His next flight becomes a fight for his life … and the life of the two pilots.

Colton is helping out on a training session in Greenland, currently in midair. The copilot is a woman he knew intimately and had planned to reconnect with, only life never seemed to give him that window. His flight turns into a nightmare as the engine blows, and he, along with the two pilots, are forced to abandon the bird and jump into the Arctic Ocean.

Kate Winnows might not have been overjoyed to see Colton as her only passenger, but she’s darn happy he’s here when all hell breaks loose. She’d never forgotten him. Had hoped to reconnect but, like him, her life was busy, finding each of them all over the planet. Now she needs him to help her save her reputation, her job and possibly her life … again. And, if she can make it happen, she wants a second chance to show him what he means to her.

Especially when they find out the crash was no accident but just the tip of the iceberg in a case involving blackmail, drugs and … murder.

I am a real fan of the SEAL of Honor series and this book didn't disappoint. The story begins with a Colton getting on plane with a pilot Kate, his one night stand. The next thing you know the plane's engine blows up and Colton and the pilots have to parachute into the arctic ocean. Colton believes that the plane was sabotaged and he is determined to find out who the target was and who was behind it. There were lots of twists and turns which prevented me from putting the book down once I started reading. This wasn't a good idea on work day, I really struggled to stay awake the next day at work. This book (more than some of the other books) in the series was definitely a stand-alone novel. I'm a fan of all of the Dale Mayer books, but this series is my favorite and I loved this book.

What started out as a training assignment takes a deadly turn when the plane that Colton is traveling on is sabotaged and he and the pilots have one option and that is to exit the plane while it is in the air. The situation is further complicated by the fact that the co-pilot is a woman he spent one steamy evening with before their busy careers took them in opposite directions.

Kate hasn’t forgotten Colton and the night they spent together but also realized that one night is all they would have. Now that fate has intersected their lives once again they find themselves working together to find out who was the target and why but will they be able to uncover the truth before their next attempt is successful?

Intrigue, romance and twists as Kate and Colton find out whether this is a second chance or if one night is all they are destined to have.

This is the 23rd book in the "Seals of Honour" series, each has its own hero and Dale Mayer manages to make them all different with their own personalities, each has a unique story but all with the same sense of justice, the same integrity, respect and bravery.
Colton Edgewood is flying to Thule air base in Greenland to do some training, Cole is the only passenger. When a devastating explosion occurs Colton straps on his parachute and helps the pilot and co pilot into theirs. The pilot manages to steer the plane over the sea before Colton pushes them both out of the plane then jumps himself, Colton knows that they have 10 minutes maximum before hypothermia kills them.
Kate Winnows, the co pilot, and Colton had a memorable one night stand a few years ago.George, the pilot is due to testify against two military pilots...... was this an attempt on Georges life ? Was it Kate's ex boyfriend seeking revenge, he had threatened to harm her or could Colton be the target .Someone has gone to great lengths but how much further were they prepared to go. Are there traitors on the military base and if so Who ? who can Colton trust, how widespread was the treachery and who was the target ?
This story is action packed, it has suspense and intrigue, it covers blackmail, drug running, murder and of course a blossoming romance.
I really enjoyed this book and although it is a standalone the end of the book gently leads you into Troy's story

SEAL Colton Edgewood gets a new work assignment - to help run a training course in Greenland and so gets a military flight to that. However, he notices the co-pilot he once had a night of passion with and never got around to reconnecting with so maybe now is the time to do that? However, things go south suddenly when the engine blows up and he and the two pilots are forced to abandon the plane and parachute into the Arctic Ocean. Suddenly he has to snap into work mode as he is the only one prepared for the situation and needs to keep them both alive. Kate Winnows is the co-pilot on the flight and has never forgotten Colton but life was busy and had never got around to it - can she take this opportunity to reconnect and get a second chance? It might have to wait as they now find themselves as the crash was no accident but just the tip of the iceberg in a case involving blackmail, drugs and even murder. Can they come out of it all alive, solve the case and have a second chance?

