Alien Mate #1

Alien Mate

Rate this book

Plump Diana is ironing her underwear when the hottest blue babe in all of the galaxy appears in her living room. Did she forget to mention he was naked too? Abducted, decontaminated and dressed like a harem girl, she’s been chosen to become the hunky alien’s mate.

Kor asked his ancestors to find him a biddable, docile mate, instead they found him Diana - a curvy, argumentative earthling who sets his pulse pounding and his loins on fire. He might be an alien who doesn’t understand the meaning of love, but he sure knows what he feels is more than lust.

Just what I needed after having my heart ripped out by Empire of Storms.

So, it's just a typical Sunday morning for Diana - ironing her underwear. I guess that's a typical morning for a lot of us..... Um, if we are weirdos. Who the hell irons underwear? How big must your underwear be to need ironing? Someone is wearing granny panties!

They are gateway underwear...

Diana is also dressed like a hipster hobo when a giant, blue, naked alien drops into her house. Typical, huh? It's always the day you look your worst when you run into your crush, your ex, the camera crew from Cops... sigh.

subtle..

Giant Mr. Blue Hunk informs Diana that she is his mate so he kidnaps her and takes her onto his spaceship. Now, that's a helluva first date. I get the movies or coffee and she gets intergalactic space travel? Maybe I should have been ironing my underwear!

Men are fascinated with women who iron.

So, Diana wakes up - naked - on a bed in a spaceship - no guy in sight. Plugh. If I had a dollar for every time this has happened to me...

Hey, who the hell gave me 4 quarters for a dollar? Those are gonna leave a mark.

Diana is not thrilled with her situation, although she is thrilled with the hunkiness of her captor. Hey, it could be worse.

But, she's suspicious of her situation, especially when he tells her that he needs to give her some shots. She pretty much freaks out to her alien captor/mate.

she railed back and forth about aliens and their needles. Although she did lose him for a bit when she ranted about anal probes. What kind of perverted medicine did earthlings practice anyway?

Yeah, right, dude. We are really buying that you haven't done any "probing" yourself on a planet with no women.

And, that's the other thing: what's with all of these planets with no women? Apparently, this is a universal problem. I feel kind of special now. Having breasts and all. How lucky can I be? (Well, except for when I jog. Then, I am willing to give up said breasts. I solve this problem by not jogging.)

This book was silly, and kind of fun. Not blue-barbarian caliber, but pretty close.

Raise your hand if you iron your underwear? No one? Diana does. She's a little plumper than your average gal so her undies contain little more fabric to actually wrinkle. Anyway, one day she's ironing away when this suddenly appears in her living room:

It's that bloke off Watchmen , a.k.a. a naked blue man with a huge, er...

His name is Kor'iander. Coriander? No, Kor'iander, or Kor for short. So Coriander turns to Diana in all his blue naked glory and demands her submissiveness, claiming she is his mate and he her "leader", come to collect her and return to his home planet, where incidentally everyone is blue.

I know, I know. Sounds weird and a little silly. I thought so too at first but it's a fun and honest story. It isn't pretending to be a grand, deep and meaningful saga. Coriander was adorable. He completely accepted and loved Diana's curves partly because the sight "A too-slim female is the sign of a poor provider", to Di's astonishment. Diana's refusal to immediately obey and bow to his wishes to mate with him left the poor guy flummoxed. He'd requested a docile partner to bond with when he put in his application to the Oracle and the ancestral spirits, and they're supposed to give you what you want, not what you need, which is what happened here. He was a gentleman, he never forced himself on her. Instead he listened to what she wanted and endeavoured to give it to her. Courtship was, forgive me, an alien concept to him but he gave in to her wishes and made his best effort to comply.

Di is a heroine I can appreciate. After reading many a clueless, too stupid to live lead, this girl, she made a HUGE mistake -a slip of the tongue but immediately afterwards without any prompting she knew she'd done wrong and wished to take it back. She freely admits she deserved a Darwin Award for her recklessness. Much better than blindly stumbling about with no regard for one's own safety and being too dumb to realise it.

However, it wasn't until just before they arrive at Kor's homeworld that this book started to press my "things I really like" buttons. The history of his race, the death of the women and the resulting sterility leading them to seek and take women from other races, mostly Earthlings because they both descend from the same humanoid race but have evolved slightly differently in accordance with their planet's environments. It's actually the suns that turn Kor's people blue, as Di discovers other Earthlings also have a blueish hue to their skins.

