Fantastic. My first Natalie Banks read and definitely won’t be my last!

When Claire wakes up from the memory of her husbands death and the months leading up to the train wreck where he was killed, only to find him in the kitchen as usual she is confused. And when the events that led up to his death in her dream begin to happen in real life, Claire begins to break down. Part love story and part suspense, this one will have you turning pages just as quickly as you can, and perhaps even evaluating your own life and the way you cherish those around you.

“Because in the end, all we really have in this life to hold onto…are the moments between.”

I would love to thank Natalie Banks for her generosity in allowing me to read her book early (arrives December 6)!

What would you do if you had one of those dreams that seems a little too real? One of those premonition types that makes your heart beat fast and race around trying to make sure it’s not indeed real?

This read was a heart racing, gut wrenching, heart awakening GEM! The meaning, the thoughts and fears were oh so real and it made me realize the realness of my life. To treasure our lives, to take the good with the bad and to simply be grateful for those “moments in between”.

Natalie, you truly hit it out of the ballpark today, this was a fantastic read that I just couldn’t put down. I love it and I know others will too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Again, this will release on December 6 so stay tuned and do yourself a favor and grab it when it does! You’ll LOVE it!!

Natalie's done it again! She completely captures you in the story and you feel for the characters. She's got a gift for words and describing emotions. She doesn't disappoint in this novel. What a scary situation to find yourself in. Natalie did such a good job at piecing all the parts together and keeping you guessing until the end. You'll want to set time aside to read this one, because once you start, you won't be able to stop.

My first book by Natalie Banks and definitely will not be the last. What an interesting and lovely journey this book was. I was utterly hooked. It was intriguing and addictive to read.
The story was fast-paced, entertaining, and captivating, and kept me on edge the whole time I was reading, a page turning. And what a beautiful epilogue...

--My thoughts. Wow from the VERY beginning this book was amazing. It isn't a chipper book, as her husband is going to pass away. It starts off with her waking up and thinking of her life afterward, only to discover it hasn't happened yet. At first she is freaked out, thinking she is just dreaming, but things seem to be okay, so settles back into daily life. But then as if she can predict the future, things that had happened before he passed come to be. They are barreling towards June 3rd, will Claire be able to alter the events? What if she did and something worse happened.

Barrel towards June 3rd with Claire. You will enjoy it I promise. My heart was breaking so badly for her, and you can totally understand why she would get so frustrated but you can't help it. You want to scream at her, enjoy each day anyway because we don't know how long we really have, but in this case she did..

You will enjoy every single moment because this is a tale that could be all too true for any of us. Happy reading!

I'm completely speechless right now trying to gather the words to explain what this novel did to me. I have all the feels right now. Shock. Happiness. Sadness. Gratitude. Etc.
Claire wakes up one morning three months after her husband has died in a terrible train accident. She is alone in the house because her boys are at a sleepover. As she lingers in bed she remembers her grief and wonders how she'll keep living and get through it all. Then the strangest thing happens, her boys come in and start jumping on the bed and she hears someone in her bathroom. All of a sudden Ben, her late husband comes out of the bathroom and everything is normal to the boys and Ben but she is shell shocked. How can they be here? What is going on?
Natalie tells a heartwarming story of a family, the trials of their everyday lives and the events leading up to the fateful day that changed Claire and Ben forever. I would highly recommend this novel to those that love domestic family drama, suspense and romance. This book has it all.

To say this is a great book is an understatement. It gripped me from chapter one and I had to keep reading because I HAD to know what was happening. Natalie Banks is an incredibly talented author. It's difficult to create characters who appear real and dynamic and believable, but Natalie's writing style makes characterization look easy. The characters feel like they could be people I know in real life. They are so well done, and her grasp on details, even the everyday ones that most people overlook, are vivid and present, creating a complete image in my mind. I felt as though I were watching a movie.

The storyline is compelling, and I didn't know what was going to happen from page to page. What is a dream? Was it real? It's such an interesting plot. I STILL didn't know what would happen until the very end. Even after I finished the novel I kept thinking about it, which is a sign of a great story!

I love all the details, from the kids to the scenery, to how she describes people and situations and emotions. Even the subplots with the family members and how they weave in and out (and all their little family surprises) create such a richly layered story overall. If you're looking for a fantastically well-written story, grab your copy today!