This was a story full of danger, drama and excitement as we went ton a ride of many twists and turns through the complex layers of the drug trade that they are accidentally embroiled in. It was definitely addictive as the story took us on a ride through everything that happened so that we were surprised at every turn. Well written and very enjoyable it was easy to feel and become addicted to the story. I loved the relationship between Kate and Colton and the way it built back up into something special.

Not only was Colton the sole passenger on a military cargo transport to Thule Airbase in Greenland, but also the co-pilot on the flight was Kate Winnows. He’d flown with her a few other times, but it was the very hot and heavy one-night stand from which they’d both walked away that filled his mind. That is, until it became clear that the plane was having some major difficulty. Then his SEAL training took over his brainwaves as they prepared to bail. The last thing he wanted to hear was that the pilot, whom he had not met before, had no experience in parachuting or how to stay alive in frigid sea water. The three of them hit the water, and both Kate and the pilot knew that without Colton they would not have had a chance.

Forced to delay his trip to Thule to teach his training session, Colton’s focus moves to the investigation into the sudden explosion that disabled an engine, causing the plane’s cargo to be lost and leaving its pilot’s life and limbs in jeopardy. Together Kate and Colton work several scenarios to piece together the events before, during, and after the crash, as well as hash out the feelings each of them still had after their night together and didn’t follow up.

I loved all the twists and turns in the plot as well as the back story. The SEALs of HONOR books always remind me that there’s a LOT of integrity, intelligence, and interest in doing good (not just doing well) in the men and women who serve our country.

This is another great addition to the series. All of these SEALs are tested to their limits. Along the way, they find their soul mate. Colton is tasked to go to Greenland for some training. On his way there, the engine on the plane explodes. He rescues the pilot and the co-pilot. The co-pilot, whom he discovers. is a woman that he had a one-night stand with. A woman he hadn't forgotten but with his job, unfortunately didn't call, Kate Winnows. Kate felt a strong attraction to the handsome SEAL four years ago but she wasn't ready to settle down. She loves flying and not many men can deal with the time that she is away.

Colton, Kate, along with a fellow SEAL Troy, have to figure out the who, what and why the plane was brought down. The intrigue and suspense is one that kept me glued to my e-reader. I couldn't read the story fast enough. It was so well written that it felt like I was right there in the middle of the action.

This story was written in my favorite dual POV. The sparks between the characters were right there from the beginning when they discovered they were on the same flight. Seeing into the thoughts of Colton while the plane was going down and after were some very insightful ones into his feelings for Kate.

There was a short sexy scene that should not offend anyone but I can only recommend this story to anyone over the age of 18. While this is a part of a series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.

More, Please!

Another exciting SEALs of Honor story that is stuffed full of adventure, danger and murder!

Two sexy Navy SEALs, one female Army pilot and an Army base out in the middle of now where on the island of Greenland. The wonderful heroine is Kate, the co-pilot of a military cargo plane and the lead pilot, George, are taking supplies to the island base along with U.S. Navy SEAL, Colton, who will be conducting some training on the island along with his partner, Troy.

Things get dicey real fast when the cargo plane blows up mid-air and all 3 have to ditch the plane and parachute to safety only to be in even more danger of the frigid Arctic waters, they land in. The danger doesn’t stop there, someone wants Kate and George dead.

The danger runs deep in this fast paced, thrilling story that grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you turning the pages to find out who is out to kill Kate and George and now possibly Colton and Troy. There are so many questions and very few answers getting to the bottom of the betrayal and deceit that are becoming a very large problem for this small Army base and the quiet island town. They can’t trust anyone but each other, finding themselves in close quarters brings out the hot and steamy we love in this author’s fabulous stories! A must read for sure!

Dale Mayer has created another exciting suspense novel for her “SEALs of Honor” series. Warning: Colton’s story starts with a bang and doesn’t let up until the end.

The excitement begins in the first chapter. SEAL Colton Edgewood is flying to Greenland when the military plane he is on explodes and bursts into flames, midair, over the Arctic Ocean. He, the pilot and the co-pilot must parachute into the freezing ocean.

As it turns out, when Colton enters the cockpit to help with the evacuation, he discovers that the co-pilot is Kate Winnow. Several years ago, he and Kate had had a one-night-stand and had not seen each other since them.

