But now someone’s dead set on silencing her. USA TODAY bestseller Dana Mentink enjoys writing in many different capacities. She currently writes for Harlequin's Love Inspired Suspense and Poisoned Pen Press.
Dana is the recipient of a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award, two ACFW Carol Awards as well as a Holt Medallion.
Dana Mentink is one of those authors who could write a phone book and I’d read it because it would be thoroughly entertaining. Fortunately, she writes romantic suspense so I don’t have to resort to phone books, but I totally would if I had to haha.
Secrets Resurfaced is the last book (I believe) in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series, and it was a great way to end, if we must. It starts off with several breath-holding moments and keeps that tension going throughout the story – just about the time we start to relax, we realize how foolhardy that was because there are still pages left! The stakes are life and death, and those stakes don’t ease up until nearly the very end.
Dory and Chad’s shared past adds a new kind of tension to the story, one swirling with old regrets and lingering love. No matter whether the past or the present is dominating their feelings in any given moment, the emotions run deep and the chemistry between them hasn’t lessened over the last five years of separation. Little Ivy is an adorable scene stealer who will quickly win your heart, and watching her completely capture Chad’s heart, too, will keep a besotted grin on your face.
Bottom Line: Whether or not you’ve read the previous books in this series, Secrets Resurfaced can be enjoyed on its own without the reader feeling lost. You’ll definitely want to go back and catch up though, because each book in this series is amazing. High-stakes action & suspense captivate your attention from start to finish, and the romance is redemptive, swoony, and sweet. Another fabulous read from Dana Mentink!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
Finally we get to Chad's story in this fourth installment of Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series! This series has been a good one and Chad has been a quiet, mysterious, yet loyal and steadfast presence at the Roughwater Ranch. Now this book tells us all about Chad's past, his fears, his anger, his hopes. There is fast-paced action with suspense, plenty of secrets, and multiple suspects, as well as sweet rekindling of first love despite resistance from both parties, great secondary characters, and forgiveness and grace learned and received.
Chad is a stoic cowboy, still burdened by the past and sense of injustice and fueled by anger. Dory is a private investigator who is persistent in her work and also loving and tender. Though their past relationship ended on a terrible note, they end up working together to untangle what really happened five years ago to put Chad's father in jail and walk into more secrets and danger than they had bargained for.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will definitely enjoy this book and the rest of the series. I received a copy of the book from the publisher/author via Celebrate Lit Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
What a fabulous addition to the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series! This has been a great series, and each book can also be read as a stand alone novel, too, so don’t worry if you haven’t read the other books. Jump right in and enjoy this one.
Dory and Chad were great characters. They both made mistakes in the past, and said and did things that hurt each other. The way they treated each other five years earlier had some huge consequences then and now. The emotions between these two felt so real and I enjoyed watching them overcome all the angry feelings they had been carrying around for years.
The suspense and danger in Secrets Resurfaced was excellent. I enjoyed trying to figure out exactly what had happened in the past and who was causing such trouble in the present. Excellent story!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Dana Mentik has written another fabulous fast paced novel that will have you holding your breath at every twist and turn! Some scenes will even make the hairs on the back of your neck. A great suspense story! I've been a fan of Mentik's for a long time and her works never disappoints me. Sometimes though I want to shake her characters into their common sense because there are times that I feel it flies right through the window. I think Dory's name is cute. Just like the author describes her in the story. But she's also stubborn and bull headed refusing help. Parents tend to get on my nerves a lot! Especially in this book. Chad is just like Dirt. Bull headed and stubborn to see what is right in front of him. But you know what!? I really grew to love them both by the time this book was finished. And a certain little girl stole my heart when I met her. I think her name suits her too. I feel that God orchestrates things for a reason especially if it's in His plans. So if it's a second chance what is there to lose? Will Dory and Chad give it a go despite the odds? Well, you'll just have to read this awesome story by Dana Mentik to find out! My thanks to Netgalley and the author for a complimentary copy. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun trip back to see what the Roughwater Ranch cowboys were up to. The mystery is solid and exciting. Dory was a great character and I enjoyed learning about her relationship with Chad and all the details of their backstory. There were a couple of elements in the story that seemed a little over the top and I didn't love which brought my rating down just a bit. But overall this was an enjoyable read!
