Three men, Owen, Richard, and Martin are in their fifties and are feeling the anxiety of lack of accomplishment with their lives. Sandy, beautiful and talented, has been locked in as a diner waitress with little hope of getting out. The stooges have been friends since grade school, their bonds are intense. Each is talented, but personality limitations hamper their achievements in life and family. The men embark on a houseboat trip where they confront their fears of inadequacy. Having returned, they decide on a project, as a joke, in order to punch their man cards. They proceed to edit and defile America's favorite movie, then market it to the nation. They feel a despicable act might be a good path to earn their fifteen minutes of fame. Things get out of hand, causing them to seek solutions and resolve their fears in unique ways. Three Larrys is Durbin's first book. His writing style is straight forward; there aren't many unneeded adjectives and adverbs. Plus, he doesn't spend much time setting scenes. Mostly, just stuff happening on each page. Contains male banter, male humor, and male interplay. Most women probably won't get it.
