Andrea K. Stein is a native Ohioan, the daughter of a trucker and an artist. She grew up a scribbler. The stories just spilled out--the pony escaped, the window magically shattered. Not her fault.

Twenty years as a journalist couldn't stifle the yarns. Yacht delivery up and down the Caribbean only increased the flow. Now those tales celebrate romance and adventure on the high seas.

I gave this book 4 stars!

These authors are new to me and this is the first book I have read from both. This is book is a new series. This is Lindsay and Alton story. The book started out slow to me but by the end it was full steam ahead.

Lindsay has a sailor mouth with smarts and sexy to go with it. Alton is an amazing chef, and sexy. With bad luck following them, and the chemistry off the charts makes this book truly a good read. Between Lindsay and Alton with the secondary characters this book just pulls you into the storyline. With things going wrong, its a race against time. It will keep you guessing to close to the end.

Off to read book 2!!!

The flirtations between our lead couple are sometimes too hot to handle! I had a ridiculous laughing smirk on my face throughout most of this read.

Good God this novel blasts off with a suspenseful start! We have a storm at sea, a sinking yacht, and a couple of sailors flung overboard. This is why we mere humans don’t belong out on the open ocean people! Phew, ok mini rant over. Lindsay and Alton are both at the ultimate low points in their careers. She has now lost two ships at sea, and he gave an entire room full of uppity socialites food poisoning. They see this next cruise as their one last chance to prove themselves. Problem is, they pretty much hate each other at the start. Lindsay is a strict captain who expects everyone to follow her every word, and Alton is the artistic chef who’s not used to living on a boat and working in a galley kitchen. He’s used to giving orders, not taking them. While initially at odds, they quickly come to realize they’ll need to rely on each other to make this trip a success. As well as an outlet to let off some…sexual tension.

If I had to summarize this book in one word it would be: fun! I was expecting the relationship between captain and chef to be the main focus of this book, but something I didn’t see coming was the plethora of supporting characters who really made this story such a comedic and fun read. With the introduction of every new character we get another crazy personality, and I just loved it. In particular I adored Lindsay’s uncle, Tommy, who starts off so rough and gruff, but also has such a sweet side to him. He provides the words of wisdom to both Lindsay and Alton regarding how they should approach a relationship with each other. He has read pretty much every issue of Cosmopolitan magazine in the Caribbean after all.

In addition to our captain, chef and first mate, we have a smarmy Russian, a music mogul and his vegan-organic-gluten free girlfriend who is enthralled with herbal medical remedies. There’s the spoiled wife of the yacht owner who always has a wine glass in her hand, not to mention Alton in her sights. Lastly, the trip simply wouldn’t be complete without also having the mistress of the yacht owner on board, as well as his business partner who is a James Bond uber spy wannabe. And that’s just everyone staying on the yacht! It doesn’t include some of the other delightful people we meet on various islands and other vessels. While this motley crew of characters is slightly over-the-top, it never got to the point of being just plain ridiculous. It was just the right blend for me of silliness, sexiness, and even some suspense thrown in as well. There’s eventually an inkling of intrigue and espionage, seeing as our yacht owner is the one noticeable key player missing on this crazy cruise. The ending does sort of cross over into outlandish territory, yet considering this blend of characters and build-up of suspense it also does feel like an inevitable climactic end.

As I alluded to earlier, Lindsay and Alton don’t have the best first impression of each other. He thinks she’s a hard-ass bitch, and she sees him as a goody-two shoes chef who’s clearly in love with himself. That being said, they are both clearly attracted to the other, but they’re adamant that they shouldn’t make a move. For one, there’s too much at stake with this entire trip. In order for their careers to rebound, there can’t be any distractions. In addition, it’s funny how long it takes before they realize the other isn’t gay. To quote one of Alton’s thoughts, “…he had the feeling she might be more interested in thick-lipped crullers than cream-filled éclairs.” Not gonna lie, I chuckled like an idiot with every culinary sexual innuendo that Alton could think of, and believe me there were many to enjoy. As their trip through the Caribbean progresses, their sexual chemistry becomes more and more difficult to ignore. With so many small and cramped places on this yacht to get down and dirty, it’s not long before they can’t say no anymore.

ARC received for an honest review and this arc was reviewed for My Timeout Book Blog by Melissa.

This book is a second/ third chance novel really. But not when it comes to the love story. For both Captain Lindsay Fisher and Celebrity Chef Alton Maura this is their last chance to prove themselves and to stay in the professions that they love. This voyage leads to so many issues and problems for both the captain and chief that at lot of the times you what to wonder if they will get to continue with their jobs in the end.

Lindsay is such a strong and independent heroine. She is organized, determined, strong willed and so many other things that make her an wondering captain. This is it for Lindsay, she must pull this trip off with no issues in order to continue her life at sea that she loves so much.

Alton is a bit arrogant and I was a little unsure about him till about half way in. Then his passion for cooking, his determination to make this job work no matter what and then his caring for Lindsay really turned it around for me.

