If you love a tortured hero who thinks he's undeserving of anyone's love and an equally lonely heroine, you must try this. DID I MENTION THEY WERE BOTH VIRGINS? I loved this! A lot of it comes from the fact that I could connect with the writing and the characters were both very endearing.
Book seven in the Galaxy Gladiators series was AMAZING!!! This book was the sweetest story about finding friends, family and love among the unforgiving circumstances of the galaxy! The setting reminded me of seeing Avatar for the first time by the way the planet was described so beautifully by the author. It was the perfect setting for Sirius and Aliyah to find each other with all the tenderness and care needed for two lonely souls never believing they would find themselves in a situation to be able to embrace a future with love and happiness of their own. They each gave the other the most precious gift of all. Aliyah taught Sirius he could love himself and Sirius taught Aliyah he could touch more than just her heart.
Sirius captures the story of two people who have been painted as undesirable or untouchable since their upbringing. I appreciated the slow-burn romance and the pay-off of their joining. I enjoy Alana Khan’s writing and will happily read any book she publishes. Sirius is another winner.
This was more of a departure from the author's usual setting of space sci-fi meeting strong survivors....still had the strong survivor theme in both the hero and heroine, but felt more like tarzan and jane (without the corniness). The subliminal message of self-worth and self-love was a great one, especially given we're suffering right now in America on race relations where merely looking different can cause a rift. Having the geneslave love himself for all of his attributes and looks by the end of the novel was heart warming. Does it make me want to read the short story about the planet and Jax-xon? Oddly not so much, I kind of want more space and gladiators..so onto Jax I go!
Freakin Fabulous!! As soon as I saw another reviewer mention this was a “dual virgins” sci fi romance I was THERE!! One click and dived in!
Story was great, almost had a “avatar” feel to it.
I loved that not only were both MCs virgins and therefore were each other’s first and only, experiencing their sexual awakening with their soulmate, no other memories of others sliming all over them, but I loved that each found healing and redemption for their broken parts in The other. It was a gorgeous story.
Both virgins, they belong to only the other. No ow/om. No abuse or cheating of any kind. HEA with epilogue.
This story is about two “broken” people finding their way to love and a happy, fulfilling life.
Aliyah is considered an “untouchable” in her tribe. So, from an early age she receives no hugs, kisses, or any form of touch. It is a lonely existence.
Sirius is created in a test tube to be a slave, perfect soldier, and expendable. His creators have convinced him that he has no emotions and that he’s not worthy of pretty much anything.
When Sirius and Aliyah meet there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. However, through Aliyah’s persistence, Sirius starts to realize he has something to offer and, more importantly, that he deserves a life of happiness just like everyone else. I was drawn in from the first chapter. Alana Khan has proved again why she is an automatic one click buy for me. I loved this book!
I thought that Aliyah was too accepting at times. A woman who is rarely touched, even affectionately, and a virgin would have more caution in my opinion. However, this did not make my enjoyment of the story any less.
I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review.
Sirius was a lost soul, created in a lab and just trying to survive. Alayah was an innocent, displaced human living with a primitive tribe of green people who saved her and her mother years earlier. When these two meet it was instant attraction and the road to redemptive healing for Sirius. Such a sweet love story.
How hard we could make someone's life by doing what we think is best for them! This book broke my heart :-( I mean really, Ms Khan! I am not going to spoil the book for you, it has a great love story and an amazing story of how we can find our better half in an incredible situation where Sirius has almost given up Love these series
Sirius definitely pulls at the heart strings. He's such a damaged character and so accepting of the terrible things done to him. Fortunately, he meets a human female who is attractive to him and willing to fight for their happiness. Their attraction saves them both. The only sad part of this story is Allah's mother. I wish Jax- Xon could have had his happy ever after.
This sweet story is beautiful. It takes you and holds you captive, has wonderful passages that radiate satisfaction in their simple joy and you find tension, drama and uncertainty that won't let you go until the problem is solved. None of the characters is powerful and tries to make or anticipate decisions and developments for others. I especially like the fact that everyone can find themselves in their own time. Wonderful, simple and moving!
A beautiful love story that capture your heart and makes you feel the pain , Sirius, is in with plenty of action, adventure, drama, love, self doubt, and a beautiful mate, that loves him more than anything. You won't be disappointed in any way and keep them coming they are awesome.
OMG! I was on pins and needles waiting for this book to release and it is here! The author did not disappoint with Sirius' story. It leaves off after Sirius volunteered to fight to save his friends and he is taken to a planet and forced to "survive" being hunted. There he meets Aliyah. I loved how these two come together with her saving him and nursing him and then their journey together. This book was great because Sirius really comes into his own. Alana Kahn does some amazing world building in this series and for this world she did not disappoint. If this is your first foray into the series, please start with Zar. Every book is great And every love story is amazing!
