3.5 reverse age gap stars
Oh what a guilty pleasure! An obsessed H who’s been watching and waiting for the right time to strike while remaining celibate is all I ask for 💁🏻♀️.
He also proves age ain’t nothing but a number 😉 😮💨.
Whitney’s (27) a teacher and kind of has a crush on one of her students, quarterback senior Kyler (18 almost 19). Whitney keeps giving him detention because he’s kind of a bully. After class one day, consider, leaving with everybody else, he locks the door and Cortazar against the board.
And that’s when it all starts 😉.
She tries to stop him, to resist him, but… yeah… he’s not listening… plus, he knows she wants him just as much 😅.
What I liked: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
—the 🔥. Oh boiii does Kyler put older men to shame 😮💨. It should be illegal (I mean… it kind of almost is 🤣) to be THIS good 😅. And that mouth on him? LAWD… have mercy on Whitney cause she’s gonna need it 🥵. Could this have been more detailed? Sure. But… for a novella, I can’t complain 🤷🏻♀️
—how much of a bulldozer he is 😅. Whitney can try to stay away, but he’s not listening 💁🏻♀️. He goes after what he wants, and he does it in such an alpha way 🥵
—how jp he gets 👀. He can’t stand men being near her, so he needs to make sure she knows that she’s his 😮💨. MINEMINEMINE 🔥

What I didn’t like/wanted more of: possible spoilers
—continuity errors/mistakes. Sooo… she’s 27 when the book opens and he’s 18 almost 19. When the book ends, the epilogue begins on her 30th birthday… ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER!! 🤦🏻♀️. I ain’t a math teacher, but something ain’t mathing here. Only a few months elapsed from when the book begins, maybe 4/5 months (to when it ends)… so… um… how did she turn 30 when she’s only 29 🤣🤔🤔🤔. The epilogue should’ve been labeled as 2.5 years later.
-she’s 30, and Tyler’s 20 almost 21… ummm… 🤔🤔🤔🤨🤨🤨. Before, they were 8/9 years apart, but now they’re 9/10 years? 🤔🧐 HOOOOOWWW?!?!
Again. The math ain’t mathing 🤷🏻♀️
-in the first epilogue, we find out they’ve had 3 kids (IN 1.5 years!!!!!! Lol two were twins so fiiiine… but poor Whitney 🤣) and she’s pregnant with their fourth. And then, in the SECOND epilogue, 5 years later, she thinks about her 4 kids and then… they only have 3??? 🤦🏻♀️😅🧐
How did they lose a kid from the beginning of the second epilogue to the end🤣🤨🤨🤨 (they mention how all the kids are in school, all 3 of them 😬. It should be 4 🤦🏻♀️)
—the grammar mistakes 😬, Ironic since Whitney’s an English teacher 😅 (me too, but let’s not bring this up again 🤣)
—more angsty/inner dialogue in scenes.

Quarterback Leap turned out to be a funny, self-aware, forbidden love story that honestly leans more towards romance than erotica.
I loved the way the characters’ power dynamics fluctuated, their awareness of their relationship being problematic and careful consideration before getting together. They interrogate their motives for wanting each other. Despite intense mutual lust and Kyler’s aggressive, stalkerish behavior, they take the relationship slowly and get to know each other before becoming physical. The author painted out the main characters’ backstories to explain their decision to start their relationship when they do.

I’m a big fan of age gap romances, whether it’s the man or the woman that is the older one. This is a teacher student romance he’s almost 19 and she’s 27. While I had my doubts that a 19 year old was so certain about what he wanted for his future, nevertheless I decided to just go with it. Overall this was a delightful piece of fluff.

Helps that she’s not the one doing the chasing in this book cos that would’ve just been a put off for me. (Just watched that movie where the heroine gives in to the hero’s advances but he is totally messed up later in life, which he directly attributes to her giving in to him because he was too young to know better)

Relationship between older (female) teacher and her 3rd-year student? I thought the H was not alpha enough and couldn't take the world and life well. Boy, was I wrong. The H was very much alpha and responsible when reality and life hit. It was bittersweet and somewhat lovable. I thought this was gonna be bit ridiculous-instalove with who-care-bout-reality-it's-fiction-anyway, but it's nothing like that. The plot filled with life facts and reality check every turn of the way. And all the problems were solved beautifully. It was a good older heroine romance story.