While part of a series, this novel reads well on its own. I liked it even though I had some issues with it. I didn't like that the back story of the boat accident was not presented until after half way through the book. That accident was very essential to the tense relationships between Chad and Dory. I would have liked snippets of the back story interspersed in the plot earlier. I kept wondering about life jackets, for example, and that distracted me from enjoying the ongoing plot.
There is a good deal of suspense although some of it comes because Dory makes unwise decisions. Some of the suspense is hard to understand because it is really a red herring. That made readers look the wrong way but really didn't make sense.
This is an entertaining Christian romance with a good deal of suspense. Readers who aren't too picky about story structure will enjoy it. I just don't think it is Mentick's best.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Oh this book is amazing! I love the way Dana tells a story. Her twist and turns lead you places that didn’t think would happen. I normally can guess who is the bad guy in the books but this one had me turning page after page and finished it in a couple hours.
This was a light suspenseful romance. Dory Winslow inadvertently wronged her boyfriend's father five years before, and he ended up going to prison for causing the death of two people. Now a private eye working for her father, she sees one of those "dead" people alive and breathing on a police video, so she starts tracking him. The search lands her in the presence of her former boyfriend, the father of the child he doesn't know he has, who insists on working with her to find the man who helped frame his father. It was a pleasant, suspenseful read, but a few times I found the transition between actions unclear and needed to reread. It had a good twist at the end.
I really enjoyed writing this final installment in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series. I have a soft spot for a quiet cowboy with a heart of gold, don't you? :)
Why Lies Only Make Bad Things Worse A heart-rending story of faith, forgiveness, and renewed friendship, Secrets Resurfaced packs a suspenseful punch alongside an emotional one.
When Chad decides he’s done with the woman who ruined his father’s life, Dory goes into self-preservation mode. Over time, that turns into one lie into several–mostly of omission but still. It’s hard enough being a single mom without knowing that there’s a guy out there who would be an awesome father to his little girl.
But without forgiveness, lies compound and make bad things much, much worse, as we see in Dana Mentink’s latest book
Secrets Resurfaced has three things going for it.
A gripping story. Look, I won’t pretend that I didn’t figure out “who done what” almost from the opening of the book, but how and why weren’t nearly as obvious, and there was one element that caught me off guard about two-thirds of the way in. That’s pretty impressive. Not many books do that. In that story you have believable characters with strengths and weaknesses that make their actions make sense even when they don’t. Honestly, the weakest part of the whole story for me was Dory’s daughter. Interactions with her were a smidge convenient and on the nose.
Still, it’s fast-paced, intense, and fun without being over the top. One scene had my gut-clenching and I have to give Mentink major kudos for pulling off the cistern thing. Wow. Just wow.
A quick read. Seriously, I read it in just about two hours. And yet, while fast-paced, the story itself doesn’t feel rushed. This is a race to stop someone from doing something, and a race to get this couple back together before Dory takes her daughter away… for good?
Normally, that sort of rushed relationship doesn’t work. Who likes “insta-love,” you know? But this is a second-chance romance, so their history starts off a relationship that just needs a bit of shoring at the foundation to work out well. As previously mentioned, the relationship with Dory’s daughter is the only thing that felt rushed.
A realistic and meaningful faith element. There’s a reason Harlequin’s faith imprint is called “Love Inspired” instead of “Jesus infused,” okay? A lot of the Love Inspired books I’ve read could work without that faith element, and “faith” is mentioned without much reference to Christ at all. It’s often “inspirational” rather than Christian fiction.
Not this one. There’s a strong thread of forgiveness in this book but not a preachy one. If I recall correctly, I loved that element in the other Mentink book I read. Seriously, I’m tempted to read every Mentink Love Inspired book out there simply to ensure that Harlequin learns that Christian Fiction readers like a strong faith element rather than a token reference to prayer or whatever. (Note: I know other LI authors have this element, too. I just love to mention it when I find it because of the huge numbers of ones that don’t.)
