Resistance is my first read from K.E. Osborn and was a great introduction to her writing. I thought the story was very intriguing and the characters were all very easy to like. It's no secret that the MC genre is a favorite of mine, and there are a ton of books out in it. So reading this book and seeing how Ms. Osborn was able to still put her own unique spin on a genre that already has so many different authors writing in it was amazing.
I did wish there was a little more romance shown between Torque and Heely but other than that I loved their relationship. Heely was so sassy and did not back down at all even when faced with a room full of bikers. And then you have Torque in all his sexy biker glory and it was just a really great mix of characters.
The book ends on an HEA for Heely and Torque but the club as a whole still has a lot of questions left unanswered so I can't wait to move on to the next book.

MY THOUGHTS:
This is the first book I have read from this author, and I must say I am really excited to support this Australian author. (Go Aussies!)
KE Osborn has a great writing style making it easy to engage the reader; The story captivates you within the first chapter, there is no boring fluff, it gets right into it and continues its pace throughout.
All the characters whether main or supporting had depth and likable qualities which instantly draws you to them. There are a few standouts that I hope KE Osborn gives their own book in the series.
I felt everything happened too quickly, it wasn’t drawn out enough. I was left wanting more of Heely and Torque. I wasn’t ready for it to end, I wanted more!
I love me a good MC Romance, I mean who seriously doesn’t find something incredibly sexy about an alpha male biker? But this was so much more than just a romance. The thrilling suspense had me flicking furiously through pages, there was guns and blood, sex and drama, mystery and fun.
This was a great easy read and I look forward to the next book in the series.

I really didn't like this book. It had some redeeming qualities, but there were too many things that irked me to actually like it. If I'm being honest, I almost stopped reading around the 30% mark simply because I was bored and had no desire to continue reading. It's a bloody miracle that I did decide to go on. I am not the type of person to DNF a book, otherwise, this one would have definitely been abandoned.
I am just going to start off with what I disliked the most, which was the romance. This book is the strictest definition of instalove and I hated it. It was totally unbelievable and a lot of the romantic banter was cringe-worthy. Some of it was so bad that I almost felt uncomfortable. Once the instalove card has been played it is unlikely that the romance can be saved for me. Even if the characters display real emotions and can stand on their own otherwise. The one good thing that the romance had going for it was the chemistry between the characters. Otherwise, the romance was too unrealistic to have any merit.
Another thing that bothered me was the portrayal of the motorcycle club/biker culture. I don't know if the author has any real-life experience in this area, but it did not seem like it to me. Since the day I was born, I grew up in the biker culture. My parents were bikers when I was a child and they are still part of a motorcycle club to this day. The world-building associated with biker culture was too unrealistic for my liking. It may just be that my real life experience differs from others, but it was still hard to get a grasp on the story when all of the world-building is surrounded by this culture and it feels like it was written by someone that has no idea what they are talking about.
I felt like the plot had some promise. It definitely isn't a mind-blowing story that will blur the lines of reality with its epicness, but in terms of a guilty pleasure romance read it works.
I liked the background and side characters in this book much more than the two main characters. When it comes to the two main characters, I have to admit that they do have nice chemistry and it was mildly entertaining to a point. But for the most part, I found them both rather annoying. They did both have some nice qualities about them that made their characters stronger, but I could not get over how maddening they could be most of the time. I felt Torque was the stronger of the two main characters. His backstory was strong and full of emotion. Heeley was largely vexing and some of her dialogues had me cringing. I think that the members of the motorcycle club and the froyo shop pals were more interesting most of the time.
Overall, this just wasn't for me. My real world parallels were too vastly different from what was portrayed in the book for me to really get into the story. The romance was disappointing, and while some of the background characters were enjoyable, that wasn't enough to save this one for me. I also found numerous spelling errors that made me wonder how they could have possibly been missed in a round of editing. I can't say that I can recommend this book, but if motorcycle club romance is your thing then you will probably enjoy it.

