Some myths hold a seed of truth. She must uncover the truth behind the myth of Hades, god of the underworld... before it destroys her.
Using wit and gumption—along with a hearty dose of her newfound psychic gifts—Cora Blackthorn has narrowly escaped the clutches of the Custodes Veritatis. With the help of her closest friend and strongest ally, Raiden Cross, as well as her mental hitchhiker, Persephone, Cora must outrun the sinister secret order long enough to uncover the mysteries left behind by Hades, the last of the Olympians. But when an ancient treasure hunt turns into a wild goose chase, Cora fears the worst—the quest is hopeless.
Until an unexpected discovery sets Cora on a new path. A hidden civilization thrives deep underground beneath the Amazon rainforest, and they have been waiting for Persephone's return. With their help, Cora discovers that the greatest danger to her life isn't the Order; it is Persephone, herself…
Lindsey is a bestselling Science Fiction and Fantasy author who lives her life with one foot in a book—so long as that book transports her to a magical world or bends the rules of science. Her novels, from Science Fiction Adventure to Time Travel Romance, always offer a hearty dose of unreality, along with plenty of history, mystery, adventure, and romance.
When she's not working on her next novel, Lindsey spends her time hanging out with her two little boys, working in her garden, or playing board games with her husband. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family and their small pack of cats and dogs.

Fate of the Fallen is the second installment in author Lindsey Fairleigh's Atlantic Legacy series. Now that Cora Blackthorn knows she's sharing a consciousness with Peri (Persephone) a reincarnated Amazon warrior, she is determined to find Hades before her brain fractures. Her first stop in this story is the Amazon Rainforest along with Raiden Cross. Armed with Peri's Doru, her hoplon suit, and regulator, as well as a Hades memory sphere, Cora is desperate to find Hades.
A great continuation of Cora's story. Now that she knows she is sharing a soul with Peri (Persephone) a reincarnated Amazon warrior within her mind, she is determined to find Hades. Hades has been working over many centuries to resurrect the Amazons and meet up with his true love once again. Of course it's not an easy journey to find Hades when there is another group, the Custodes Veritatis, determined to get there first at any and all costs.
There's lots of action and excitement and a little romance that I'm excited to see progress. Secrets, adventure, intrigue and myths... so much happens in this story that ends with quite a bit wrapped but obviously lots more to come for Cora and her group.
I've long been a fan of the stories about Atlantis, Olympus, and Egyptians. I'm also a huge fan of EVERYTHING this oh so talented author has shared with the world. This series is no different! Filled with all kinds of excitement. At the heart is Cora who now shares a soul with Peri who's basically an Amazon warrior reincarnated in her mind. Through her wisdom, memories and guidance Cora and her friends try to escape the clutches of the bad guys; A cult working under the Pope to grab any and all information, technology, through any means necessary...anything to make them reign supreme. Cora is desperate to make their way to find Hades. Unlike the myths, he is also an Olympian (we think of them as Atlanteans) and all knowing who happens to be in a cryo slumber. All kinds of adventure happens. If you're a fan of Laura Croft Tomb Raider or Stargate, this is DEFINITELY the book for you! Be sure to read book one first for all the backstory. I love that a fearless, big hearted, intelligent woman is at the heart of this story. Women continually find their way and save the day without relying on Prince charming. In this beautiful tale the men work as partners to Cora and not as the leaders. There's tons of secrets, adventure, intrigue and myths.... I cannot wait to see what's next for Cora/Peri and her band of merry loved ones. I have a feeling we've not seen the half of what she's capable of. To those that threaten those important to her had better watch out!
Fate of the Fallen is the second book in this science fiction adventure series. Fate of the Fallen starts shortly after the end of book 1 as Raiden and Cora are in the Amazon jungle searching for the next clue. They're trying to find the alien Hades and he left clues as to how they can find him. There is danger, adventure and action along the way and this was another exciting read.
This book kept my attention from start to finish and it was a great read. There are some interesting reveals, more we learn about the aliens and Hades and there are plenty of struggles and dangers Cora and Raiden must face. There are unexpected new allies and encounters with existing ones. The danger of the Order is a bit farther away for most of this book and I actually liked that with the focus being more on discovering the truth and figuring out where the omega site was.
I liked reading about Cora and learning more about her. It's interesting to see how she deals with having Peri in her head as well and how that works out as well as the struggles. I thought it was great to see how she handled everything and also to see her doubts and fears as she struggles with things. It made her feel both capable and realistically human, I liked that. We see more of her psychic powers as well. There's a big change that happens late in this book and I am curious to see how that will play out in future books.
To summarize: I enjoyed this second book in this science fiction adventure series. There's plenty of adventure, danger and action, as well as some interesting psychic powers. There are clues they have to follow to figure out what Hades wants and find the Omega site and it was exciting following their journey. I like Cora and how she is capable, but also feels realistic and human with her fears and doubts. It was interesting to read about how she handled having Peri in her head and also the struggles. There is a big change toward the end and I am curious to see how that plays out in future books.
This second book finds Cora and Raiden in the Amazon rain forest trying to track down a site mentioned in the labyrinth in Rome. This book chronicles their adventures there and when Cora saves a girl she takes her with them which proves very fortuitous to her later on. Cora/Peri starts to experience severe headaches which she understands will kill her if she can’t find Hades. They make it to Ireland and later to Egypt where this particular journey ends.
This is a very exciting book full of adventure, suspense, intrigue and a read that will capture your attention and imagination and definitely will hold your interest throughout.
