This book should be read by anyone who has an autoimmune disease, not just MS. You are what you eat!

I have an excellent ms specialist who tested me for candida in every way possible (it was negative) as part of her narrowing down what was wrong with me in the first battery of tests I did with her. I eat healthy, very low sugar. I found this book to be constricting and discouraging. Like, hey, you have a neuro degenerative disorder, let's make it worse by essentially turning you into into Ms. orthorexiaon top of it. I'm not even sure ( although it could be a lapse in my memory, common these days) that this women even mentioned brain lesions or trying DMTs. My doctor stocks a pretty comprehensive lending library of ms books, even including ones on Chinese medicine and other alternative treatments. This one did not appear, and with good reason. Thumbs down, there are other ways to heal without making your life even worse with more restrictions of downing even more supplements ( many available through the authors website making them even more suspect in my eyes).

Don't me get me wrong, I am obviously angry about this disease and the slow deteriorion it presents in my every day life. But I think that I am making the right choices ( I'm giving this two stars because I noted ling before I even received a dx that cutting back on wheat, sugars and un fermented dairy does help). But kombucha? Seriously? I brew my own and that gives me a serious energy kick.

I know that everyone's progression on this disease is different. And it sounds like hers was just terrible before her dx, so I'm not denying that candida could've had a part. But to declare conclusively that that is the root cause of ms and no other is irresponsible, to say the least. No one know what causes this personal hell and to be scared into further restrictions just makes it worse. I am the first person to question all my doctors and in this case I believe in her and her 20 years of experience specializing in this disease and her openmjndedness (yes, she also gives me supplements as part of my regimen, then, importantly , she monitors it). In effect this book gave me no hope, just annoyance.

After bouts with many neurologists I stopped all the Multiple sclerosis medicines prescribed due to severe side effects, and decided to go on natural herbal approach. My primary care provider introduced me to Kykuyu Health Clinic and i immediately started on their Multiple Sclerosis herbal formula treatment, this herbal treatment has made a tremendous difference for me. My symptoms including shaking, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood swings, numbness, double vision and urinary retention all disappeared after the 4 months treatment! Their website is w w w. kykuyuhealthclinic. c o m. Its just amazing!

This book gave me a second chance in fighting the disease. The only drawback was that I failed to keep up.

At a minimum, it has given me the outlook that I can improve my health, which is very positive. It is a worthy read, whether or not you accept all the precepts. Good luck on your journey.