So glad I requested a free review copy, and I'm thrilled that I enjoyed this one so much.
Recommended for readers who love a quick, suspenseful read and a reminder that God’s forgiveness is why we get a second chance with Him.
A chance sighting, brings the past to light, as Dory a private investigator works to help clear the name of her ex's father, while hiding a secret herself.
Dory finds herself working with her high school flame, as they work together to clear his father's name, while coming to terms with their past. This is a fast paced read, with a mystery that kept me wondering, the closer they get the more baffling it begins to look.
There was great tension between Dory and Chad from their shared history, and the question of where they go next. Ivy is an adorable child with a green thumb, I love how she names her plants!
Overall, this was an entertaining and solid read, with great characters, tension, mystery, and family. I loved the characters and the development of their less than perfect relationships that made the story more realistic. I also admired Dory for her faith, and how both she and Chad have changed in the years since high school. Very enjoyable read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Gah but I'm not a fan of the secret baby trope but when a fave author goes and writes one I can't resist. And you know what? Dana Mentink makes it work. I still don't like the decisions Dory made but I can understand them. There's real character growth as she comes to terms with their past and and how she handled things. Plus, five years ago was a gnarly mess complete with parental interference.
And, oh my goodness, what a heart-stopping reunion! Seconds in and Dory and Chad are sniping at each other while bullets fly and danger dogs their heels. Funny and traumatic rolled into one nail-biting scene! And the tension doesn't let up! It seems like they spend more time at the hospital than chasing down clues. lol Love the taut sense of urgency as the danger amps up. Phew, you might just need an oxygen tank on standby for this one!
I don't often listen to Love Inspired books but I couldn't resist trying Meghan Kelly's narration when audible recommended it as something I might like (how right they were!) a Great author/narrator match that enhanced the storytelling enjoyment.
'He had to find out the truth. Lives hung in the balance. Lives that were beyond precious.'
Dana Mentink takes us back to the Roughwater Ranch for this fourth book in the series, featuring Chad and Dory. Chad Jaggert is the father of Dory's child, but he doesn't know that. Now Dory, a private investigator is back in the small town of Driftwood looking into a case that put Chad's father in jail for five years. But someone doesn't want the truth to get out and soon Dory's life is in danger.
Dana Mentink again proves she is very talented at her suspenseful novels. In my opinion, this is the best in the series. I read it in less than a day. I loved every minute. Recommended
*My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. The opinions here are entirely my own.
Secrets Resurfaced ( Roughwater Ranch Cowboys #4 ) By: Dana Mentink Secrets Resurfaced in book four in the series Roughwater Ranch Cowboys. I have really enjoyed this series and was not disappointed in Secrets Resurfaced. This is a Love Inspired Suspense Inspirational Romance that will keep you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. Action, suspense, secrets, forgiveness, love, gratitude, and second chances all make this book a winner. This is Dory and Chad’s story. After five years these two are brought back together . Can they work together after they were torn apart years ago? What about the secret? Will it tear them apart? I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Secrets Resurfaced is a another great mystery suspenseful book by the author. It is part of series but can be read as a stand alone. Dory is trying to find someone that was reported dead years ago. Will she be able to find him ?
Chad and Dory has a past and there is a secret she is keeping from him. How will he react to her secret?
I enjoyed having the dogs in the book. Dogs always bring more to the story.
Secrets Resurfaced has a lot of excitement and you never know what is going to happen next.
I received an advanced copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. This book review is my own opinion.
This thrilling suspense novel is filled with danger and exciting situations. You’d think no one could survive all the experiences Dory and Chad endure. They’re not sure who or why someone wants them dead, but somehow the present predicaments are connected to a painful event in Chad’s father’s past. The powerful tale stands alone, but is the conclusion of the Roughwater Ranch series, set on the California coast. The author keeps you guessing as she weaves a compelling plot filled with plenty of drama. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Wow, what a conclusion to the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series this was. Chad Jaggert the youngest "brother" is brought face to face with his past in an unexpected way and secrets are revealed to him that is going to knock him for a loop.