SOLD IT. I was all up with that.
But then I started reading and… it was not what I was expecting. I struggled a little bit reading it but some of the characters, specially Heeley's brother and sister, made the book worth finishing.
It was not that I didn't like the major characters, it was that I didn't feel their chemistry—it felt forced. Also, Torque was not my kind of biker. He was on the soft side.
The ending was a surprise—a good one. It left me wanting to know what is going to unfold in the next book, so even though this was just ok for me, I think I will be reading book two.

Ehhhhhhh this just didn’t grab me or even keep me invested. There was a lot going on and I just couldn’t connect with Torque and Heeley, idk, they just didn’t mesh for me:(

First time reading this author. I really liked it!! There were a few times I stumbled over a few sentences and had to reread to figure out what was supposed to be said but not many. She seems to get it together more as the book went on.
Torque is the president of the MC. He inherited it from his father when he died. Torque was raised in the club and found his first love there. You will learn what happened there because I'm not going to spoil it for you. He makes a great leader because he thinks things through unlike his father. They have a rivalry with the Italians. He is trying to keep more of his men from dieing.
Heeley is on her way to becoming a doctor. She is in school and she works at her parents ice cream store. Since she is the oldest they expect her to keep the business going but her younger brother is wanting to do that. Heeley meets Torque and at first she hates him and she gives him sass. He loves it. They start to get together but he gives her a choice... be with him and know everything about the club or be with him and can never know what is going on meaning no trust or not at all. She has a big decision to make.
There is also something else going on in their area. All businesses are being bought up for less than they are worth....who is behind this and why?
Can't wait to start the next book.

This is my first book by this author. I really liked it!! There were a few sentences that I had to reread to figure out what she was saying but I figured it out easily. I will say if an author is from another country but writes a book that takes place in America then American English should apply. Just my opinion.

DNF --I tried so hard to get through this book.
But I couldn't. At 63%, I had to stop. At the very least, Rylan (Torque) wasn't so bad. Everyone else just annoyed me. The heroine, I can't even remember her name, wasn't relatable or realistic. For someone going to school to be a doctor, she seemed too immature and ridiculous with her jokes and sass.
Aside from the story and characters being bland, the writing was too clunky for my taste. Every little detail is present in this book. Personally, it was overkill, but I'm sure some will like being told every.little.detail. Sentences were too long. And I've never seen so much neck cracking in all my life!! Holy crap, there was a lot! Or someone "pausing for dramatics." It became redundant after a couple of times in the book.
The rub? I love MC stories and was hoping I'd found a new one to lose myself in. Nope.

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review. This was very first book by this author. As soon as she sent me the blurb I was like he'll yes I love Mc romances they are best kind! Torque is not your average biker president yes he is demanding and gets what he wants. But he also knows when to reel it in, he has a bit of soft side. Which is extremely admirable. But he's also one sexy bad ass. Heely I love her sass, how she doesn't let men walk all over her.she would be an awesome girl friend to have around. Now as for Trax he's bad ass to the t I know he can put anyone in there place which is a complete turn on!

Resistance is the first book in the Chicago Defiance MC series and also my first book by KE Osborn. I liked Heeley and her siblings as they definitely made the book a bit more light hearted and humorous in the beginning. This book is also what you would expect of an MC story - in particular, the women, the violence but also the brotherhood and family aspect😁
Torque is an unusual biker Pres but I liked him. Because Osborn is a new to me author, I found I have to get used to the way she writes but I enjoyed this story and will see if the next book will also grab my attention❣️