This story is an amazing intrigue with an intricate plot that takes the reader down many false roads before we discover “whodunit.” The characters of Kate and Colton still have lots of chemistry with each other. They try to ignore it since they are in constant danger, and they have no idea who is doing it or why.

Ms. Mayer complicates the plot even more with an incoming snow blizzard that is heading for their location!

This is a page-turner that you won’t want to miss!

Wow, thrilling start that had me on the edge of my seat, then it settled into one exciting event after another. Intrigue, drugs and murder are a big part in keeping me gripped throughout this book. Fabulous characters, even some baddies, you don't even suspect until its in your face, looks and behaviour can be deceptive. Twisted plot and a fast pace make it easy to keep turning the pages and whizzing through it. The touch and go with the hypothermia and the risk of losing characters made me cross my fingers. What I loved most about this book though was Colten and Kate reconnecting, and how much he looked out and after her, despite that when needed she was also there for him and Troy. I love the women in Dale's books almost as much as the men, they are feisty and independent very capable of standing up for themselves but also willing to be looked after if its by the right man. It doesn't matter how many books I read of hers or that I know the man will always get his woman in the end, every book is a surprise in content and the elements she weaves into each one, they never get samey or boring keeping me coming back for more every time. Wonderful story.

When Colton goes to Greenland to help out in training he ends up on a plane with Kate, a woman he had a steamy night years ago and one he never forgot. Kate is the co-pilot and during their flight, the plane ends up in trouble and Colton saves both Kate and the pilot when the plane catches fire. They end up getting rescued from the Ocean but the pilot is worse of than anyone of them...now Colton has to figure out why the plane was sabotaged and protect Kate if she was the target.
A good read with some steam, some suspense, some action and second chances between two people who never forgot the other. There were a couple of things that were left in the air with this read such as does Kate ever fly again, what happened with her ex, where do the two end up, and what all end with the pilot. This was all left in the air when in the other books, there’s usually a wrap up with the couple as to what happened with them. Otherwise the read was great with no OW drama, no misunderstandings, and no drama between the couple, which I LOVE with this author.

The plane crashing into arctic waters is just the beginning of this suspenseful book. Now hypothermia is only the first thing that they have to worry about. Colton believes that the plane was sabotaged and wants to know why. The commander of the Greenland is skeptical of that. The Navy copilot Kate also wants to find out what happened to the plane. Both Colton and Kate have never forgotten each other from their past one night stand. Now Colton wants to keep her safe. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. One of the things that I enjoy about this series is that each book is set in different locations and can be enjoyed as standalone. It was interesting to see how hypothermia affected a couple of the characters in the book and how a parachute can be deadly when landing in the ocean. I found both Colton and Kate very believable characters and I liked the renewing of their relationship. I love this book and look forward to the next one in the series.

Navy SEAL Colton Edgewood is off to assist with training at Thule Air Base in Greenland. He is the only passenger on a military cargo flight with pilot George and copilot Kate Winnows, a love interest from his past. An explosion onboard sends the trio into the deadly cold Arctic Ocean.

Fighting the effects of hypothermia is just a part of the new mission to survive and learn the truth. Was the explosion intentional and, if so, who or what was the target? Are they still in the bullseye? Add the isolated community around the base along with a severe storm and the tension intensifies.

Will Colton and Kate fall victims to another threat? Can they identify who is behind the danger and why? Will they have the opportunity to investigate their feelings toward each other?

Colton, SEALs of Honor $23, is a non-stop page turner and is one of my favorites in this outstanding series.

I can't believe this is book 23 in the Seals of Honor series and they just keep getting better and better. I love it. Colton is on a flight destined for Greenland where he will be helping out in a training session when he discovers the co-pilot is Kate, a woman he knows or rather has known and never forgotten. This dilemma becomes minor as they crash into the Arctic Ocean where hypothermia can take a life in a matter of minutes. Colton's training can help save Kate and the pilot but this is only the beginning of their troubles. The story goes on to one which includes deceit, murder, blackmail etc. Colton and Kate work together to stay safe, solve the mystery of the plane crash and work out the complications of romance in another winner by Dale Mayer!
The epilogue hints about an assignment for Troy in Alaska which sounds intriguing especially on an oil rig with suspected sabotage and a storm coming. Can't wait!