Dory Winslow who was Chad's love, has come back to right a wrong. She never intended to run into Chad, she wanted to come into town quietly and leave just as quietly. Dory is a private investigator and Chad and her relationship dissolved due to a tragic accident that happened on Rocky's, Chad's father's boat. However, not everything is at it seems and Dory is chasing after a supposed dead man.
There were a lot of twists and turns and this book was great with the non stop action and danger. I gasped out loud a few times. I really liked how Dory and Chad needed to put away the past pain and survive the present and maybe, just maybe have a future. Dory also has a bombshell secret she's been keeping from Chad. Will these two get their happily ever after? It was a fun and exciting read to find out and my favorite of the series.
I was provided with a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
The excitement begins immediately in Secrets Resurfaced and it seldom lets up during the rest of this new book by Dana Mentink. Dory Winslow is a private investigator who has returned to Driftwater to uncover the truth about a crime that occurred five years ago and she carries with her a huge secret that she doesn't want revealed. Her five-year-old daughter is the granddaughter of the man now serving a prison sentence for that crime but he and his son haven't a clue that Ivy exists! What Chad Jaggert does know is that Dory is back, she is trying to prove his dad's innocence, and she is in extreme danger for doing so. The story that follows is filled with questions, adventure, and several twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end the identity of the true murderer. There is also a growing awareness between Dory and Chad that the love they once shared may still exist. Will Chad be able to keep her safe? Can he forgive her for keeping his little girl a secret? Are all of the lies finally revealed?
If you enjoy thrilling suspense and second-chance love stories, you will definitely like Secrets Resurfaced. It is the fourth book in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series and I believe that Mentink has saved the best for last!
I received a copy of this book from the author and Celebrate Lit with no requirement for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
Dana Mentink has penned another winner! Over the past year or so this author has become a favorite of mine, and Secrets Resurfaced did not disappoint! I have been looking forward to Chad's story since the beginning of the series, and wow such a great read! I loved Chad and Dory, and Ivy was absolutely adorable! It was so great to catch up with Mitch and Jane, Liam and Maggie, and Aunt Ginny and Uncle Gus, as well as loveable dog Jingles, along with the addition of an incredibly sweet puppy named Meatball the supporting cast was stellar as usual, though I would have really enjoyed it if Helen and Sergio had made an appearance. Secrets Resurfaced is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end! I love reunion romances and this one was so good, and the ending was totally sigh-worthy! A perfect ending to a fabulous series! I'm sad to see this series end but I can't wait to read Dana's next book! I highly recommend Secrets Resurfaced! (5 Stars!)
I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. I also purchased an audiobook copy. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!
So what the heck was this. Low expectations were met! Lol, not the love interest being CHAD DOOLEY JAGGERT. Here are the dangers that befell these two:
Nearly crushed under a bolder in a gorge Nearly drowned in a river falling from a bridge Nearly burning alive trapped in a fire Nearly got stoned to death in a metal pit Nearly got shot
but don't worry, God protected them throughout THESE ROUGHT THREE DAYS
It wasn’t until I started blogging and writing book reviews that I read any of the Love Inspired Suspense titles. Generally speaking, I tend to find these kinds of series repetitive and formulaic, and I favor the suspense much more than the romance. However, I have yet to read one that I haven’t loved! I appreciate that the series features a multitude of authors, which keeps the ideas and voices fresh and distinct, and that there are even series within the Love Inspired Suspense collection. The Roughwater Ranch Cowboys is one, and I enjoyed this fast-paced fourth book.
Dana Mentink draws readers into a story of past tragedy and present danger with “Secrets Resurfaced”, which explores the ongoing heartache of unresolved issues and unforgiveness. Although only five years have passed since the sinking of the boat that killed two people and sent Rocky Jaggert to prison, the gulf in the lives of his son Chad Jaggert and Chad’s now ex-girlfriend Dory Winslow seems endless. As Dory follows a lead about the accident, someone becomes intent on keeping the details buried, and Dory and Chad are forced to work together to find out the truth. Does the truth really set you free?