I was so thrilled to read this new MC Romance, and even more thrilled to find out it was the beginning of a new series!! So I started reading with my fingers crossed that it would be a really good one!!
OMG!!! Where do I start? And how do I explain to you why this is an outstanding MC Romance?! And ESPECIALLY how do I do this without gushing out a bunch of oh I love it, I love it, I love it!! Which I do!!
Anyway, let me see...where to start. Well, how about this! There is both the Chicago Defiance MC and The Italian Mafia In this book!! Cool, huh? And let’s say, they are NOT friends. Also, I really like the way K C Osborn handled the MC brotherhood, the clubhouse, the club girls and the whole family atmosphere. She really introduces us to the different members, and we learn a little about each one. And I felt as though I really cared about the Chicago Defiance MC by the end of the book, I look forward to reading more about them.
Torque is the MC President. I love Torque. He is one very sexy, bad boy, biker! He has had a sad past. But he meets Heeley in her parent’s Froyo store, where she is working part time. Torque is attracted to Heeley right away, but it takes some work for him to win Heeley over. Not that she isn’t attracted. She is busy with going to college, working hard to become a doctor. Plus she works part time in her parent’s Froyo store. So she feels she has no time for a relationship. He’s very persistent and very sweet. Of course, we know he wears her down or this wouldn’t be a romance.
There’s lots of action between the Italian Mafia and the Chicago Defiance MC. It gets pretty intense. It’s a real battle.
So this book really has it all, for an MC Romance!! I am SO EXCITED for the next book in the Chicago Defiance MC Series!!!

Another great MC book! Heely is so sassy, you can’t help but love her. Torque, she knocks him on his &$$! He wasn’t expecting someone like her when he ran into her store. I really enjoyed this book & loved the twist & Suspense in it. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen in the next book. Watching Heely work things through in her head & Torque dealing with the unexpected at his clubs door... this book is full of action & hot sex. I do love that Torque is staying true & loyal but also working with everything that is thrown at him.

A chance encounter helps Heeley and Torque find each other. From two different sides of the track but they have the best chemistry going. Love the sass and hot sex but can’t wait to see where the story leads next.

I cannot say too much because I don't want to give the storyline away. Heeley and Torque's story was amazing! I loved every moment of the ride K.E. took us on! The danger and passion will keep you at the edge of your seat. This is a great beginning to a new series. Welcome, Defiance MC!

Torque is the President of the Defiance MC, he has lived through some devastation. Torque thinks of the MC as his family and always puts them before himself. Torque and a few of his brothers needed a place to lay low one evening and they ducked into a Froyo shop, that's where he saw her.
Heeley does not want to do into the family business. Dairy, I've cream, froyo, is NOT what Harley wants for her life. Heeley wants to be a doctor. Heeley goes to school, goes home, goes to work at her parents Froyo store, goes home to study and falls asleep just to wake up and do the same thing again. Heeley has no time for dating, relationships, men, but then he comes into the Froyo store while she's at work.
MC stories are almost always about brotherhood and looking out for each other, I like that about them. This shows a lot of character development for Heeley. All of these characters are pretty great. There is some good world build for the Defiance dance club, it described quite vividly. I think this is a great start to a new series.

This one is hard for me to rate. There were parts I loved and parts that just didn't work for me.
I did like the dynamic between Heeley and Torque for the most part. There were times where Heeley was strong, but there were more times she came across as immature. The banter between her and Torque was great.

As President of the Defiance MC, Torque has to wade in when members of his club get into trouble. That is how Torque finds himself hiding in a Froyo shop getting a tongue lashing from feisty server Heeley. The attraction was immediate but with threats surrounding his MC is the time right to build something with Heeley who is in med school and has goals of her own? Entertaining, I loved Heeley she is a firecracker. Torque is full of swagger that oozes off each page. Story starts off with a bang and does not let up until the very end.

Defiance
I have to admit I went into this book by K E Osborn just from a video shared on FB and she just rocked my world. This action packed adventure drew me in and tilted my world on its axis and that ending was just explosive. I can’t wait for the next one!!!

This is a new new author to me and I definitely will read her again. I absolutely loveeed Heeley, she had so much attitude that I love. Torque was a great respectful alpha and I loved them together. This story starts out fast , slows down then picks back up. Can't wait to read the next one.