Colton by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Honor Series
Colton Edgewood is sent to Greenland to help with training. It should have been a simple trip. Go. Train. Finish. Head to Africa for the next training stint. Instead, he finds himself in the middle of a possible sabotage, murder, and being around the woman who never left his mind from one night four years ago.
Kate Winnows is a navy pilot. Four years ago, she wasn't ready to settle down. Now...she just needs to find the right guy and she's more than ready. He has to understand that with her job she travels. A lot. But after this trip to Greenland...everything changes.

Not everything about this trip is bad. Colton gets to watch over Kate...no hardship there. They just need to figure out who the target is, if indeed what's happened was intentional and not an accident. Another fast-paced, page-turning story in this series.

Colton is on his way to Greenland to do some training at the base. He is the only passenger with the two pilots. When suddenly there is an explosion and they are going to have to ditch the plane in the Artic Ocean. Co-pilot Kate did get an SOS out before Colton strapped on their parachutes and threw them from the plane. He also knew they would only have minutes before hypothermia set in and he made sure he landed between George and Kate to help cut off the chutes. Colton and Kate had a Passionate one night stand several years ago and he had never forgotten about her. A very good storyline that contains suspense, drug trafficking on a military base, murder and questions as to who is involved and willing to kill to cover up what they are doing. The more that is revealed, the closer Colton and Kate get. He is determined to keep her safe.

Colton is on his way to Greenland on a military aircraft for an assignment when the engine blows and he and the two pilots have to parachute out. He had just realized that the copilot is Kate, a woman he had an unforgettable one night stand with a few years ago. He keeps both Kate and the pilot above the icy water of the Arctic until they are rescued. He finds out that both pilots have had threats. Kate from a past boyfriend and George because he is going to testify against two fellow pilots that he saw transporting drugs. George is hospitalized but Colton and Kate go on the hunt to find out who is responsible for blowing up the engine of the plane and is now trying to kill them.

What a great twist on the romance. I love that it wasn't angst, miscommunication, etc. It was so real to life for many people. Colton, our SEAL, checks all the boxes and Kate is a pilot in the Air Force, yes strong, intelligent,(and a knockout, so Colton says😄). When the plane they are on crashes into the ocean we are off. This was non stop twists, turns, uncovering a drug smuggling on base. A network running through the military. I loved the secondary character, the General running the base😋, probably because I am an older reader. I do have to say there was so much going on that I had to step back after reading it, catch my breath. I am thrilled for the opportunity to receive this arc and I voluntarily share my thoughts and opinions.

I was holding my breath from the beginning of this book, right off the bat we've got the plane Colton's on going down. The pilot he doesn't know but he does know the co-pilot Kate. Love the way Colton just takes charge to be sure they all get out. Hypothermia is a real issue and the rescue boat even though it's close the timing is critical.

Once at the base where they were headed, Colton and Kate face a lot more than just recovering. There's an investigation to be done, and Colton is to do a training course with Troy but all their personal stuff went down with the plane.

Lots of suspense, intrigue, and a romance that blossoms once again.

I really can't wait for the next book in this series, the lead in has me more than a little curious.

There is definitely plenty of suspense in this book - from the time the plane crash lands to the end when we discover who all was involved in the drug smuggling.

While the pilots had training in what to do if they ever had to crash land, they were certainly lucky to have a SEAL on board. I loved Colton's take charge attitude when it became apparent that they were going to have to jump out of the plane into the frigid water and how he fought to keep them all alive.

Colton and Kate had a one night stand a few years back but never ran into each other again until now. Could it be that this is the right time for them to begin a relationship? Or will their only connection be the investigation of why the plane was brought down?

This is book 23 in the SEALs of Honor series and it features Colton and Kate. These two had one night together a few years ago but the timing wasn’t right for either of them for anything more. Now, she’s co-piloting a military plane that he’s catching a ride on to Greenland. Suddenly, they are going down in parachutes into the Arctic Ocean. Everywhere they go it seems trouble finds them or maybe someone is trying to kill them!