The scarceness of women on the planet mean that they're fiercely protected and must abide by certain rules in order to remain safe. Most of these women are from other worlds and are taken, stolen if you will, without their consent. This issue is addressed here. Not all of the women are happy, not all adjust to their new situation or accept their new "husbands" but these women were picked because they had few ties, no boyfriends/girlfriends or real friends and family to speak of, hopefully making it easier for them to embrace a new life where they'll be both loved and cherished.

I'm jealous of the technology mentioned. Housework would be history and I like the idea of having a laugh with my very own Holly (from the brilliant 80s TV show Red Dwarf). In this case his name is Alphie, the talking computer with a sarcastic attitude.

I'm not an alienist. If a blue god appeared before me, he wouldn't have to say a word. I'd jump into his arms and say "When are we leaving?"

I'd really like to add some but there are too many to choose from.

Cute.

This isn't a bad book but it does suffer from being the first in the series. I guess big, blue, hunky Kor is the stuff of many a fantasy who can literally beam me up like Scotty ! Trouble is I'm not really sure that his kidnapping felt right. Diana is the woman who has apparently been selected but its perhaps a little too much like old fashioned me Tarzan you Jane as Kor just expects Diana to comply with everything. He does admittedly decide to try to make her more comfortable with what is expected from her but alas for me it became more about the sexy times and less about this world and just why Diana was the one who was chosen for Kor.
Diana does start off as an independent female but quickly goes from no to no, no well alright then ! Yes Kor is all " Mine " and very protective but honestly I found Diana a little weak particularly when I think about how Kor abducted her, decided what she would wear and just generally rode rough shod over her fears and feelings. Kor isn't a monster but he is written as a guy who only sees one way.
It was fun to read about blue aliens but because so much space was given to intimate scenes I'm left confused about the Oracle who seems to be the guiding light on Kors planet and even more bizarrely the spirits of their elders who certainly play a part in this story. Perhaps more depth will find its way into the follow up because I know this author can certainly write stories that hold my attention more. Bottom line is if you want a fun, light sci fi romance to while away an hour or so then this might just tickle your fancy.

I really, really... REALLY like Eve Langlais' purple hunks. This blue one; not so much. I dunno, it was just missing something in the humor department. The danger was wrapped up too easily, but I will say that the demise of the bad guy was very appropriate. Karma will get you in the end;-)

I think I'll stick to Eve's Devils, demons and purple dudes from now on, unlike this blue guy I love them to death.

Diana is plumper than you average girl, her last boyfriend had a fetish about her size but refused to be seen in public with her. Then when she’s ironing in her underwear while wearing her worst outfit a sexy naked man appears in her living room and announces her has come to be her leader - which it turns out means her mate. Oh, and he’s blue!

Kidnapped onto Kor’s spaceship Diana begins her journey to his planet and her new life, not that she’s very happy about it at first. She eventually falls I love with Kor (no spoiler there, it’s a romance with an HEA so we expect that!) and finds although he’s an alien he is not much different to her.

Kor is surprised to find his mate does not simply accept her fate, instead she is argumentative and difficult, but he finds himself falling in love with her anyway! He loves her body, he is very happy he wasn’t given a too slim mate like some.

Kor is everything we look for in a sexy hero, he’s strong, good looking and an excellent lover. He’s blue but otherwise very human like so we can easily relate to him. His language has no word for love in it and he does not understand what he feels for Diana, he dare not yell anyone on his planet in case he is mentally ill and has his precious and rare mate taken away from him.

I really liked the way plump is seen as the ideal in Kor’s world, it makes a change to the usual beautiful, tall or athletic heroine usually found. Thankfully she is not a pushover, I was very happy to see Diana stand up to Kor and even more so that he actually seemed to like it!

The world created by Eve Langalis for Kor’s home planet is very similar to ours, yet more advanced in technology and no longer using water to wash, cleansing is done at a molecular level and has an unexpected side effect, read the book to see what I mean! The fate of Kor’s people’s women was very sad and gave the reader an instant way to sympathise with the actions of Kor when he took Diana.

I enjoyed Alien Mate and would recommend it to anyone who likes erotic romance with a bit of Sci-Fi thrown in. I will definitely be reading the follow up book Alien Mate 2.

