Witch Undercover

Rate this book
Blair and Nathan have returned from a relaxing holiday by the sea ready to face a new year in Fairy Falls. The first thing on Blair's agenda is to find a way to contact her estranged father, but when a strange man shows up in town under the effects of an unknown spell, her plans are put on hold.

Someone is revealing the magical community's secrets to outsiders, and anyone in town might be the culprit. With everyone on high alert and the annual goblin market bringing a new wave of paranormal chaos to town, it's the worst possible time for Blair's utterly ordinary foster parents to invite themselves for a visit.

Now it's up to Blair to decide how much of her new life to share with her family -- unless the magical mayhem finds them first…

Resuming the tale

Following a 4 book diversion to the tie in with the Library Witches (bit unnecessary frankly I don't think you get anything vital from it) we pick up as Blair and Nathan return to Fairy Falls.

Blair receives a message from her father, she needs to acquire a pixie glass to be able to communicate with him it's too risky to send notes. As a goblin market is heading their way she hopes to be able to find one, but first she's going to have to work out how to meet up with her adoptive parents without giving the paranormal world away.

With a "normal" popping up in the middle of Fairy Falls able to see through the glamour that hides the town, and through Blair's personal glamour to boot, she's got other things to deal with.. as the resident "lie detector" Blair's asked to find out who, or maybe what, is bringing normals into the paranormal world.

She's going to have to deal with a lot of dubious characters though including drunk elves, goblins and fairies.. can she work it out before the Hunter's try to take over again?

Most disappointing that the next book isn't out until September!! I really need to know now!! I am concerned it's going to end the series and really hope that Adams can spin some more twists as I am really enjoying the characters.

Such intrigue!

There's no murder but plenty of mayhem in Fairy Falls after Blair's and Nathan's return from Ivory Beach. Deciphering her dad's missive only leads to more questions, as usual; however, dealing with a pop-up visit from her foster parents, the potential risk of exposure for the entire magical community, new magical abilities, and the insidious threat of the hunters in the present leaves Blair little opportunity for delving into the past. Thank goodness Blair has so much support (including Sky and crew!), maybe even from unexpected quarters. This ending implies she'll need it!

Extraordinary supernatural urban fantasy/ cozy mystery series

Extraordinary supernatural urban fantasy/cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a very entertaining storyline. Blair Wilkes a woman who grew up in the human world gets a new job in a new town and then finds out she’s actually half which and half fairy. Follow along as she learns to use her different new powers and with her friends solves mysteries and murders and other trouble. Well worth the read. Check it out

Slow start but well worth it.

This book started slowly for me. I continued reading and am glad I did, it turned out to be a really good one. You gain lots of information in this one and several more questions..... That keeps it interesting. We finally get to meth Blair's foster parents in this installment, that is tricky but, fun until it isn't..... Nathan is still with her and she ends up getting a little more help from others who are a bit unexpected. Make it through the slow start and keep going, the book is well worth it and you gain a multitude of new information.

The market is in town and normals are showing up spelled. Since Steve the gargoyle wants nothing to do with it, Blair decides to find out whats going on. It could be goblin brew, but its lasting too long. Could it be gobling fruit? But where is it coming from?

On top of that, her dad has sent a message that pixie glass can help them communicate. The issue? Mrs. Daily was the last one to have one. How can Blair get it now? And can Nathan help?

A fun low-stakes mystery that gets Blair that much closer to seeing her dad.

A must read

I’ve loved this series from the start and each book is a delight to read. Blair has come a long way since book one but we haven’t met the father yet and I’m hoping that happens soon!

I am very curious about what the inquisitor wants with Blair. In these books there is the main story and 1-3 other side quests happening too. At times it seems to be a little much. I have my own thoughts about who Blair’s dad is, what happened. We will wait and see if it’s right.

Witches and fairies and more, oh my!

The stories are becoming more intense, as Blair learns more, but knows less about her family. Can't wait for the unravelling!
