In a world where the human mind can be given a synthetic body, the line between man and machine is blurred.
Despite the authority of the Sol Federation, major corporations hold most of the power. When the head of one such company, Chief Executive Julian Huxley, is killed, his body is left undiscovered for over three years.
Arbiter Tycho Barrett is sent to investigate the executive's death, but what he finds reveals more than he could have imagined.
Now, Tycho must search for an android who was once human, forcing him to question everything around him.
There are secrets here, written in blood and polymer, and they threaten to fundamentally change mankind's place in the universe.
After all, if so much of the body can be replaced by wires and circuitry, what does that say for the human soul?
Get ready to experience the second volume in the bestselling Sol Arbiter series. If you're a fan of Altered Carbon, Dredd, or Blade Runner, you'll love this engrossing cyberpunk epic.
“Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.”-Hagakure. “Pulling a Tycho” is not an option sometimes..Intriguing, exciting, with mountains of mystery, I was glued to the story from the beginning! Astounding discoveries lead to more sinuous and high level conspiracies, a “detectivesque” action Tycho has to undertake. Thoughtful, emotive scenes, with die-hard situations. An impressive world building and a great team of characters, with high spirited, diverse and captivating personalities. This clever premise sets the stage for some wonderful action filled adventures! I am totally snagged!
I wasn't sure.if.i.was.going to like this book after the first one in the series fell flat for me. The first couple of chapters didn't were ok, Tycho living his life, wondering where the story was headed, but then his adopted family from section 9 popped up. This is when the story began to improve or at least become more interesting. That said, im still not sure what to make of the augmen. They're a bit too overpowered. Still curious to see where the story goes in the next book.
Another homerun for the second book in the series.
I got everything I wished war in the second book. Great action great piecing great characters. I love the interaction between Tycho and the section 9 characters. Great technology plenty of gun play and a lot of humor. I am chomping at the bit for the next book in the series. I urge all people who read this review to give the series a try it is excellent.
Another great instalment in the Arbiter story sees Tycho shedding any innocence he had left after Venus, rejoining Section 9 as they investigate a confusing array of events. J.N. Chaney and Jia Shen tell an addictive tale that will have you glued to the page... more please!
Read asap well as soon as you finish what your presently reading. I enjoyed the story as it followed in nicely from book one. I was surprised how I found it hard sometimes to put it down it was a just one more line or one more paragraph it got me some looks but I should be used to that by now lol. Read and enjoy I certainly did
As all IN Chaney stories this series draws the reader into the world it takes place in! This storyline has been a struggle at times for me to read but not in a bad story way. More of a wait back-up for minute and reread something again way, which I enjoy

The authors have developed a great way to tell a captivating tale. While a bit light on the science fiction side, it is a well written and entertaining story.
Loved the ending of this book, wild yet subdued! Need continuation immediately! Can’t wait for 3rd installment, what a way to leave you on the edge of your seat!!