Secrets are the starting point for just about any mystery, and Mentink utilizes the motif well in this novel. The suspects cast doubt on each other in a way that is compelling and not contrived, and the romantic thread is credible, with enough drama to be absorbing but not overplayed. Dory’s father’s animosity toward the Jaggerts becomes apparent as the tale unfolds, and the entire backstory of the novel is revealed slowly, shedding light on what has made the characters act the way that they do. To me, this is just as important as the suspense element itself; I am always interested in the psychological aspect and in what motivates the characters, either for good or for ill. Several of the characters in “Secrets Resurfaced” come to realize that although their motivations may have been well-intentioned, their actions result in unnecessary pain and anguish. Only the unconditional love that the Lord gives us and models for us in Scripture will ultimately prevail, and it is this love and forgiveness that we should always extend to others. Time doesn’t always heal, but love does.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Celebrate Lit and was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
Secrets that rise to the surface are indeed deep. Some are delightful, some are painful, and others are like a hidden branch that will catch you, hold you, and cause you to drown. When all the secrets are out, who survives, and who drowns figuratively, if not bodily? I loved this book on many levels. Dana Mentink is a new-to-me author, but one I’ve been wanting to squeeze in for quite a while. Water catches my eye, so the cover caught my attention first. Then I discovered Dory Winslow. Although trained by her father to be a PI, she is very down-to-earth and relatable. So is Chad, her ex-boyfriend, who works for a ranch. I loved the way he “adopted” the family where he works, with the goal of starting up a rescue horse operation as therapy for veterans. Chad’s biological father had been driving a boat drunk 5 years ago, and two people were killed. Now one of those, Blaze, shows up alive and shooting. Dory and Chad teeter back and forth between trying to rekindle their former relationship and totally antagonizing each other, yet they need each other to solve this mystery. For a person trying to make amends, Dory sure seems to sink back into the hate and snark pretty quickly. I found Chad much easier to like, as Dory’s thought processes just didn’t seem too sound sometimes. Secondary characters can make or break a book for me, and Mentink threw in some great ones. I loved Aunt Ginny and her husband, and the way they loved on friends of Chad who needed help. I loved the camaraderie and brotherhood forged by Chad and his two adopted brothers. I was quite surprised by the wonderfully humble personality of one person, and who wouldn’t love Ivy and Meatball? Meatball steals the show! Steel Magnolias has nothing on Sarah, Dory’s mom, either!! I highly recommend this novel, and I will be on the lookout for others by Dana Mentink. I hope animals are included. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher through Celebrate Lit. This in no way affects my opinions, which are solely my own.
Danger abounds for Dory as she conducts her investigation. And because Chad insists on helping her, his life is also in peril.
Secrets Resurfaced is a fast-paced story that follows Dory and Chad's investigation. It seemed like they barely got out of one disaster before they were up to their eyeballs in another one!
I had already fallen for Chad in the previous Roughwater Ranch stories. I loved his very quiet ways and how comfortable he was with silence. And especially loved his strongly protective manner!
Dory thought she was strong and was, in many ways. Yet she wasn't unbreakable. I really liked her vulnerability and the way she was able to trust Chad even when she wasn't convinced that he cared for her.
Though Ivy, their daughter, was not in the story much, when she was she stole the scenes! She was simply precious. I loved the way that when she discovered Chad was her Daddy, she simply loved him and fully embraced her position as his daughter, trusting him completely.
And I would be remiss if I didn't mention another hero of the story, Meatball, the tripod dog. He fell more head-over-heels in love with Dory in the way that only a dog can, and as a result, he was able to ... Well, maybe I shouldn't give this away!
If you have read the other stories in the Roughwater Ranch series, you will be glad to know that the characters you have come to love from them are back with more than just a mention. In fact, it was a good thing that Liam was there! If you haven't read them, it is optional as each story stands alone. However, they are so enjoyable you will want to read them all.
