Book 1- The Arrangement Book 2 – The Stronghold Line
Book 1- The Arrangement – With the Christmas season almost upon them, renowned musician Ramiro and his girlfriend Carmen are busy at work planning his return into the music scene. Just when everything had been going according to plan, the ever-impulsive Ramiro makes a promise in the spirit of the season that would be difficult to fulfill under any circumstances, let alone his own complicated one. With Carmen’s help, Ramiro dreams of overcoming all obstacles and finally becoming the kind of musician he always wanted to be. However, when something unexpected happens, Carmen must keep a secret from Ramiro that has the potential to nip his dream at the bud. Will Carmen place her trust in Ramiro just as he has? Or will their plans hit a dead wall? Book2- The Stronghold What began as an arrangement of convenience turns into a passionate love for the ages, Sasha could hardly believe how drastically her life changed ever since she agreed to her friend Eric’s proposition. However, just as she has her own demons to battle, so does Eric. With a dark secret that he can’t bring himself to tell the world and a heavy burden of guilt resting on his shoulders, Eric is prepared to throw away their love if it means that Sasha will be safe. Can Eric forget Sasha and move on? Or will he find the courage to face his past and hold on to the precious love he has found?
The Arrangement ~ Sasha was sexually assaulted by a rich guy and Eric married her so that she would have power (from his last name) and money (since he’s rich) to fight her attacker. Once the trial is over they agreed to divorce. However matters of the heart come into play and their sexual chemistry is crazy. Will love be enough to overcome their past demons ?
I would’ve liked more back ground on Sasha, Eric and Tallulah. I was at a loss as the story doesn’t give enough information on them and what happened in the past. I thought I just didn’t remember some things so ended up going back and reading the whole thing over. Not my favorite book by Jennifer but will read more of hers.
The Stronghold ~ This being the second book was an improvement. It answered a lot of questions from the first book I had. I enjoyed this and learning about their past hurts. The past can make or break you but if you try and be honest with yourself and others you can usually persevere. This book is a prime example of that.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The premise for this story was a good one however the story was written in such a way that it ended up with more questions than answers and seemed to spend entirely too much time describing them having sex and not dealing with romance. This is what my son refers to as "lady porn". By the time I got to the end I was just grateful it was over and I could move on. And anyone who would name a baby girl Bart should turn in their parent badge. When going to his family home, Eric was addressed by the butler as "Lord Eric" but never before or since. What's up with that? Very disappointing!
I have mixed feelings about this book I coulgirl because of her being described as ugly and her hands being bigger than her husband's and her hair like straw and being hairy.... Yeah. I've read books where the girl is described as plain or even homely but never ugly. The other thingdn't even imagine the poor is I enjoy sexy scenes in my romance novels but there were just so many they got (dare I say it?) redundant. I actually liked the plot. Two of his kinks were mentioned. I have to admit that one of them made me gag.