Another fantastic read! Fast paced read, packed with action, adventure, danger and red hot romance with heartbreaking moments that will pull at your heartstrings. Sirius is a gene slave, created in a lab, starved, tortured and forced to fight, he has nothing to live for. Until he is saved by Aliyahthat offers him everything he ever dreamed. However, nothing is easy and Sirius struggles with his limitations or believing he is worthy of Aliyah. Give this book a try! Hell, give this whole series a try! I promise you will not regret it. Highly recommended. Thus copy was given to me in exchange of a honest review
*For full transparency I am an Advanced Reader for Alana Khan. I trade reading copies of her books prior to publishing for honest reviews on Amazon Prime and Goodreads. *
For me, one of the things I enjoy most about Alana’s books are the characters and the engaging nature of their trials and tribulations. Sirius as a book did not disappoint. Fully immersive from the beginning to the end, with plenty of action and drama to sink your teeth into throughout. In my opinion the book can be read as a stand-alone, but I’d always recommend reading a series as it immerses the reader in all of the characters and their backgrounds before moving forward.
I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. The 2 main characters both know what it is to be outsiders and eventually find their ‘belonging’ with each other. Sirius’s past is particularly tragic. He was genetically engineered with creators who took everything from him, even his thoughts and feelings. This is the story where he gets everything back. Aaliyah is a strong innocent and his perfect match. A great story with a well deserved happy ever after. I hope we get to read more about the geneslaves.
I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet glimpse into the lives of people who have been beaten down by the rest of the universe. Sirius believes his origins make him undesirable to the rest of humanity. He is wonderfully made to realize that love is beyond the simple elements of one’s birth or not.
I enjoyed that this book truly stood alone. I’ve only read the first book in the series and that gave me some idea of the world but there was very little overlap, leaving plenty of space for the story to unfold.
I enjoyed the characters, both primary and secondary, and their development over time. The unfolding and growing understanding of the heroine’s history by her was particularly well handled and well thought out. I also enjoyed how the main characters worked through their final living arrangements at the end of the story.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great book by this author. Sirius thinks he is just a useless genslave but when the federation comes for the crew he voluntarily goes. Dropped on a primitive world he is almost killed to be found by Aliyah and helped. However nobody would guess that the human untouchable and the ex slave would fall completely in love. This is such an excellent read Aliyah and her tribe are able to show sirus that is does not matter how you came about. Only who you turn out to be the world building is fantastic but read Jax-On if you can first it will help.
I really love this author. I listen mostly to audiobooks so I have to really love the author and the writing to find the time out of my busy life to read the books. I love this series and author so much I can’t wait so as soon as it’s released I read it. This book was my favorite so far I love both characters truly lovable. I feel there is a good balance of love scenes and world building I don’t find myself skimming so I can find out what happens next. I recommend not just this book but all Alana khan books.
I loved, loved, so loved this book. The imagery, characters, their journey of self, everything was incredible well written. Sirius' journey from "self-loathing to self-acceptance" was poignant but so rewarding.
I love this series! I have been checking back since December for this books release! They are so well thought out and interesting! I loved A, she was human, but she grew up among the natives, she knew she was different but her whole life was created around this primitive people. And Sirius, what a male! He was kind and patient and so smart! Great addition! Can’t wait until the next!
I was so excited to read this book about Sirius! And it didn't disappoint, giving us his view of his horrible life before joining our gladiators and humans. Then he gets a chance for a new life with romance and a happy ending. Wonderful. But I want to know more!! Dearest Alana, will there be a sequel?? I hope so!!
Alana has done it again! I was anxiously awaiting this release. The main character’s are so endearing and easy to love. Sirius with his low self-worth and Aliyah in her need for personal touch and loneliness just tug at your heart strings. Alana created yet another world that keeps you captivated until the very end.
I received a notice advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you hear and experience something all your life, good or bad, you'll believe it. One finds out who they are and one finds their worth through each other's eyes. This story is well written. It had my emotions right along with the main characters. Several times I wanted to cry. Then I was angry about the cruelty, then cheering. The example with the rock, That was beautiful! I am so delighted with this book!
What a fab next book in the series Galaxy Gladiators. Sirius' story can be read as a standalone too. Get yourself a cuppa and a comfortable seat and settle in for a great story. This story is about 2 people who are broken inside and find that love can show us who we really are. It has it all if your looking for a good read.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for a review. This is the seventh book in the galaxy gladiator series. These books seem to get better with each one read. This one is about Sirius, who we met briefly in the previous book. It was a really sweet and sexy story about the main hero learning to accept himself after what was done to him. The heroine we actually met in the short novella Jax-Xon when she was younger. She was a really great fit for Sirius and Ibliked them together. I really enjoyed this book and cant wait for the next one.
I fell in love with Sirius in the previous book and couldn't wait until his own book came out. It was worth the wait. This book is filled with wonderful characters, plenty of action and great world building. I received this book in exchange for a fair review, but if not I would have bought it.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for a review. This book was amazing so many twists and turns. It amazed me what Sirius had to go through in his story!! It was well worth it in the end!!
An incredibly engaging story that I became so immersed in, I had to clear my calendar, so I wouldn’t have to stop reading! A complex plot with unexpected twists and turns, and scientific inventions that we can only hope will be in our futures, the women are strong and bold, the men brave, smart, possessive in the best ways possible, and physically phenomenal. There are many correlations to the history of life and the cultures on Earth (e.g., colonization, slavery, invasions, women’s rights, leadership, etc.), And the up close and seriously personal steamy scenes? Really well done!