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
This author continues to amaze me with her ability to write a story that has intricate twists which heighten the plot. Each turn of the page draws me deeper into the lives of the main characters. I loved at the beginning when the action first started. Dory is one brave and determined woman. I’m not sure I would go traipsing after someone surrounded by steep hills and rocks barely hanging on to the sides. The first few chapters lay out what is in store for readers. There is something not quite right with a tragedy that happened years before and Dory is about to find our how deep the betrayal was . I liked Chad and his desire to clear his father’s name. I found it ironic that Dory was trying to unravel a secret, when she had a secret of her own. I’m not sure I really liked Dory at times because she kept something very precious from someone. I loved the faith element in the story and how the characters soon realized that God was there protecting them. Holy cow there was a lot of action going on during the story. I can’t remember how many times Dory was injured. The part that I liked was how willing Chad was to put his life on the line in order to keep Dory safe. There is a part in the story where they talk and I think it was a pivotal point where their relationship was healed. From that moment I understand Dory better. We all carry secrets that maybe we shouldn’t. In the Bible it says, “The truth will set you free.” This story is definitely an example of how the truth can heal wounds, forgive and be free from the lies of the enemy. As I finished the book I kept thinking about the scripture, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” That very scripture is what sets off a chain of events that spread danger, lies, and greed. This is one of my favorite books the author has written. It captures your attention right away and delivers a look at what greed can do to a person. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Secrets Resurfaced. This is book four in the series Roughwater Ranch Cowboys. Dana is one of my favorite authors, so I was thrilled to get this book in the mail. It's well written, full of action, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Private Investigator Dory Winslow finds evidence saying that her ex-boyfriend's father is innocent of the boating accident that killed two of his clients. Dory was a witness that told of his drinking that day and had been instrumental in putting him in prison. Her ex-boyfriend had immediately dumped her unknowingly leaving her pregnant. Her father threw her out. Now she is determined to help free the innocent man. She follows her suspect to Deadwood and then into a canyon.
Chad Jaggert lives at Roughwater Ranch. He had started working there years ago when his father drank away all his money and there was no money for food. Gus and Ginny had basically adopted him. He considered the other men working there to be the brothers he never had. His newest horse was agitated and he decides to take him out for a ride. They are starting a Horse for Heroes program. He needs this horse ready. All of his family had met someone special and he's felling lonely tonight as he takes the horse out. He finds a car tucked away on the edge of the canyon. He soon finds the woman who had betrayed him so long ago. As he moves toward her a shooter appears and shots at her.
A terrifying journey to find the truth about the accident that happened years ago. Can they work together to find out what really happened that night. Can Chad protect her without falling for her again? Can she keep his child a secret? Will he forgive her if he finds out? God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. I know that fear and hate are running through this nation but if you give God your heart, He can move in your behalf.
Secrets Resurfaced wraps up Dana Mentink’s Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series with lots of action and a few surprises. With the requisite romance, personal conflict, a lovable dog or two, and cowboys, this Love Inspired Suspense has everything required for a satisfying evening escape.
When Dory Winslow returns to the area on an investigation, it is inevitable that she will meet up with her ex-boyfriend Chad. Their relationship did not end well and Chad has unresolved resentment against her related to a past tragedy. Despite his distrust of Dory, Chad cannot stop himself from running to her rescue and making himself her protector every time danger rears its head – and that seems to happen quite frequently.
The story takes several unexpected twists and turns along the way as what seems to be obvious changes a time or two. It was fun attempting to discover the guilty parties along with Chad and Dory as well as observe the renewal of their relationship as the conflicts were resolved. I always enjoy Dana Mentink’s books and love the way she includes animals as an important plot element. She manages to tell the story without revealing too many pertinent details until just the right point.
Although Secrets Resurfaced is the final book of a series, it easily stands on its own merits. That being said, readers will probably want to also read the previous books in the series to learn the stories of Chad’s older brothers. It is definitely worthwhile.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Celebrate Lit. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