I really wanted to love this book, because I have really enjoyed several of her other books. I feel that is only fair to say that I am not typically into the "alien"scene, but I thought if anyone could make me love an alien, it would be eve langlais. No...aliens just don't really do it for me. It was a cute and unique story and if you love aliens, you might love this book!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️
Plot/Storyline: 📖📖📖
Feels: 🦋🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑 (varies but many of these are quite short)
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥 (There is A LOT of sex but I didn’t count a lot of it because it was quite short. This might feel hotter to you!)
Humor: Yes
Perspective: Third person from both hero and heroine

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Basic plot:
Diana is minding her own business ironing her underwear when a large blue alien appears, naked and claims she’s his mate.

Give this a try if you want:
- Alien hero/human heroine
- Abducted heroine
- Full figured heroine
- Enemies to lovers feel – lots of banter and back and forth between our hero and heroine
- Most of the story takes place traveling through space to the hero’s planet
- Higher tech – lots of fun technology (not primitive)
- Medium steam – I count it as a 3 steam, but there’s multiple scenes and kisses. Many are quite short. This will feel hotter to others I think

My thoughts:
Ultimately this one didn’t work for me. I found the hero unlikable and condescending to his ‘mate’ and just never grew to love him. I can love a high handed hero for sure, but some of the things he said just came off as so rude and disrespectful of the heroine that it hurt my impression of him. I think some of this was meant to be humorous so I don’t think it will bother others as much as it did me.

When our heroes in this world mate, they get a spirit band around their arm, which is like a wedding ring in bracelet form. When it happened here, the hero wasn’t the happiest about that and that just skeeved me out! If he wanted a mate so badly, why wasn’t he proud of that?? To me it just started to give off future cheater vibes that I wasn’t into.

There was also a bit of inconsistency around his character to me like he doesn’t really want kids and there’s no birth control. Then out of nowhere he decides he’s possessive about her and wants children. I just never connected with him I guess.

And while I liked the heroine more, I never loved her either. She doesn’t want to be blue like the hero and laughs about the possibility of blue kids. You are with an alien, you don’t think they would have alien features???

This book didn’t have much sexual tension for me (my favorite part of romance!) because a lot just happened in the beginning and it was so frequent, but not really emotionally developed. So I was debating about continuing with the series after this one but I got the box set so I ended up finishing it (And I did like books 2 and 3 more!)

Diana’s just chilling in her house, ironing her underwear on a Saturday night...as you do...when Kor, an escapee from the Blue Man Group, I mean, an alien from the planet Xamian, pops up and says she’s to be his mate. He promptly kidnaps her and then, romance happens.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

- The strength is Eve Langlais’ humor : it’s funny in a goofy way and while not every joke lands, enough did that I found it fun to read. Diana’s a curvy gal who’s in demand with the aliens. Yes because if you’re curvy, the heroes have to be from another time, species or planet to want to be with you. It’s silly, but I don’t examine it too closely. It’s easier that way.

- Diana makes Kor work for it : Diana could be wowed by the hot blue guy, but no, she sticks up for herself and I appreciated that. Plus enough sexy times to make it interesting.

- it’s rather simple and melodramatic towards the end : Now here’s the rub (no pun intended) - sexy times and silly fun? Check. Story? Um, logic not as necessary I guess. The climax of the story was dependent on a bit of stupidity to work. I would have like to have it be funny and smart.

The Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a simple, kinda steamy kinda silly alien romance with low angst, then this is the series for you.

Hmm, well I never expect much from a Eve Langlais novel or novella as they are pretty simplistic, the characters never seem very smart, though they think they are. The set up for this one was good but it didn't have the humor. Then the kidnapping was just too obvious and then overly easy to overcome. The couple seemed sweet enough with some chemistry but not hot. The best part was the set up and since it isn't very original... just meh. Not bad but didn't keep my attention and for a short or novella not a read through on one pass or even 2. I put this down several times. So I may skip this series of Langlais and go back to A Demon and His Psycho, since A Demon and His Witch. A series from Langlais that has some really humor mixed in with the erotic.

The first half of the book = 2 stars. It got better after the halfway point.

** Warning Spoilers **

Diana is a non-skinny girl on earth who's not happy with her life. Recently broke up with a jerk who didn't want to be seen with a fat chick out in public, not so crazy about her job.

Suddenly a hunky blue guy (Kor) appears in her living room telling her he is HER leader and will be her mate. Cocky, arrogant and throwing commands left and right. Diana didn't like that and mouthed off to him, so he knocked her out with some kind of drug. She wakes up naked on his ship.

She finds out she doesn't get to wear any clothing except some veils, has to do what he says, has no choice in her life anymore. She was forced/bullied to take some shots including some hormone therapy to turn her into a baby-making machine.