I heartily recommend you get this series and sign up for the authors newsletter so you can read the prequel book as well that tells the story of Peri and Hades and what happened to them so long ago.
It’s fun to read about places around the world and try and picture yourself there and with this series you can. The book is well written and hard to put down!
Reading provides a great escape from the troubles we’re facing in our country as well as the troubles we hear about in the world at present. It’s so much better to enter a world you can picture in your mind’s eye as you read it than sitting in front of the tv in my opinion and this action adventure series will capture your interest right away if you like these types of books.
I’m sure if you start this series you’ll be hooked and will want to read each book as it comes out! I know I will!
Fate of the Fallen is an action packed book combining the life of Cora, a modern day gamer, and the mythological Persephone (Peri). Fate of the Fallen picks up where Legend of the Lost ended, with Cora and Raiden in the Amazon after trying to escape the clutches of the Custodes Veritatis in the Vatican. If you thought book one was action packed, you are in for a treat! Book two has even more action, a little romance, and some great mythology. Can Cora and Raiden solve the mystery of the artifacts they have acquired through their journey? Can Cora and Peri live as one? Will They find the Omega site and Hades himself? Will Cora and Raiden’s harrowing journey be all for nothing? Be prepared to find the answers to these questions as the you join them on this magnificent journey. I did not want to put this book down!
I just love this series, I thought it was a little far fetched at first, but after reading the echo in time series which I loved by Lindsey I just really wanted to give it a go.
Second book in and I am just loving the way the worlds are explained in these books, the world building is great, it makes sense as far as sci-fi fantasy goes, the characters are interesting and I just couldn't put it down. The mix of adventure is really cool and although the plot/ideas seem complicated, the way it is written just feels really easily explained and as a reader I'm just like, oh yeah that makes sense... which I normally struggle with, with these types of books.
I loved the inclusions of mythology and sci-fi, I think it works really well together and I can't wait to continue reading more of this series.
An enjoyable and different spin on Atlantis and Hades
At the end of the last book Cora and Raiden have escaped the Custodes Veritatis and need to head to the Amazon rainforest. This book the pair are in the rainforest trying to find the mystery Hades has hidden. In the rainforest she finds something she wasn't expecting and the Custodes Veritatis are hot in their trail. But with Persephone in her mind she has help but the headache from sharing her mind is getting worse. Really enjoyed third Book from beginning to end. It's also like a history lesson and I find I'm googling some of the historic things mentioned just to find out more about them. This is the Olympic God's as you've never seen them before.
This series keeps getting better with each book. Peri's journey, along with Raiden, newfound allies and new developments was beyond great for me. I loved this part of the story, all of the twists, turns, and newfound friends make this a must read. This book stops in a great place, but I am eager for more. No spoilers, just read it. I received an ARC from the author and I am leaving this Totally Honest review because I choose to and I Loved this book. Happy Reading!
Holy Captain Exposition, Batman! This book felt like the author’s chance to throw in all the mythos/backstory they had built up at the expense of anything actually happening. If you want to tell the backstory, have it unravel as the characters explore places, not have the main character read another’s journal entries or be sat down and told a city’s history by yet another character. Show, don’t tell!

Addicting. Fast paced, with lots of twists and turns.
I'm not sure who to root for. Raiden, who has loved Cora all his life but couldn't touch her, or Hades, who has spent millennia trying not only to save his people from extinction, but to reunite with the woman he loves. A conundrum since both women share a body.
Well constructed story line that is quite believable. Cora / Period and Raiden continue their quest for answers to the truth about Atlanteans. This globe frosting story will keep you enthralled, keeping you wondering what's going to happen next. And will they accomplish their quest in time.
Book two did not disappoint. It was a good continuation of the story. But like the first it Caan not stand alone. I am glad I started with one. If I had started with two it wouldn't have made much sense. I only hope books 3 and 4 will tie up lose ends.
Amazing second book, with an ending that leaves you lusting for book 3! I was looking forward to seeing how Cora continues on her quest for answers and I was not disappointed. There is a lot happening in this book and the ending is absolutely phenomenal, making you craving for book 3 and pray to all things holy that Lindsey has so much inspiration that she finishes the book earlier than planned!
This series continues to be fun, similar to how watching Stargate SG-1 was fun, even when the series continued long after it had jumped the shark. (Since the author references the show multiple times in the first two books, I suspect the series was inspired by the show or possibility even started as fanfiction.) I'm oddly looking forward to the love triangle shenanigans.
I picked this up randomly and had to stop mid read and go get the first book. I honestly don't know if I would have found my way to the book without the randomness...but I'm glad I did.
I love mythology and the way this book present the mythology that I'm so familiar with was FANTASTIC. And I like books about aliens!
So much going on, action, adventure, ancient mysteries revealed, sci-fi, friendship, love, and globe trotting. Join Cora, Peri and company on the next phase of the adventure.
This series is fantastic. Such a captivating and heartbreaking tale, a totally new take on this genre which is refreshing. Amazing multilayered characters throughout. This is a book you can't put down!
I stumbled across Lindsey Fairleigh and fell in love with her writing. If your looking for an engaging book that will keep you turning the pages then this is for you! I promise you’ll fall in love like I have
A good follow up to the first book and the development of Cora's history is interesting and involving. I said in my review of the first book I don't read many female authors but this story has held my attention. Well written and definitely an author to follow.
This is really the greatest adventure I have ever been on. This book has it all, suspense, drama, love stories and adventure with a great cast. I recommend reading this to all.
A little long winded , but still great non the less. I love all the back story through the ages that came to life. Now we’re getting to see more about the people and Cora and peri.
