Filled with beautiful photography and line drawings, this is a book for those who want to discover more about the natural world and want to bring a little piece of the outdoors into their own home.
This book brought me a lot of calm and peace. Living in an urban environment makes it slightly more challenging to connect with nature, but not at all impossible. I am fortunate to live near several parks, and this book encouraged me to pay attention to and be mindful of my surroundings; from the grass to the clouds to the trees to the birds, if you choose to notice it, nature is everywhere and we are as much a part of it as every other living thing.
Enjoyed this book more than i thought I would. Whilst it was an entry level book for enjoying nature, I still learnt things and found it interesting. It was well presented and read well on the audiobook version.
Faith Douglas has struck the perfect balance between telling her own very emotional story and providing key knowledge, that really, we should all be clued up on. Described as “a restorative guide to the natural world”, this is a book that everyone should have on their bookshelf. Actually no I take that back, everyone should have it on their coffee table, out on display and easily accessible.
Spilt into 5 easy to read sections, this book educates it's reader on all things wild. Behind the cover are the most stunning photographs and several ideas for things to do, make and see to help encourage you to embrace nature.