Kor is taking her to his world and doesn't really care what she wants. He has been told by the Oracle that she is his mate and there is no changing her fate in his mind.
Even worse, his mother keeps calling him nagging about why he hasn't bonded with her yet.

The annoying part to me was Diana capitulates to Kor's plan so fast "because he's so handsome and kisses so well!". Kor takes Diana to a planet for a picnic trying for a "date" and like an idiot, looses track of her. She gets kidnapped by space pirates.

Kor gets her back and kills space pirates. Diana is so happy Kor rescues her, she bonds with him and they begin making (boring) nasty everywhere in the ship on the way back to his home.

Once they reach his home, Diana meets Kor's mother and finds out Kor's mother is human also. Which Kor never bothered to mention. And she's blue...which Diana will be eventually.
It's marital bliss until she meets Kor's brother Kil who is green and a little cray-cray in the head.

Kil tries to kill Kor via a cave-in. Diana is freaking because she loves Kor. She stomps into the Oracle and speaks her mind about why would you do this to me!!! Gets reassured Kor is alive, then proceeds to complain about how there has to be a better way than abducting human women. Oracle agrees.
Kil kidnaps Diana to one of their moons. Kor rescues.

HEA.

Sex scenes were tepid. Recomended as filler reading material.

LynnMarie’s Review

Eve Langlais is great at characterization. Diana calls herself a ‘plumper’ and figures a worthwhile man will never desire her. Her last boyfriend had a fetish for chubby girls and wouldn’t be seen with her in public. The entire experience tore down her confidence.

When a hot and buff alien man appears in her livingroom, insisting he wanted her for a life mate, she thinks she is dreaming. He transports them to his spacecraft and they begin the long journey to his home planet. Diana fights her abduction, but also knows she has nothing to leave behind on Earth.

Diana is hilarious! I could read about her thoughts all day and enjoy every minute of it. It was the humor and the characters that made this book stand out for me. Well, the sexy blue alien on the cover helped.

The relationship developed slowly, as Diana was cautious with Kor. Once things started rolling, there were plenty of spicy sex scenes. You can’t help but love Kor. He’s controlled, logical and eager to please his mate. Though he wishes his new woman was a little more cooperative, he soon learns what love is.

Once they arrive on Kor’s planet, the pace of the story slowed somewhat, but picked up again in the last quarter.

For a funny, touching, romance with a stud of an alien and a reluctant heroine, this is the book for you. I highly recommend Alien Mate, and can’t wait for more work by this talented author.

Very similar to Ria Candro´s Mated.

The whole background is much than similar to Ria Candro's book, and honestly ... that was waaaaay much more hotter than this one. So I'm sticking to that series.
This one.. was like a pretty little fairy tale about aliens, even though I loved the heroine's personality and all the marvels of the planet.
But really I'd have to check the releasing dates of both books to see who came up with the idea first... 'cause the story is way too similar, with the only difference that the heroine had to mate with more than 2 aliens at Ria Candro's book, the aliens were all Avatar like and a planet all male-dominated society. the rest was pretty muchh the...

This is the usual formula, drunken step father gambles away pretty step daughter to a prestige guy and thus the story begins. Vincent won Bridgget in a game of cards, he then took her home with him, there Bridgget met his family as well as Vincent training her to pleasure him sexually. Its a good read not bad the characters had a a lot of issues to resolve with each other especially when Bridgget comes out of her shell of shyness and naive. Vincent seem a little mean sometimes

This book was like marshmallow fluff. Too sweet and a little goes a long way. I liked the other book I read by this author but this one was just sort of phoning it in. The sci fi element was lame, all surface sci fi buzz words. There was a star ship, a pink planet, a planet with 2 moons. There was a bunch of telling not showing and there was no tension or conflict at all. No effort to make the alien society either alien or fully realized. Lots of mediocre sex scenes strung together. Usually I think forget the sex scenes, get back to the plot. But since there wasn't much plot and what there was, the author didn't convince me to care about, I didn't even bother thinking that.

Thanks Melissa for loaning it to me.

One of those endearing "I'm plump but he still wants to do me" books. Because he's from other planet and he's blue.

Meanwhile, we poor males on this world are supposed to starve from our plump hunger and go extinct because all the sweet plumpies are too busy reading alien mates books and can't accept the fact we do really want them in all their plumpy glory.