What if you woke up one day and the husband you thought had died in a terrible accident months ago was alive again but not just that it’s 3 months before the day he died? Can you stop fate from happening? ⁣

Kudos to @officialnataliebanks for a unique concept that she knocked out of the park. This book kept me on the edge of my seat counting down the days till Claire’s Husband Ben would die. Reading her pain and mental struggle trying to grasp what seems to be her new reality was done amazingly. Watching Claire heal from past wounds and realize that life is about living in the now was very moving and had me in tears by the end. ⁣

I can’t wait to read more from this author! ⁣

Thank you @officialnataliebanks for this ARC in exchange for my honest review ⁣

This was my first Natalie Banks novel. She did a fabulous job pulling me in and I found myself feeling the same emotions as the main character! My personal experiences brought the characters alive and I found myself needing to keep reading so I would know what happened! The main character has a dream that she has lost her husband, but wakes up to him being alive! She struggles to mesh reality with the realness of her dream.

I don't read much these days, but I found myself going back to this book until the very end. Very nicely done! At times, I might have found a few tears in my eyes even.

Thank you Natalie for allowing me to read this early in exchange for an honest review! It will be released on December 6th, and you won't want to miss it this holiday season!

I have mixed feelings for these moments.
The concept was very intriguing and the story full of anguish.
I couldn’t quite connect with the main characters or feel their connection.
It was fast paced but there were some descriptive paragraphs that I totally skipped.
While all (but one) of the events that Claire dreamt of actually happened, the last one did not have the same outcome. Why? Because she tried to prevent it whilst did nothing for the others?
Anyway, the ending brought me down. I can’t tell you exactly what I expected but the execution spoiled it for me.

So many emotions as I finished reading this! Natalie Banks's attention to detail makes the reader feel like they are actually a part of the story. Her writing activates all of the senses. And the slow build up to the final chapter had my heart racing. Thank you to Natalie Banks for giving me the opportunity to read this book prior to it's release!

Claire DuPont seems to have the perfect life. An amazing husband, two little boys, the dream house and she is a stay at home mom. What more could someone ask for? A tragedy happens and her husband is then killed in a terrible accident while riding on a train. But why was he on this train, it doesn't make sense?

Claire goes into a dark downward spiral, as anyone who loses a loved one often does. Her kids are over at Gammy's, as become a ritual as of lately and she is left alone with her thoughts and grief. But Claire can hear noises, someone's in her house? Panic starts to set in. Did the kid go to Gammys?

She hears the footsteps getting closer to her room. She hides herself under the covers, as the steps come into her room, go into the bathroom and the shower starts. Is she losing her mind? Then her two boys come running into the bedroom.

It can't be! Her husband comes out of the bathroom as if it's just another day. Her boys are there with her as if nothing has drastically changed in their life. No, no, no. This is all wrong. He died. How is he here now, back? She can't believe her eyes.

The date on the calendar is six months earlier. Did she dream this all? Was it just a long terrible nightmare. As the days go by, events that she dreamed about, happen. Just as she knew they would. Is this some sort of premonition she had? What is really going on? If this did already happen, can she stop it from happening again? What if she does, will it alter anything else?

As Claire works with this internal struggle that she cannot seem to explain to anyone else, she is realizing things about herself, her life and the others around her. Is everything and everyone always as they seem?

This was a well written story, and I couldn't seem to read it fast enough. I wanted to know what was going on, what happened as it got closer to this doomed date of his "first" death.

I want to thank the author for reaching out to me, and giving me the opportunity to read and review this novel. I will look forward to reading more by her, and am excited for the next thriller.

Have you ever had such a remarkably vivid dream that it affected you all day? A dream so powerful that you couldn’t shake it?

In Natalie Banks’ novel, The Moments Between, that’s exactly what happens to Claire DuPont, but in her case, the dream begins to bleed over into her reality, making her question everything in her life.

Six months prior to Claire’s dream, she tragically lost her husband of nine years, Ben, in a terrible train accident. Trying to adjust to her new life as a widow and single mother of two young boys, she begins leaning on her family, having her sister take the boys for overnight stays on the weekend. But one morning, when she knows the boys are still at her sister’s, Claire awakes from a horrible dream and hears loud noises in her kitchen. Paralyzed with fear, she braces herself for an intruder to attack, but when it turns out to be Ben, she’s so utterly confused and overwhelmed that she doesn’t know what to do with herself. Ben is back in her life, like he never died, and as Claire looks at her phone and realizes the date is three months before his supposed death, her head and heart are left reeling.