There are a whole host of other colourful and interesting characters that pull you in and make you immerse yourself into the storyline. And while there is a nice love story in here the whole book is not centered around it. Things start to go wrong and it is a race to try and figure out who is causing the issues and what their plan is. It really keeps you guessing right down to the final chapters. I have now moved on to book two and I am excited to see where this one takes me.

Way too Deep by Andrea K. Stein and Sawyer Stone
** 4.5 stars **

Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books

Way too Deep is the first book in the Love Overboard series. When I first read the blurb for this book I was really intrigued. First there was the fact that the main character of the story was a heroine whom I loved and second was the setting for the story. I knew it was going to be completely different to anything that I had read before and I was right. I really enjoyed the story! The authors are new to me and I really enjoyed their writing style. I have to admit the second half of the story was better than the first – it just had a bit more action in it for me as well as some great scenes between Lindsay and Anton.
Lindsay was a great heroine! She was more than happy to put people in their place and she wasn’t going to let her ship go down without a fight! The part between her and Rene were so funny! I look forward to reading more about him in the next book!
I liked Anton! When he first came into the story I wasn’t sure – he was arrogant and a bit rude but I grew to love him!
I enjoyed this book and I am really looking forward to the second book in the series!

Linsdsay Fisher has loved being on the Ocean since she was little. She now is Captain of the yachts for the rich and famous. She has had some really bad luck and lost a few to the ocean. She lands a new job and she wants to redeem herself, she is tough and willing to do what it takes to make this one a success.

Alton Maura is a well known celebrity chef and is known for being promiscuous with his kitchen staff. When a lovers quarrel happens during an event it leaves his guests poisoned and a bad rep for his name. Alton is now out to reclaim his name and is hired to be the personal chef on the same yacht Lindsay will be Sailing. She doesn't like his attitude and he doesn't like how she is a hard ass.

This is there last chance to redeem themselves and they find that sparks start to fly along their journey. Will they be able to handle both?

In all this was an enjoyable read but I just didn't feel the connection to the characters that I would have liked. I was missing that need to keep flipping the pages.

Lindsay is a yacht captain with two ruined ships under her belt. She thinks her career is ruined, but when a former client charters her to captain the Bonnie Blue on a Caribbean excursion, she thinks this is her chance at redemption.

Alton, star chef of the show Kitchen Gods, has had a string of bad luck. Sabotaged by a former lover, his reputation is at its lowest. He is desperate for work, so when a B-list celebrity hires him for her yacht, he takes the job even though he hates boats.

The cruise is a disaster from the first day. Drama, intrigue, and sex abound on the boat, but Lindsay is determined to get the boat to its destination safely. Alton knows a shipboard romance is a bad idea, but intense attraction and close quarters mean that soon Lindsay and Alton are trying to keep their affair quiet from the other people on the boat. I was asked by the author for an honest review. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

In this first book of the series, we meet Lindsay, Devin, Carrothers, Tommy, Moj, Fiona, and Becca. A very motly and interesting group of people. We also meet Alton, a chef. He's hired by Becca for a job, what is it? Why does he think this is his only opportunity as a chef again? What happened with Eloide? Who is she or was she? What does she do to Alton and why? How does this dismantle his reputation and career? What happens on this adventure was nothing short of making me unable to put the book down to read. There is mystery, suspense, Intrigue, romance, and hot sex. This book was definitely worth the read!

Loved it. I've reviewed this book for United Indie Book Blog. These two authors are new to me. This is the first book of a new series. This is about Captain Lindsay Fisher and Celebrity Chef Alton Maura. I find that for me it started off alittle slower, but it did pick up by the end of the book. Lindsay is a smart, sexy woman. She has a mouth of a sailor. While Alton is sexy, goodlooking, and an amazing chef too. Both of them had some bad luck recently. They are hoping to overcome it. When they are around each other boy does the sparks fly. I highly recommend this book. Keep up the awesome work y'all. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This had a lot of potential and I was really excited to find a book that gave me the Below Deck vibe I wanted. But no, it did not do that.

I had the distinct pleasure of reading advanced copies of the first two Love Overboard books by Andrea K. Stein & Sawyer Stone. A serious score on my end. Both books are released this week and I'm over the moon about finally getting to tell you about them. Way Too Deep and Up Too Close were the two I read and I've already ordered book three.

I enjoyed them. I couldn't put the second one down. I had to know what happened, even if it meant skipping work things to find out. Let's just say that my bowling league has dubbed me the most socially inept teammate. I read between turns, and they must accept this about me.

These books were fun, light, and they made me want to travel port side (is that a boat term? LOL I'm learning). Cece's grandma, in book two, is still my favorite character. Loved the sparks in book one. I love how the books tie together without needing to be read together. Completely stand alone. Reminds me of Lori Foster's series in that way. The key to any good romance is chemistry between the characters. There is a lot of that to go around. All in all, I've enjoyed these. I really am looking forward to book three.