Something interesting happened to me while reading this book. I didn't check how many instances of the word PLUMP there are, but it's enough to condition me to associate it with sex. Just like the word Rihanna. But then again, the words Rihanna and Plump are pretty close in my semantic field, so I don't know...

But it kinda proves my point.

What can I say it’s lite, silly, fun almost stupid but I think because Langiais doesn’t try to over play her hand it worked. Yes, I would have loved a serious sci-fi book but check your brain at the door and read only if you’re in the mood.

Okay, I can suspend disbelief enough to accept a woman falling in love with a blue alien who materializes, naked, in her house and proclaims he is her leader but, seriously, who irons their underwear? Also, I don’t care how much Star Trek or X-Files I’ve seen, an alien, blue or otherwise, appears in front of me and I’m going to scream bloody murder not stand there bemused yet sassy. Also, this is the fourth Eve Langlais book I’ve read and she has an odd view of women. Most of the women in her books are described as argumentative or mouthy in some way but if anything, they don’t voice themselves assertively enough. The definition of argumentative is not someone who asks questions or states an opinion. This is the problem with most romance type books I’ve read, the women are almost always supposed to be strong, independent, feisty, etc. But they’re not. Hey, I have no problem with chest beating alpha males. I like alpha males. I just wish these books had more realistic characterizations. Let’s get back to screaming. I would be. Loud, frantic wails would erupt from my argumentative mouth if some dude appeared in my house. I don’t care if you have no family or friends and you have a shitty job you won’t miss, leaving your planet is a huge deal. Who would calmly accept such a fate? Even if I were to someday fall madly in love with Mr. Blue Alien, I would not go down easily. It would be a struggle that would probably takes months or years. And WHO IRONS THEIR UNDERWEAR!?

Kor’s planet has a shortage of women. The best of the men are chosen for the chance at getting a mate from another planet, selected by an Oracle and ancestors in spirit form. Kor specified he wanted a docile mate but Diana is anything but. (Snarky feminist reviewer grumbles “bullshit” in an argumentative tone, knitting her eyebrows together in a scowl. She then proceeds on writing this review with mirth.)

Diana is pleased to find there are plenty of other Earth women on Kor’s planet and all seems right in the world. Until ::dramatic music:: Kor’s brother Kil appears and it seems he’s about to muck up the works. Deus ex machina. The end.

Snarkiness aside (what an incorrigible, argumentative female I am!), why am I rating this 3-stars? For whatever reason, I enjoyed this book. In fact, I’ve found all of her books I’ve read so far enjoyable. Perhaps it’s the sex. Or perhaps not as it’s certainly not the best erotica I’ve read either. However, cute they are. And still better love stories than Twilight. Quick and easy to read; pure fluff.

I think Langlais (much like Stephenie Meyer) raped a thesaurus and used no protection. Here’s an example of the STDs that thesauruses clearly carry: Diana, her relief over her safety and his assuaged, leaned back. That sentence makes no kind of sense. In addition, there is an abuse of question marks when there’s no question asked? As well as an apparent confusion on what a question actually is. For example: “I didn’t think you’d come back,” she whispered, cradled in his arms. Now that bliss had mellowed and reality returned, she asked. She asked what!? There was no question there.

Disclaimer: I know I can be pretty critical in my reviews, but I usually don't like to go on a full-on rant, because hey, authors are people, too. For this one, though, I'm letting it all out. This author has a pretty loyal following (for some reason), so I doubt this is going to damage her rep or income. If she does read this, please know that I'm not trying to be mean. But, dear author, you can do better. Do better.

So here I go.

First off, size 14 is not plump, it's pretty healthy for an average-height woman, and Diana was never described as super short. I'd love to be a size 14. I'll tell you right off the bat that I got annoyed, no I was offended, by the repeated mentions of how "plump" or "curvy" the protag was, citing her size to be 14. She thought about it a lot, too. Bordering on obsessive. Seriously?

Second... this book is terrible. I mean, wow. WOW. This was "assigned reading" for a romance book club I'm in, and I'm generally down to try new stuff, especially in the romance genre. I'm not familiar with the alien-abduction side of romance, so this was new to me.

I have to believe there's better than this out there.

Aside from the fact that the writing was sub-sub-par, there was no real plot outside of an "oops-I-better-do-something-for-some-kind-of-climax" toss in. Nothing to conquer, really, since Diana only threw some token protests in about the fact that she'd been abducted to take part in an arranged marriage to a humanoid of a different species, but they were all followed with something like, "But gee, he sure has a big dick, so sexy."