Convincing herself that Ben’s death was just a horrible nightmare, Claire attempts to continue with her life just as it was before Ben was gone, but when other things from her dream begin to come true (a bakery burning down, one of her sons needing stitches, a girls’ trip being canceled), she can’t shake the feeling that her nightmare is foreshadowing her reality, and she has to do something to stop it.

This suspenseful story really pulled me in and had my heart racing as I was sped along on the rollercoaster of emotions Claire experienced throughout this book. While the plot largely focuses on Claire and the myriad of emotions she feels as she tries to sort through her dream, Banks also does a great job of exploring the troubled relationships in Claire’s extended family, the marital problems that exist between Claire and Ben, and the importance of living in the moment and appreciating who and what you have.

This book releases today (Dec. 6), so make sure to grab a copy!

3.5– an interesting story line that reminded me to be grateful & present. I was on the hook the entire time & deeply felt for the main character & her agony. I loved the descriptions of the home & the descriptions of the setting. The book has some editing errors & I felt some of the additional story lines were a bit unrealistic (the way people talked & treated each other mostly— nothing over the top) but it was overall an enjoyable story & I’m glad I read it.

After loving The Water is Wide, I knew I needed to read more from this author and I simply inhaled this book! When Claire awakens from a dream in which her husband was killed in a train accident to find he's still alive, she's mystified but delighted that it was all just a "dream." But later as other things she's imagined begin to come true, she worries that maybe it is simply fate taking her life on a collision course with destiny. As her life unravels and we get the backstory of her dysfunctional family and misconceptions she's grown up with, we see a woman desperate to save her husband and family. Banks speaks to themes of resilience, love, redemption, sacrifice, and of course appreciation for those whom we love because "all we really have in this life to hold onto...are the moments between." I just adored it!

“They say if you pretend something long enough, it starts to become truth to you.”

Claire’s husband died six months ago in a train accident, leaving her alone with their two children.
One morning she wakes up to find him alive with her, when she sees the date in her phone it’s three months before the accident her first thought is that her husband dying was just a very bad dream, but then she realizes that events are unfolding exactly as they did before the accident and she vows herself to stop at nothing to save her husband this time.
The Moments Between is fast paced book that kept me intrigued and guessing the whole time. It gave me all the feels.
It’s a story that’ll remind you to treasure your life and to live in the moment.

Thank you Natalie Banks for giving me the opportunity to read and review your book.

3.5-4 Stars

The writing was strong and fairly compelling with an intriguing plot line. I did find that there were some elements that wrapped up or were explained away too easily (ie. Mandi’s behavior and birth, reconciliation w/ father) With a little more development in those situations, it would have been perfect.

While I wanted a happy ending, I felt that this particular ending didn't correlate well with the dream/outcome of every other event preceding it. Therefore, it again felt easily explained away. I won't quibble too much about that, because I loved Ben and his devotion to his marriage and family. He was beautifully characterized and I wanted a positive outcome for him. Overall, I enjoyed my reading time.

It’s almost six months since her husband is dead. She is just trying to cope with it when she wakes up one morning to find her husband alive and her life back to routine like how it used to be before.
She is very confused. Thinking that the death was just a nightmare she tries to forget it but then things which happened in her nightmare starts to happen in real life. This makes her more anxious because ultimately it will lead to her husband’s death.

I love books with some mystery elements. But here the book was not intriguing. The most important thing is a connection or chemistry of the main leads which was very much lacking here. Maybe it’s just me but this was dull.

“All we really have in this life to hold onto...are the moments between."

I have read all of Natalie Banks’ novels and devoured each one. I count myself as her number one fan! Just when I couldn’t imagine finding another book to top my favorite The Canary’s Song – Ms. Banks did it again! I loved The Moments Between! From the first paragraph until the last, I was engrossed in Claire’s world.

Claire’s world has turned upside down when her husband, Ben died in a train wreck. When Claire realizes that her husband is actually alive and well, actual events begin to unfold. Claire will do anything to protect her precious family. She does not want to alert and alarm those closest to her, and she sure doesn’t want them to think that she is crazy – although she is crazy with worry. Will Claire be able to stop Ben’s untimely death? That question will be answered, but you first must read the book! Don’t delay – You will not be sorry.

