Heart-wrenching story of Meenakshi and Hiten. A must read.
I am falling in love with MV Kasi’s books; they are just an absolute package of love, suspense, thrill, and passionate romance. It has all the ingredients that make the story and book perfectly delicious to read, and eventually reaches the heart of all the readers. This book had its way to make me feel all the emotions throughout the story, at one point it even pains to read what’s happening, it hurts a lot but the destination is worth all the troubles and pain throughout the journey.
At the age of eighteen, Meenakshi Mahasena was in love with Hiten. Hiten was an orphan working at Mahasena mansion where they first met and eventually fell in love with each other. Despite knowing their differences, they dared to take the risk and didn’t stop loving each other with all the promises to always stay together.
“Hundreds of mansions or thousands of beautiful dresses wouldn’t hold any appeal to me without you by my side.”
But what happened that after ten years, Meenakshi was not with Hiten? In fact, she was scared to face him.
“The boy who had kissed her scraped knees better, held her hands when her pets died, gave her the first kiss, made her into a woman, and then… was betrayed by her.”
Hiten was an innocent kid when he had first arrived at the Mahasena mansion. He did his work sincerely and when he met Meenakshi he found his first friend of life. He would do anything for her happiness and it was not long before he fell in love with her. But now, he hates Meenakshi with passion, enough to destroy her and he has returned with a plan to make Meena’s life miserable.
“People change,” he gritted out. “Especially when things happen, and they end up losing their fucking soul in the process.”
Within a few days of his return, he almost shattered Meena’s whole life and didn’t even spare her closed ones. Meena could see the anger and hatred in his eyes but still, she foolishly hoped that he will stop before it’s too late.
“When I return, I will be able to finally move on knowing she is suffering the way I did.”
Hiten had his reasons to take his revenge. He truly loved her once more than anything in the world, only to get his world shattered by her.
“Until forever apparently means until someone richer comes along.”
Meena had only loved one man in her whole life, but was her love enough to conquer all the hate and anger he was carrying for a decade? She knew he will not trust her again; love from him was the last thing she could expect, even though she was desperate for it. But I have read somewhere that if you truly love someone you cannot forget them no matter what. Will Hiten be able to control his devastation before he completely destroys Meenakshi and also their promise of until forever?
“Hate destroys you. And love creates happiness.”
This book is for all the romantic souls who believe in second chances and also for those who believe that love has the power to conquer all the hate in the world. I will recommend this book to all those readers.
