Relive Jim Henson's classic film Labyrinth in a storybook that moves through the alphabet and is perfect for new and returning fans!
B is for Baby Brother, lost in the labyrinth. G is for the Goblin King, whose castle lies at the maze’s center. S is for Sarah, who must go on an incredible adventure to make it right. Only by journeying across the ABCs can our hero find her way through the labyrinth, with the help of fantastic creatures she meets along the way!
Jim Henson, one of the greatest creative minds of our time, created a fantasy world unlike any other in Labyrinth . Now you can relive Sarah’s adventure through the alphabet with letters for each of the film’s unforgettable characters and many twists and turns. Featuring beautiful art by acclaimed illustrator Luke Flowers, this memorable retelling will delight fans of every age.
If you are a fan of Jim Henson's Labyrinth starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, you will find this a fun read. It is an A-Z book, but instead of just says "S" is for "Sarah", Luke Flowers actually writes a shortened version of the movie and has each show-cased alphabet letter intertwined with the story--so that was pretty cool. Also this children's book had gorgeous illustrations inspired by the movie. So very nostalgic and sweet. 10/10 would recommend this for people of all ages!
Will definitely read to my 2 year old again when she’s more into books, but I enjoyed the illustrations and condensed version of the story :) definitely a keeper.
Such a great way to introduce kids to the alphabet and to the movie! Each letter was well depicted and I honestly think it got our kid to really like the movie more and not think thats it's some weird movie Mom and Dad watch that they think is good. Great pictures, not too long in the text but enough for things to make sense. Really happy with this and introducing my Kiddo to the Goblin King David Bowies...(I can't say Goblin King and not say David Bowie so thats who he is in the movie and book is "The Goblin King David Bowie"). My only complaint is, like a lot of hardback books for kids...why does it have a dust jacket? I hate dust jackets, i really truly do, and to have one on a kids book makes absolutely no sense to me. It goes on the part of the shelf that i call "the stupid collection of dust jackets for kids books that i feel like i need to keep but i'm not sure why because the whole idea of a dust jacket for a kids book is LUDO-criss". See what I did there? Ludo being a character and dust jackets are stupid...Ludo was actually in the running for my kids name, just throwing that out there. Sarah friend.
Labyrinth is my favorite movie and I was super excited to see someone was coming out with a Labyrinth book! The illustrations in this book were beautiful. I’m excited to add this book to my growing Labyrinth collection.
Luke Flowers always manages to encapsulate the feeling Jim Henson created through his own art style. It's a fun summary of the movie for kids, but is perfect for any age. There's also a little easter egg of Kermit the Frog in one of the pictures that made me tear up a little.
Did I buy this book more for myself than my daughter? Yes. Did I just thoroughly enjoy reading it? Yes. Will I read this again and show her the movie? Yes.
In other words, if you are a fan of Labyrinth, you will be a fan of this. It walks you through the movie, while also covering the ABC’s.
As a fan of ABC books and the movie Labyrinth, this gorgeous picture book by Luke Flowers was absolutely made for me. Each page of the alphabet moves readers through a summarized version of the film's plot, complete with adorable illustrations of favourite characters. A must read for Henson fans!
Although I obviously had no need for a children’s ABC book, as Labyrinth obsessed as I am, I couldn’t pass it up when my husband found it in a little book store in Jim Thorpe. The illustrations are super cute and I love the fact that the letter E stands for ‘Ello! 🤣💗🤣💗
I really liked this book, but my kid (was 7 months at the time) didn't care after I wouldn't let him crinkle the pages. I'll try again when he's a little older.
Labyrinth is one of my all time favorite books. This may have been a children's book, but any fan of the movie will absolutely love this book. So cute, and fun.
