There are three things the locals tell newcomers to Kettle, Arizona, and two of them revolve around the same man.
One—Treat the burros that wander around town like royalty. You’re a tourist, they live here. They go where they want, when they want to, including sticking their faces in your car window when you’re stopped at a red light.
Two—Leave Bastian Michaels alone. Don’t look at him, don’t ask him a question, don’t make polite conversation. It doesn’t matter how smoking hot he is or how his jeans stretch just right over his backside. He’s not a nice man and he doesn’t want to talk. To anyone.
Three—Don’t trespass on Bastian Michaels’ land. If rule number two didn’t warn you away, the large stallion with the angry disposition should do the trick. The fence is there to keep others safe, not him. Don’t get too close. Don’t climb the fence, and for God’s sake don’t jump down to the other side.
Well, the only thing Jerica likes less than being on the run from a dangerous man, is being told what to do. Especially when Bastian is exactly the man she’s crossed several states to see. Angry? She’s dealt with that before. Dangerous? Put him on the list. Shifter? Well, no one else needed to know that but her, and she shouldn’t know that anyway. Hell, she’d gladly go back to the time she was blissfully unaware some men changed into animals—and vice versa.
She can’t go back—Jerica knows something she shouldn’t—but that’s only part of the problem. The shifter that’s after her is the most dangerous man she’s ever met, and she needs someone just as bad tempered and volatile to get her out of the mess she’s in. Plus, Bastian has a gift. A special gift. And if Jerica can sweet talk him just right, she might get him to use it for her.
Her life depends on it.
So, telling her to stay away from anyone is about as useful as handles on a snowball, and Jerica has never been the kind to look before she leaps. Not only will she seek out Bastian on purpose and try like hell to get him to see her side of things…
She’s already climbed the fence.

I love this series, and I love how the characters are written; their personalities are so fitting for each other, I especially like that they're quirky, imperfect and even the fears they have are so relatable. This was a great addition to the series.

Unexpectedly Amazing Shifter Romance

Shifter stories can be found all over...but it takes a special author to create a world that has a huge heart along with romance.

Desiree Lafawn is the author who finds just the right words to create a story that you feel with both your heart and your head.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Bastian and all of the characters found in her a Rogue Enforcers novella. Her writing style is clean and smooth. Not so much an easy read, as she provides a wealth of character and scene building, but a ‘want to BE in the story’ read.

You should really check out her other works of art. She is one of my go to authors!!!

Very enjoyable easy read - latest installment of the Rogue Enforcers....

I really enjoyed getting to know Bastian, and I cannot wait to meet Maverick again; I think I met him in an earlier book as a brief, supporting character. His gifts and his hybrid shifter story seems intense! Bastian is a great characters, and I loved his story. The horrors and pain he endured at the hands of a bad, but legitimate Enforcer curdled my blood. Jerica is an amazing heroine; she battles panic and anxiety like a BOSS and her inner monologues and thoughts are hysterical!

Bastian

Absolutely loved Bastian and his mate Jerica. This is a story about healing from your past being strong willed even when your scared of the unknown. Jerica was a breathe of fresh air in my opinion. She was funny, sweet, feisty and strong willed. Bastian needed someone to see him for who he really was. I loved Gas Station Richie, his character gave the story some intrigue. Bastian is a great addition to the Rogue Enforcers world. Happy Reading!!

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be my last. It is also the first horse shifter book I have read. Absolutely loved Bastian and his mate Jerica. I have to say she is one of my favourites in this series so far.

This is a great quick read. I do wish it was a little longer as I want more Bastian and Jerica but I am sure we will see them in a future Rogue Enforcers book.

Bastian is a great addition to the Rogue Enforcers world.

What exactly is his bro animal? It took 4ever 4 them 2 say and he still didn't act 2 sure about it. It was crazy how crazy he was acting like but she was safe. I really liked Bastian's animal. The end was really surprising about that old gas station guy being there and his surprise...

Omg I loved this book. Parts of it were so funny I burst out laughing and would startle my pets or family. You definitely made me want more of these characters. Hope to see these two again.

I liked both main characters. The H had a bad childhood, the h ran from a bad situation. I liked how they worked it out. I think this was low steam, one sexy scene but no sex.

Bastian

Bastian should have known his brother only called to test the waters. He was probably close by watching them when he called. I'm glad Old Ritchie saved the day.

This book had me at the first couple paragraphs. I loved the drama and love all wrapped up in one book. I couldn’t put this down spread it in one setting!

interesting

I’ve just started reading shifter stories. I never thought of a snake, horse and a cat as shifters, but I liked it. I look forward to reading the others in the series.