I love how Natalie builds her characters and includes real life situations that you can relate to. I really enjoy learning more about North Carolina in all of her books. Similar to her other novels, The Moments Between has many twists and turns. Secondary characters also play an integral role in the plot. Claire’s dysfunctional family and her childhood make the reader wonder if she really made up events in order to bring the family closer together. I couldn’t wait to see the outcome, but I also wasn’t ready to leave Claire’s world either.

Thanks to Natalie Banks for sending me an advanced copy of this book. I received this before publication and really expected to have my review in much quicker – unfortunately life happened.

I’m going to be honest: I did not care for this book. I did not like or connect with any of the characters. The dialogue and scenes made my skin crawl. I literally gagged when Claire and Ben were dancing in an oyster restaurant. I do not understand in the slightest how you would not tell the man of your dreams, your husband and lover, a dream that upset you to the point of concerning depression, and then why he would then so flippantly brush you off. Was a reason ever given for his distrust of the supernatural? Not directly, or I missed it somehow. If you cannot confide your concerns in your most trusted confidant, your husband, then I’m not sure what kind of relationship that is. Their relationship seemed at odds with each other. One minute, they’re like teenagers in love. The next, she can’t, won’t, tell him what’s bothering her, almost effectively pushing him out and away. I most of all cannot understand why everyone so quickly resorted to “shrieking.” If you ever need a thesaurus reference for “shouted,” this book is your go-to manual.

What I did like about this novel is that it brought me back to recent my mantra: Let Go. You cannot control everything. If you try, it backfires. It always does. The only thing you can control in your life is yourself, your words, your actions. You can let life, fate, control and consume you, or you can truly relish each moment, savor every day with the people you love and care about. Don’t push people away. Don’t feel like you have to go through life alone. People love you. People care. Let go of everything you are afraid to lose. And for that, I can ultimately, while begrudgingly, appreciate The Moments Between.

I told the lovely @officialnataliebanks that I would review her new book The Moments Between before it came out on 12/6. I was honored. Here we are the night before the release and I haven't finished the book. 🙄 I am enjoying the book, the premise is fascinating. Claire has been a widow for six months when she wakes to find it is three months before the date of the crash that killed her husband. He's in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Was it all a terrible dream? Can Claire keep it from coming true? As the date of the crash draws near, tensions build... and I can't wait to see where Natalie is going with this! The characters are interesting and I want to know what happens to everyone. Y'all, don't wait on me; go ahead and get yourself a copy! (Just don't send me any spoilers!)

Thank you Natalie Banks for providing me with a complimentary copy of The Moments Between!

This is a riveting story about Claire DuPont fighting to prevent the death of her husband Ben. Claire has a three month time frame in putting the pieces together of events that seem too odd to be coincidental. Claire also confronts longstanding family conflicts in her quest toward keeping Ben alive.

I was very engaged in The Moments Between, wondering what will happen to Claire as she fights to keep normalcy intact. Through all of the interactions she carries with friends and family, the important theme in the story is clear: Cherish every moment with loved ones, no matter how small.

Don’t miss the chance to pick up The Moments Between on December 6. It’s a captivating, heartwarming book!

Still reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Claire wakes up only to find it is six months earlier and her husband is still alive. Stunned, Claire chalks it up to a horrible dream until events start resurfacing, causing Claire to question everything.
Natalie Banks weaves a beautifully detailed tale of life and all that comes with that. From love and loss to navigating family dynamics, Claire’s story reminds us to be present each day and enjoy “the moments between.” This captivating story had me quickly turning pages in suspense, eager to see how Claire’s story ends!

Book 12/100: The Moments Between by Natalie Banks. Nataliaereached out to me through my bookstagram and sent me a copy to review her book, and I was delighted that she did! I'm sorry it took so long to read! It has been a hectic time since her and I had last chatted, so many books on the go, the struggle gets real, and with the looming holidays, time was scarce in December and January was an overwhelming month. But now, I was able to sit down and flip through these pages as if I was living in the characters shoes. The main character is stubborn, I definitely related to that, maybe less so considering my last year's experience had taught me a lot, but her growth amazed me. Amazed in a good and bad way, I'm surprised it took so long for her to realize she had to start living in the moment, but glad she realized it eventually. The characters all have their own personality and stories which I deeply appreciated, quite a bit of depth to the main ones. A lot of deep topics and words to think about as I reached the end, I thought it fluffy at the beginning and not my kind of genre but I grew to love the story in its whole and glad I sat myself down to finish it! (It's difficult when I have to use my phone and not my kobo!) Thank you Natalia! The Epilogue was also exactly the message I needed tonight.