Resistance!
So happy a friend recommended this series to me. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely finish the rest of the books. Torque is the president of the Defiance MC. He has a heavy burden on his shoulders. He has suffered losses in his life and is trying to be the best president he can to his brothers. He meets Heeley while taking cover from a rival group. She's full of sass and beautiful and he is drawn to her. Heeley is a pre-med student working in her family's froyo store. Heeley and Torque have amazing chemistry and I enjoyed watching them fall in love and get their HEA. Great start to a new series

INCREDIBLE BEGINNING!!! I love a good MC story, and KE Osborn doesn't disappoint. The storyline is incredible. Action packed and full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are amazing. Torque is one hot, sexy, bad boy, alpha biker. He's the president of Defiance MC. He meets Heeley when bursts into her families froyo shop in his attempt to escape the Andretti. Heeley is a little spitfire. I absolutely love her character. She's studying to be a doctor. She rides her own motorcycle and she gives Torque a run for his money. There's great chemistry between Torque and Heeley. But sometimes it takes more than great chemistry to make a relationship work. Heeley is torn between his outlaw biker ways and the oath she must take as a doctor. Can she find a way to make things work with Torque? Or is his biker lifestyle just too much for her? There's danger lurking in Chicago. No one is truly safe. Will the Defiance MC be able to conquer this threat alone? Or will they need to join forces with men they hate the most? This is going to be a great series. I'm excited to see what KE Osborn has in store for us next.

As usual K.E Osborn brings a lil something something to the table and never let's her readers down. with this brand new MC series to add to her ever growing repertoire. Readers will enjoy this book that brings a brotherhood together in the face of uncertainty a long drawn out war that started over a decade ago that began with Torques father and the head of the Italian mafia . yet due to a new arrival in town , one when they we're pited against each other now have to join forces and put trust in one another to bring down this new war lord . All hell breaks loose when they both realise that they have been played . there's so much more to this story the love between Torque and Heeley or i should say lust , builds and heeley realises with the help of Dr Kline that she can be a bad ass soon to be dr and Torques old lady you just have to stop fighting the resistance.

What an absolutely great start to a new MC series. Resistance marks the first book for me by this author and I am hooked. I am loving the Chicago Defiance series. K.E Osborn has a writing style that I just really like. Her character development, how she writes them, portrays them and just the pace of the story caught me.

I enjoyed this book SO much! Sometimes you’re given and ARC and you cross your fingers that you’ll like it or at least find some good things to say about the book. With Resistance, I didn’t have to worry at all. It’s a quick read and it kept me interested the whole time. Reading it gave me serious Sons of Anarchy vibes in the very best way. The two main characters are very likable. The guy, Torque, who even though he’s an alpha male, isn’t obnoxiously so. And Heely, the good girl med student who works at her parent’s froyo store, still has some edge to her. I love that these characters were multi-dimensional. I also loved that the plot had a bit of a twist and wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. It does leave you on a bit of a cliff hanger, but not hanging by your fingertips or anything. Just standing at the edge, waiting for the next book to come out. Well done K.E. Osborn!

I loved this story. From the moment I started the characters just grabbed my attention and the story held my interest right to the end. It was fast paced, and full of surprises which kept me guessing. The tough guy Torque had all the usual MC alpha male traits and more which made him a very interesting character and Heely’s a “good girl” but no pushover, she worked as a med student and makes extra money at her parents Froyo store.
I enjoyed how this story came together. There was twists and drama, serious angst and grit and of cause plenty of steamy action to heat up the pages. The addictive storyline was terrific and we meet many prominent secondary characters, I’m looking forward to their stories. I highly recommend this book!

Hot Damn!!!!!! Resistance will have you gripped and held hostage to the pages from the start. KE Osborn knows how to take us on one hell of a ride when it comes to her MC series and Torque and Heeley’s story is perfect proof of that. This first book in the Chicago Defiance is witty, full of angst and grit, packed full of drama and has some seriously steamy scenes that might just melt you to the core. You will not only fall in love with this couple but the whole entire club. If you haven’t yet put on your leathers and strapped your helmet on for a ride with the Chicago Defiance then hurry up because this is one ride you don’t want to miss.