I really liked this story. It was fast paced but well written. It’s lite and sweet with mild angst and naughtiness. The HEA was believable for a fantasy. Their age and the MMC in college leading a football players life, the fame and money would have caused problems for sure. Even if he had a burning desire to be a lawyer (which I believe he did), I don’t see how there wouldn’t have been issues. Still, the fact I believed it made me like it so much. There was no contrary thoughts or actions that the characters did. It was written faithfully to the character’s personality and dynamics.
The MMC was in love with the older FMC who was his teacher in ONE class in his final semester of high school. Even though he saw her a year before when he was already 18 he waited for her until now when he is almost finished with his education to approach the FMC. It’s a smart mature process. If it wasn’t because he over heard her planning to start dating he would have waited until after graduation as he originally planned. Anyway, the MMC pursues her and they are together by chapter five. The rest is the drama is of him convincing her to believe in a forever for them and them dealing with the fallout of getting caught. They were separated for a blip of a second in the story and then it’s HEA and two epilogues. I wished their had been one more to show them at 15+ years out but I was still happy for them with what I got.
I will definitely try some more books by this author. I liked the flavor/tone of her style of writing and I think I would enjoy other books by her. There are grammatical errors but they weren’t that bad, just noticeable. It’s something I could live with though. Good luck.

I loved this, storyline was not lacking even though it was a short read, the writing was very engaging, the Hero was OTT JP and the heroine was pretty doormat which I love. Definitely looking at other works by this author.

Well at first I wasn't sure about the OW/YM part of this story... but boy was I wrong for that. That story was sweet, possessive and just hot😍😍🔥🔥 Kyler was all man despite his age. A little drama and whole lot of judgemental people. HEA and insta love. Totally safe. This book has brought this type of story a bit more into my focus.👍👍

Whitney has a crushing on one of the students but ignored it until he cornered her after class one day. She's resists because of her position of power over him and she's also 9 years older. This was my first read by this author and it wasn't bad. I wish more authors did reverse age-gaps. For a novella it was decent but I wish I got more depth from the characters. Things were so fast paced that I didn't get why Kyler was in love with her and why she was his 'one'. I did enjoy his possessive, jealous tendencies and the way he pursued Whit. It was nice seeing the younger person be the bulldozer. But I had issues with Kyler's dialogue at times. For an example, I'm sorry but no modern day 18 yr old guy would think 'her sex'. Other than that, I'm still willing to try out more books by this author.

I received an arc for an honest review. This book brings us Whitney and Kyler. Whitney is Kyler's high school teacher - a forbidden taboo romance. Yes, this book is short - but it has so much packed into it. I loved how Kyler was so sure of his feelings for Whitney. Whitney fought to stay away, but Kyler was one determined Quarterback. I loved the fact that his parents had the same kind of relationship. This was a great read and I highly recommend it.

I absolutely adore the teacher/student trope, especially when it is a female teacher and a male student. Kyler is all alpha male with a gooey center when it comes to the woman he knows is his. Whitney is lonely, reserved from a rough childhood growing up in foster care. Kyler is really the type of guy that I love as a book boyfriend. I couldn't help but root for Whitney, praying she would take a chance on him. I can't wait to read more by this awesome author!

Hot, steamy with a side of forbidden.
This was a really good book with excellent character development. The interaction and feelings between Kyler and Whitney were genuine and loving. The storyline touches on a relatively taboo topic of teacher and student relationship but the author manages to navigate it in a way that it seemed destined to be.

Panting for more
So I don’t typically enjoy an older woman/ younger man book. But this book was FIRE 🔥 , I Loved it so much!! Kyler is such an Alpha Male he totally swept me off my feet and had me panting for more! Whitney is the perfect woman for him and I loved their love story!

Nice change from older man younger woman.
I liked this story. You could see them getting caught a mile away. I admire Whitney for trying to do the right thing once they did get caught. I enjoyed the older woman younger man story for a change. At least this story had a much happier ending than Romeo and Juliet did.

Not sure how I feel about this
This is not a genre I enjoy-teacher/student and although Kyler was over 18 he was in High School having an affair with his teacher. I found it all kinds of wrong even though I liked his character. The subject matter made me uncomfortable. I don’t mind younger man/older woman but not like this.
