Abi and the Boy Who Lied

Rate this book

Someone’s out to get me. I just don’t know who.

It’s been the craziest year of my life, and celebrating graduation with Jon just makes it all feel real. Like maybe I can have my happily ever after.

But then Grandma hands me a graduation card. And there’s no address on it. No signature. Just six words from a complete stranger that turn my life upside down.

I’m supposed to be getting ready for college. Dealing with moving away from my friends after actually finding some. Enjoying my relationship with Jon. But maybe all of that is the least of my worries. Because I know one thing for sure: someone is out to get me.

I just hope I can find out who it is without losing the love of my life in the process.

Continue reading the second book in Abi’s story, a sweet young adult/new adult romance filled with swoony kisses, thrilling moments, and enough adrenaline to last Abi a lifetime.

Ok again I should know better going in that there would be teen dramalama and as much as I don’t’ like it this series has me hooked.

I need to know what is going to happen with Abi and Jon.

Their friends and everything.. I can tell you I was NOT expecting that!! I mean holy moly!!
I kind of suspected Abi had a bit of a control issue and controlling her food would be one thing she could control after her childhood I kind of expected that.

Again the narration was good for this kind of book

I skimmed through most of this.
Abi is still dealing with her body issues and insecurities.
There is a mystery as to who is sending Abi the notes.

This book was okay, Abi was overly annoying with her self pity and lack of confidence. I understand that she came from a hard childhood background, but she was using it, which caused a huge rift in her relationships with those who cared the most for her. Towards the end of the book had the most action and showed that the character was ready to let go of her past and move forward.

So so sad

This story is tragic. For the record, it has a good ending overall, but the whole thing was so sad. Abi is in college trying to adjust ans what does Jon do? I tell you what he doesn't do....he doesn't make her a priority.
A stalker starts to bug Abi, making her scared and insecure, she struggles with eating, Jon distances himself and doesn't include her when she wants to be there for HIM smh
Thats a lot to juggle. I knew who the stalker was but for Abi, I could understand why she was surprised and heartbroken. Everyone seems out to her hurt, but once again she has a few friends that got her back.
Jon doesn't come to his senses until he almost loses Abi. He dumped her when she needed him most, even if her mental state wasn't right. I honestly am not a fan of Jon and wish she'd found someone else. Everything he does is so wrong for her. Including hanging out with his friends and girls without inviting his gf 😒 She never even calls him out for making her believe he'd never slept with anyone else. And makes me like him even LESS to know it was with the Ex he was just using last year smh
Poor Abi. I love her friends and her though and I could relate to some of Abi's issues. And while unlike her, I don't have sexy body, I do have body image issues and feelings of not being good enough. I felt for her and felt a connection to her. I hope Jon treats her better in the next book. She deserves all happy things.

Kelsie Stelting has a wonderful way with words that brings her characters to life and make them so relatable. She also writes adult romance under the name Kelsie Hoss - highly recommend!

Abi and the Boy Who Lied is a continuation of Abi's story after high school has ended. She finds herself navigating the huge changes that come with going away for college, meeting new people and trying to keep up with requirements.

One thing that sticks out most to me about this book is the reality of mental health - trauma does not magically go away when things start going well. Despite struggling with my own thoughts and relating to Abi's issues, with an outside perspective, I wanted to shake her.

Favorite Quote: “You are amazing. You overcome obstacles, you love with your whole heart, and you never let what anyone thinks of you crowd out what you think of yourself. And when you start doubting yourself, you just come right back to me, and I’ll tell you how much I love you. How much you should love yourself. You hear me?”

This book must be read as part of the series. If you haven’t read the previous books, you must read it first or you will be completely lost.

Abi and her friends graduate high school and are looking towards the future. Skye’s boyfriend, Andrew, proposes, and the gang is all making plans to go their separate ways. But one thing threatens to take away all of Abi’s happiness, self-confidence, and her hard work at bettering herself: she begins receiving strange and frightening letters in her mailbox. Who could be sending them? And why?

This story moves very fast so hang on tight readers!

A really good sequel to Abi and the Boy Next Door. My heart goes out to Abi and all she has gone through and how that has affected who she think she is and how she sees herself. The author did a great job of making me sit on the edge of my seat wondering if Jon is that boy. So much growth for the characters. Just found out there is a book 3!!!!!

I enjoyed getting to follow Abi and Jon to college. And riding the suspense train with anonymous letters to Abi. I read in two sittings. I deducted 1 star because sex and pregnancy out of wedlock was a theme here. The rest of the story was very good. Bravo to the author, I did not predict who had written the letters till it was revealed.

Guilty By Association

This is the second book in the series and it should be read in order. This book sees Abi at college. Starting track and lots of classes. Her and Jon seem to be drifting apart. Secrets kept trying to keep things going are what tear them apart. To bad one of the reasons is stalking Abi and it goes way to far.

I don’t know what to say

I don’t remember how I found this series but I do know that I love it. I relate to abi because I too struggle with my self worth, and my weight and an eating disorder. I also have a sad past involving abuse. But this story is wholesome and sweet. It’s just the right amount of wholesome and suspenseful at times. Can’t wait for book 3!

Great story

Abi just wants to go to college with her boyfriend. Jon doesn’t know what to do anymore to show her she’s enough for him. Unfortunately, life isn’t always fair & tragedy will strike again.

Again Another good read.

The first book was amazing and I wondered how the second would follow. I really do find it amazing how this author manages to capture the feeling if Abi and the troubles she go through as she trys to break the cycle of her past. Really good book.

Not as good as book 1. Found myself skimming a lot of this one. I’m too far into this storyline to stop now so onto book 3 I go.

My kindle was attached to my moms account. These are my highlights you don’t wanna read these

Chapter 1
Highlight(pink) - Page 2 · Location 85
I read somewhere—probably in one of Grandma’s magazines—that some cultures fixed broken vases with gold. The liquified metal filled each of the cracks and made a design even more beautiful than before. The flaw made it even better. I hoped that was me. That somehow my past had weaved its way through my broken bits, and when I came back together, I was more interesting, more beautiful, worth more for all the struggles.

Jon laughed against my lips and pulled away. I kept ahold of his hand, though.

A smile touched my lips. A world without my friends wouldn’t be worth living in.

“No,” she said. “I want you to teach my child what it’s like to overcome the odds and fight for exactly what you want.”

“So I went back, every night, waiting for that SUV. And it came back. I followed it, all the way through Texas.
