’t want to put her in danger. This one ended completely different than how I thought it would. I would have liked it to be a little more in depth. I enjoyed Nick’s grandma, she was entertaining.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow/om drama. Both virgins. No abuse.
The man of her dreams just stole her tampons? No, the annoying man that happens to be sexy as heck just did. No, bad Birdie. He was just annoying. Sure. That's what she's going with, even though she knows she wouldn't be thinking about him so much if that's all he was.
Nick is incognito. I know it sounds all mysterious, and it kind of is. When his parents died in a suspicious accident, he gran-napped his grandmother and hid them where no one should recognize him as the heir to a fortune. First, before he can claim it, he needs to prove who was behind their deaths while keeping his beloved gran safe. And then he meets Birdie.
Birdie is not only hesitant due to her own upbringing, but her surrogate father and boss, Mr. Higgins, feels no one is good enough for her and men can't really be trusted, himself excluded, of course. Then he meets Nick and wonders if maybe he's the exception.
Nick is all in with Birdie, and has no problem dropping little hints about that fact, but he also worries that maybe she, too, could be in danger due to his situation...which she knows nothing about, nor who he really is and what that means for her, for them.
Will Nick's secrets blow up in his face? Will he win one battle only to lose his heart for good? Will Birdie understand why he did what he did? Were Nick's parents actually murdered as he believes? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people, both a bit guarded for their own reasons, take a risk on forever with one another. On a side note, Mr. Higgins and Gran were a hoot.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
I loved this book. You will be laughing the entire time you are reading it. Birdie and Nick were so good together. They weren’t looking for love but all it took was one moment in the checkout line to seal the deal for Nick, it took a little longer (not much) for Birdie. It is a story filled with laughs, heat and love. I highly recommend it.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
What do you do when a guy sweet talks you and steals your tampons... you call him a creep and fall in love lol
Birdie was having a normalish day until she loses her loyalty card and has this new stranger in town pay and sweet talk her outside the store. She isnt buying it and calls him a creep even if he's hot. Nick is head over heels in loooveee so he has a plan use the tampons he stole and alittle help from his sassy grandma to get his girl.
But Nick has second thoughts since he is kinda keeping a secret. So he takes a step back for a few days and regrets it he cant live without his Birdie so he tells her the truth and they both team up to take down who tried to Ruin Nick's & his grandma life.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore i think he was a virgin to.. unclear.

Loved this story. Well there hasn't been a story by Ella Goode that I haven't love. She writes the sweetest most caring Heros and heroines. Nick and Birdie were such a delight to read. I read an advanced copy of this book.
In Loyalty Card, I loved everything about the main characters (and those two minor ones) and hated everything about the “exciting” dramatic plot twist.
I loved that this book had OTT Insta love coupled with a strong heroine who was a flawless blend of naïveté and savvy. She was innocent without being a doormat, and he was determined and capable even as he was fallible and made mistakes. This books was an enjoyable novella with great steamy moments and a believable instant connection love story.
This was super cute from the meet-cute to Nick and Birdie's banter and secondary character interactions. That's why the aspects of the suspense plot point later on took me by surprise in a major way.
I loved Nick and Birdie together. Nick was all in from the first moment and was a much more laid back hero than I am used to from this author. He was a great partner for Birdie who had an edgy quirkiness to her.
It was a quick enjoyable read with equal amounts of sweet and steam.
Elle Goode isnt my normal author that I read. I probably have read about a handful of her books....and I've loved all the other ones. But this one just didn't do it for me. I didn't feel the connection between the main characters and everything felt forced. Just fell super flat for me. Oh well, maybe the next one of hers will do it for me.
This story was a great combination of intrigue and true love. Birdie and Nick are awesome, Grandma is not so bad herself. I love how strong Birdie is and how she melts for Nick. Had me laughing out loud too, don’t miss it!
Another book by Ella Goode that I couldn’t put down till I had it finished. It made me laugh, tear up and my heart warm with their sweetness couldn’t put it down!
Not sure if the hero was a virgin. I don’t remember it being explicitly stated that he was. Maybe I missed it. But he definitely wasn’t a manwhore, so props!
Safe. Possible virgin hero. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to her hero. No others, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue
Birdie misplaces her loyalty card at a supermarket when some guy offers to pay and help her with her groceries. She accuses him of being a stalker but a romance develops. He hides secrets about his life because he and his grandmother are in danger, but Birdie wonders if they’re the real criminals.
This was all right. Birdie was very combative towards the hero, and I’m not sure entirely why because no reason was given. She just immediately hates him. The hero accepts Birdie as his future wife as soon as he sees her and tries to get her to interact with him a lot. There’s not much more to it than that.
I wouldn’t keep this on my shelf or reread it. I would recommend it to people who like their stories short, sweet, and unremarkable for a few hours.
The first few chapters of this novella and the initial meeting between Nick and Birdie had me really intrigued but unfortunately I think things went downhill pretty quick. I'm not usually the biggest fan of love at first sight but I actually found Nick's insistence that Birdie was "the one" kind of endearing. I just think things took a weird turn when this became a romance thriller/suspense because the weak characterisation and time constraints couldn't really sustain such an OTT plot twist. The chemistry between Nick and Birdie suffered because of that and unfortunately this ended up being somewhat of a miss for me. I'm still hopeful that Ella Goode has a ton other awesome books I will like more though!
Loyalty Card is Quirky, hilarious sugary sweet, sizzling hot N absolutely heartfelt, I loved every delicious moment of it!
Nick N Birdie are beyond adorable their meet cute in the grocery store was funny, sassy, N charming, U become as hooked on the 2 of them as they are on each other!
I totally fell in love with Nick's Grandma she is a little firecracker I want a romance story between her N Mr. Higgins so bad they are the cutest!
Ella Goode has a way of blending romance, comedy, suspense N drama that will keep U coming back for more over N over, whether UR a long time fan or a first time reader! 💜💜💜
Ever since the majority of Alex Riley's books have left Amazon, Ella Goode has become my "go to" to short, sweet, instaloves. While Nick and Birdie aren't my favorite pair, Nick's gran and Birdie's boss brought that extra bit of banter to make the book more enjoyable. I like my heroes alpha and Nick may have lots of money but he is kind of average. Overall, it is a good lunchtime read and the author does give us an epilogue which always give these stories a perfect ending.
Nice story about finding love when you least expect it. The ninja scenes are laugh out loud funny! Love the banter between Birdie and Nick. A little push, pull. Completely safe.

This was a sweet hilarious read about Birdie and Nick. Loved their interaction and banter. I couldn't stop reading until I finished this wonderful naughty funny love story. The sexy times were super hot and so deliciously naughty. Loved this sweet story and I can't wait to read more by Ella Goode.
Yikes-- this started off as light campy fun, but took a super dark turn that I don't think the book could support. It just came off as pretty icky and poorly handled-- not one of the better ones from this author