So, okay, maybe it's erotica, yeah? I can live with that, sex can be an awesome way to show character and develop connection, and hey, bonus hot. Right? Only... the sex was written badly, too. I found myself cringing during the sex scenes rather than being at all aroused, or even amused. There was nothing substantial, here. Nothing that wasn't Step 1, lick here, step 2, shout name, step 3, magical coming simultaneously. Boo. Unfortunately, this made up the bulk of the (short, thank goodness) audiobook.

So, let's see, we have a "plump" heroine who decides it's totally cool to make a life-long commitment based on the size of a dude's junk, an alien from an extremely patriarchal society who is totally chill with abducting women and expecting them to fall in line as breeders, some token baddies who "chuckled evilly" before getting hero-killed by the one-man army that is the afore-mentioned alien, and one last-minute psychotic-jealous brother-in-law. That basically amounted to...pretty much nothing. It was all phoned in, so to speak, because everyone was made of cardboard.

Fiction 101: At minimum, you need either solid characters, or a solid plot to carry a story. This had neither.

No. Just. No.

I think this is the 3rd Eve Langlais book I've read. Maybe it's the 4th. I'm not sure and that's not really the point. What I'm getting at is that everything I've read by her, whether it's a shifter book or sexy sci-fi, has been awesome. This lady has sassy heroines that make me giggle. She has big blue (and purple!) aliens that make me sit up and smile. She has snark and sexy times galore!

I read a book not too long ago with a similar basic premise (Earth girl gets whisked away to another planet to be the mate of an Alpha alien dude) and I'm amused that I had such different reactions to the way this idea was handled. I loved Alien Mate. I thought it was cute and sexy and I would DEFINITELY read more in this series. The other book? Ehhh... Let's just say that I had more than one issue with the way the heroine was treated and leave it at that. The humor that Eve Langlais writes into what could be a creeptastic situation kept this book light and fun. Oh, and the inherent horniness of her female characters, which I think is AWESOME! Horny girls, FTW!

Kor and Diana are a hoot and a half and although their book is fairly short in length it doesn't skimp on either the sexy times or the emotional side of their relationship. Fun with a side of big, blue alien. What's not to like?

I had some issues with the heroine, as usual, but otherwise enjoyed it for the most part. I wish the author had used something other than kidnapping to create conflict, because tree times in one story is just too much.

I'm also not a fan of a woman being called BBW when she's a size 12. That's pretty average these days. I also don't understand why the character's weight needs to be focused on so much. Nobody else seems to give a shit about her weight, so I dunno why the reader would.

I found the characters to be decently developed and even though Diana was contrary and mouthed off too much, I still wanted her to be happy in the end. I mean, obviously I didn't want her to be raped... nevermind.

The only problem I found with editing was that the author never used the word "until"... always 'til. That's annoying as shit. If a character wants to say 'til, that wouldn't bother me. But the narrator needs to not use slang.

Looking up the other books in this series, it sounds like the same story over and over. I don't really understand the point of that, unless you're only supposed to read one book.

Anyway... it was entertaining, but nothing special.

I have mixed feelings on this one... On the one hand, it was pretty decent I suppose. For my first alien related book I was kinda hoping for more steamy sex scenes with ET! ;) But alas, there were not. A handful of descriptive scene then a bunch of fade to black or after the fact type moments. I'm wondering if I've become a major pervert since this was the biggest flaw for me... The story had good moments but then kinda fizzled out towards the end. I felt like it was getting rushed and a little cheesy. Skipping time and such. I feel like it was a good book to cut me teeth on so to speak. 3.5 stars

I'm telling ya, Eve is like the master of world building. It doesn't matter what genre it is in, if Eve is creating it I believe it. I was totally in this story. I kept looking out my window, looking up thinking that some hot blue alien was gonna head on down to Earth and be like "MINE!"

She creates a whole universe and its all IN SPACE! And it is all MADE UP! And it is hot blue aliens. With crazy aliens tossed in. With ease Eve brought me into this world and I smack landed in this land of sexy aliens and I ain't going back to earth anytime soon!

This book was funny as well romantic in a weird kind of way. Loved the story of Kor that is definitely an Alpha Male Alien. But felt like it needed more. I know it was a short story, but I felt like more should have been said. Good Job to Ms. Langlais, still love the story.

Well, third time's the charm. After two duds, I finally found what I was in the mood for: light, funny, and basically ridiculous. I should have known better and grabbed up something from Eve first, but what can ya do?