This is such a fantastic story line! The mystery, suspense and action are amazing! I enjoyed the romance because they were professionals first. When it was all over and everything calmed down, they let themselves think about each other and what could possibly be. As always, I’m looking forward to the next book in this fabulous series.

This is not the trip Colton thought he was going on but he is happy to be there to keep an eye on Kate a pilot he has a history with along with another pilot George after end up in the ocean due to something going very wrong with the plain they were in. There are so many twists and people to work through to try and find out who is after who, what is the reason behind it and how far spread is it. I just loved how I just didn't know who to trust and what I thought you knew changed all the time and there were some great twists that left you like "wtf!" so safe to say another great addition to this series!!

Not her best

As many do, I have favorite authors that I’ll read just because they wrote it. Dale Mayer is one of mine but this book fell short of her usual great stories. I found the characters were much more interested I eating and sleeping between investigating. There was no real interest between Kate and Colton. No heat...just a sense of regret that four years went by without contact.

I was also confused about whether the drugs were on the plane or not. That the perpetrators were forthcoming with information as soon as they were caught was also a bit much to swallow as well.

However, I will continue with this series and consider this the one off. I look forward to more great books by Ms Mayer.

Colton

Colton was to go to Greenland to provide training and the co-pilot ended up being the woman that had been on his mind since a wonderful night with Kate sometime ago. When they were about to land an engine blew up causing all 3 to parachute into the Arctic. Just barely hanging on until rescued, Colton struggled to keep all 3 alive. As if recovering from hyperthermia wasn't a big enough worry, things continued to happen confirming someone was trying to kill them - but why??
Will Colton and his backup Troy be able to figure out what was going on, who was involved and to keep Kate alive? Can Colton and Kate find what was lost between them and make it this time - if they can make it through everything with both alive?

Colton is flying to Greenland to help out with a training exercise when the plan he is traveling on goes down in the Arctic Ocean. He keeps the pilot and co-pilot afloat until rescued by the nearby base. Kate is the copilot who planned on reconnecting with Colton someday but not under these circumstances. Now she is recovering from hypothermia while helping him figure out why the plane went down and who had the most to gain from it. Another one of Mason's keepers, this book moves along at a fast clip that will have you turning pages so fast your fingers will burn. Very enjoyable!

I loved this book. From the very start I was so engrossed it was almost impossible to put the book down. The two main characters are great together and keep you turning the pages. The story line grabs hold from the start and does not let go of you until the very end. The many twists and turns in the story keep you guessing and have you rooting for the main characters. Love, love, love this series and recommend to anyone who loves a suspenseful book with a bit of romance and a twisting and turning story line!

Again Dale Mayer has knocked her seals of Honor book out the park with yet more intrigue, suspense and action. Colton is off to Greenland to help teach with a friend. Alone on the flight apart from cargo and the two pilots, all seems well until something happens. Ditched into the ocean, it’s a race against time to survive against the hypothermia that will set in. As we get through the story we are kept guessing at every corner to whom might want the plane down. The pilots, an enemy of Colton, the commander on base, someone from another base....... who knows. An awesome book that had me wanting more from the first chapter. I know this is a series I love to reread.

A great SEALs of Honor read that kept me on the edge of my seat and glued to the book from beginning to end. Colton, one of Mason's SEALs, was on his way to Greenland to help out with a training session when the plane's engine blew, forcing him and the two pilots to abandon and jump into the Arctic Ocean. He had previously known co-pilot Kate Winslow intimately and had planned to reconnect with her when the crash occurred that started a chain of blackmail, drugs and murder. If you enjoy thriller SEALs adventures, don't miss "Colton" by gifted author Dale Mayer. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Dale delivers one incredibly thrilling storyline with 100% on point realism, skillfully laying out this tangled plot with all the action, intrigue, full of edge of your seat action and mounting suspense, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration...I loved the first book in the “Seals of Honor” series but this book is even more fantastic than the last book. I read it in one sitting, couldn’t stop turning the pages. I have read everything this author writes and this is another spectacular read by Lisa B Kamps! Bring on the next book please. Happy reading everyone!!
